In todays episode we speak with Marcelle Bonterre. He is a Senior Machine Learning Engineer focusing on Natural Language Processing at Turnitin. Before Turnitin, he was either the first or an early engineer at several startups, whose businesses ranged from smartwatches to FinTech. He holds a Bachelors in Computer Science from Wright State University. Marcelle spends part of his spare time mentoring new engineers through affiliations with various organizations, and spinning through his rolodex of hobbies including mountain biking, rock climbing, tinkering with electronics, roasting coffee, falling down wikipedia language-origin rabbit-holes, or indulging his passion for autodidactic study of astronomy, quantum physics and various mathematical esoteria. Marcelle is an immigrant from Trinidad & Tobago and what I want you to take from his journey is his focus on learning the skills needed to be successful in your data science career even without a formal education in machine learning.

CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist

CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist

It’s 1996 in rural North Carolina, and an oddball crew makes history when they pull off America’s third largest cash heist. But it’s all downhill from there. Join host Johnny Knoxville as he unspools a wild and woolly tale about a group of regular ‘ol folks who risked it all for a chance at a better life. CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist answers the question: what would you do with 17.3 million dollars? The answer includes diamond rings, mansions, velvet Elvis paintings, plus a run for the border, murder-for-hire-plots, and FBI busts.
