Hello from the Amplify newsroom. I'm Tomorrow Cartwright. The Community
and Public Sector Union have slammed the CSIRO for another
round of staff carts, this time affecting researchers. Australia's National
Science Agency is this week asking critical research projects to
compete against each other for survival whilst others face the acts.

What we're talking about is AI adoption versus feud, security
versus disease control versus climate change preparedness or cybersecurity. This
is not good enough. It's time for the government to
step in and stop putting scientists against each other.

charged after an incident at the Dixon Shops yesterday afternoon,
where the twenty two year old allegedly assaulted the mother
of his child and left the scene with their baby.
Police located the man and the baby a short time later,
where the man was arrested for alleged family violence offenses.

with the federal government today moving to ben deep fake apps.
It's part of a crackdown recommended in a review of
online safety, and like the under sixteen social media ban.
The owners would be put on platforms to stop fake
nerds being created in the first place. The Canberra Liberals
are moving emotion in the Assembly today calling on the

government to guarantee there will be no cuts to staff,
programs or support in our public schools. It comes after
it was revealed a majority of ACT public schools are
expected to go over budget by the end of this year.

This is about families who rely on a good education
for their kids. It's about kids that turn up every
day and a government that hasn't backed them in. It's
not an accident that seventy seven schools have overspent their budget.
I think what we need to look at here is
what the government aren't doing.

The cost of policing protests in the capital this financial
year is already close to the total spent for the
entirety of twenty twenty four to twenty five. ACT Police
spent just over one hundred and sixty thousand dollars up
to August twenty nine managing protest activity, while in the
previous financial year they spend a total of one hundred
and seventy thousand dollars the figures don't include the cost

for policing anti immigration and counter protests that happened over
the weekend. And NURL star Reese Rolsch is back in
the headlines for all the wrong reasons after posting footage
