Meditation of the day, anexcerpt from Spiritual
Guidelines for Souls Seeking Godby Father Basil Matarin, page
35.
As God hath distributed to everyman, as the Lord hath called
(02:34):
everyone, so let him walk.
No one can do better with hislife than that.
No one can put it to a betteruse.
Any life must be perfect inproportion as it does what it
was made to do.
There are many lives that arebrilliant failures.
They strive after many thingsthat they were never intended to
(02:55):
do, and fail in that one thing.
It seems strange that areasonable being should never
ask himself why he was put uponearth, or that it should not
occur to him that the reasonmust be found in the will of his
creator.
At the end of the day of ourearthly life, we have to answer
to our maker whether we havebeen employed about our own work
(03:18):
or about his, whether we haveeven made an effort to find out
what he would have us do.
A life that is inspired by sucha motive is sure to be a
success, for of this we may beabsolutely certain that each of
us can fulfill in our life thatfor which we were created.
(03:38):
We cannot be sure that we havethe gifts needed for any other
purpose, for God, in creatingus, equipped us for the work for
which He created us.
We have every gift of nature andof grace, of mind and body that
is needed for this work.
Scripture verse of the day.
(04:05):
My heart says of you, seek hisface.
Your face, Lord, I will seek.
Do not hide your face from me.
Do not turn your servant away inanger.
You have been my helper.
Do not reject me or forsake me,God my Savior.
