paranormal pareidolia (noun)
par·a·nor·mal par·ei·do·lia /ˌpærəˈnɔːrməl ˌpær.aɪˈdoʊ.li.ə/
1. The tendency to perceive ghostly or supernatural images, sounds, or patterns in random stimuli, such as shadows, reflections, or background noise.
2. A psychological phenomenon in which ambiguous sensory input is interpreted as paranormal entities or occurrences, often influenced by cultural beliefs or expectations.
Example: "The eerie face in the window was likely just an instance of paranormal pareidolia rather than an actual apparition, but I'm still totally freaked out and wanna call the Ghostbusters now."
