Wrapping up the week with a pretty decent bite in most areas. Nothing super spectacular but it's definitely not slow either! I'll get you up to speed with what's going on.
I apologize for not having a report up yesterday. I was under the weather and it was a rough day, on my birthday of all days too!! But I'm back and the fishing hasn't been too different over the last few days, however there are a few changes and I'll tell you all about them in this report.
Man the fishing has been great since the weekend all over the place! I'll get you up to speed with what was caught yesterday and what you can maybe catch today!

The lightening squalls over Roanoke Island were intense yesterday, but the fish seemed to like it!! Got your fishing report all ready to go as well as an outlook for the weekend!
Also, don't forget to listen in tomorrow when my Other Side of Fishing Show drops! We will be talking with Capt. John Bayliss and Ms. Nancy Brown about the Boatbuilders Foundation and the Tournament coming up in a few weeks!
Still a tad breezy but boats made it offshore yesterday so that's good, and their catches were good as well! Gonna talk about that and the inshore, pier, surf and back country round up as well!
Still a bit breezy across the region so that kept things a tad slow offshore but other spots had some pretty good action, plus a species that I don't get to talk about too often has shown up a few different places!! I'll talk to you more about that plus the upcoming Boatbuilders Tournament at Pirate's Cove July 24th thru the 27th!
Little breezy and a tad wet yesterday so that made things a tad slow on the fishing front but yall know me - I always find something to talk about in the world of fishing. Listen in and I'll get you up to speed on what you need to know!
I hope you all had a great 4th of July weekend! Fishing was pretty good all over! Blew a little bit yesterday but Friday and Saturday made up for it. Gonna get you up to speed with that and also talk a little bit about the next big tournament coming up at Pirate's Cove in Manteo.
About 120 degrees south east of Cape Hatteras and roughly 600 miles away lies the tiny island of Bermuda. Many, many boats make the trek from our shores to that small speck in the Atlantic on a regular basis. In this story, Capt. Mike Merritt was actually making the trip back with four crewmembers on the boat he had been running. They weren't but about 100 miles away from Cape Hatteras when something happened and caused them t...
Offshore was a bit breezy so not a lot of action there but there was action on the piers, in the surf, around the inlet and in the sounds (all while dodging the rain)! I'll get you up to speed with what that action was.
No fishing report tomorrow morning! I'll be back on Monday with a three-day recap. I hope you all have a safe and wonderful 4th of July and may God Bless the USA!
Check out the latest fishing from Corolla to Ocracoke on the Outer Banks.
HAPPY SPECKELED TROUT DAY!!! TODAY IS THE FIRST DAY YOU CAN KEEP SPECKELED TROUT (just make sure you check for the laws on size and amount)!!
Breezy yesterday but the fish didn't seem to mind! All fronts had great catches of a variety of species! Gonna get you up to speed with what those species were caught and also talk a little bit about the next tournament at Pirate's Cove in a few weeks!
Finally back home after a great week at the Hatteras Marlin Club. I'll give you the final standings from that tournament last week (man, what a great time it was to be there) and also give you a recap of the fishing from the weekend.
In this story Capt. Marty tells of a time back in 1982 when he was the mate on the Tarheel with Capt. John Bayliss. This specific day after a great haul of tuna fishing, they had to do the unexpected when one of their fellow mates Sonny Eslinger on the boat The Sportsman, captained by Omie Tillett, passed out in the cockpit on the way back in. Listen as the captain explains all of what happened that fateful day.
Not a whole lot has changed on the fishing front over the last few days. Gonna talk a little more about that, give you a weekend outlook and also give you the latest from the 66th Annual Hatteras Marlin Club Tournament as we head into the last day of fishing.
Seeing our typical summertime fishing. Great meat fish on all fronts, hit and miss with billfish offshore. I'll get you up to speed with what's been biting and also how things are going at the 66th Annual Hatteras Marlin Club Tournament.
Another hot day across the region but the fish didn't seem to mind! Great fishing on all fronts and I have the latest for you from the Hatteras Marlin Club Tournament as well!
My goodness is it HOT!! This is why I say fish early and fish late. Not just because it's a little cooler for you, but for the fish too! They're more active earlier and later in the day. Things relatively the same across the fishing world. I do have the latest from the Hatteras Marlin Club tournament to talk about. The top three boats all caught the same fish, but one boat is in first place... why is that you ask? Listen ...
