Hello from the Amplifying newsroom. I'm Hayden Visserah. A mother
is in hospital with serious injuries after she was allegedly
stabbed by her son at their Page home. Police alleged
the woman's nineteen year old son stabbed her multiple times
with a kitchen knife. They say the teen then attended
Belconon station to report the incidents and was later arrested.
The man has been charged with attempted murder. The Act

government insists it's committed to reducing systemic racism. It's as
the final reports for an independent review into the overrepresentation
of First Nations people in our criminal justice system has
been released with systemic racism as one of the key themes.

The Senate is expected to vote today on legislation to
restrict funding to childcare centers if they failed to meet
minimum standards. Federal Education Minister Jason Clair hopeful the vote
will occur before question time.

This is the biggest weapon that the Commonwealth government has
to wield here. We provide something like sixteen billion dollars
a year to childcare centers through the Childcare Subsidy Mission.

Australia has released data showing the positive impact of Tennessee
Support for those at risk of homelessness. Incredibly, ninety eight
percent of people who've used the charity have managed to
remain off the streets over the past years. Deputy CEO
Ben Carbliss says, it shows that these services are vital
for preventing homelessness.

And what we heard is that those we serve tell
us that having a stable home where they feel safe
and connected is key for their own mental health and
well being. It's where they feel healthier, happier and more
connected to their community.

And all states and territories saw a slowdown and sales
growth for small businesses in the June, with the ACT
recording the weakest sales zero. Small Business Insight update shows
modest sales growth in the territory just one point zero
percent year on year. Western Australia was the strongest performer
with sales growth of four point six percent. And that's
