excerpt from A Year with Mary bySt.
Alphonsus Liguori, page 222.
In this valley of tears, everyman is born to weep, and all
must suffer, by enduring theevils that take place every day.
But how much greater would bethe misery of life if we also
knew the future evils that awaitus?

For in the temple, Saint Simeon, having received the divine child
in his arms, foretold to herthat her son would be a sign for
all the persecutions andoppositions of men.

not approach him.
Then the boy, who came to liveat Saint Mark's Abbey to be
(04:46):
educated by the monks, becamepossessed again.
Saint Eleutherius repented ofhis vain and presumptuous
