After saving Vulpolis, Captain Flashman, Eve, Prince Belfast and Dr Krakow were released from their bonds of slavery by Queen Vulkaren who also promised to host Captain Flashman and Eve's wedding. In the midst of their pre-wedding banquet, Khan the Cruel arrived. Annoyed that Captain Flashman had been freed, Khan re-arrested him and his friends and forced Captain Flashmanto fight in a tournament whose first prize was both freedom and a kingdom of their own to rule while second prize was never-ending and perpetual death. Will Captain Flashman survive the tournament of death? Will Khan force Eve to marry him? And will Dr Krakow and Prince Belfast's secondary billing seal their doom?
