counting continues following Labour's projected win in the weekends of
federal election. Here in the Act, Independent David Pocock has
been re elected in the Senate, with the same looking
likely for Katie Gallaher, while Labors Andrew Lee and Elisa

Paine appear to have held onto their seats in the
House of Reps. And it's still a tight contest between
Independent Jesse Price and Labour's David Smith in the Act
electorate of Bean, with Smith slightly ahead at this stage. Meantime,
Pocock shares his thoughts on the historic win.

I don't think this Labor victory should be seen as
a vote for the status quo.

I think there's some big, big issues that we have
to grapple with as a country and as a parliament
For the coalition, it's a time of wreckoning for the
Liberal Party, with attention turning to who will lead the
party after Peter Duden was shown the door in the
Queensland seat of Dixon. A number of names have already

been thrown around, including Andrew Hasty, Dan Teen and Susan Lee.
The Greens claim their election campaign is a success, with
Peter Dutton not only failing to win office but pushed
out of politics. The minor party though not winning any
Lower House seats at this stage, with Adam Baant's seat

of Melbourne on a knife's edge, but the party leader
is happy to see the Greens looking at having the
balance of power in the Senate.

The Greens have achieved a record Senate vote with nudging
fourteen percent for somewhere the count is at the moment
and we'll see where it gets to at the end,
and I think that's a reflection of now the true
Greens level of support the act.

Government has launched a public review of the Bail Act
nineteen ninety two to modernize how bail to season are made.
Attorney General Tara Chain released a discussion paper today outlining
proposals to simplify the complex legislation and align it with
