prayers, works, joys, andsufferings of this day, for all
the intentions of your SacredHeart, in union with the holy

Saint of the Day The Saint ofthe Day for September 22nd is
Saint Ignatius of Santhea.
Saint Ignatius of Santhea livedbetween 1686 and 1770.
He was born in Italy to anupper-class family.
He received his early educationfrom a devout priest, a relative
of his mother, who inspired himto join the priesthood.

He studied philosophy andtheology, and after his
ordination, served as a diocesanpriest for six years.
Saint Ignatius of Santhea SaintIgnatius earned a reputation as
an excellent preacher ofretreats and missions, and he
had a promising future withinthe diocese.
His family and parishioners weresurprised and disappointed when
he decided to join the CapuchinFranciscans in Turin as a poor,

humble friar.
However, Saint Ignatiusflourished in the poverty and
simplicity of the Franciscan wayof life.
He became well known for hiswisdom and sanctity, and many
people from all walks of lifecame to him for confession.

Devotion of the Month Septemberis the month of Our Lady of
Sorrows.
The Church dedicates the monthof September to Our Lady of
Sorrows as this devotion recallsthe Blessed Virgin Mary's

This was her role in salvationhistory and what merited her
place as the spiritual mother ofall Christians.
