Saints Cosmos and Damien died intwo hundred eighty-seven AD.

They took no money for theirmedical services, for which they
were well respected.
Because of their charity, theydrew many to the Catholic faith.
During the Christian persecutionunder the Roman Emperor
Diocletian, Cosmos and Damienwere targeted, arrested, and
tortured.
After being miraculouslypreserved from injury throughout

their cruel tortures, holdingfirm in their faith to the end,
they were finally killed bybeheading.
They were martyred together withtheir three brothers.
