O Jesus, through the ImmaculateHeart of Mary, I offer you my
prayers, works, joys, andsufferings of this day, for all
the intentions of your SacredHeart, in union with the holy
sacrifice of the Mass throughoutthe world, for the salvation of
souls, the reparation of sins,the reunion of all Christians,

and in particular, for the holyintentions of the Holy Father
this month.

As we have seen, there issometimes a big difference

between what God is actuallyasking of us and what we imagine
He is asking.
We won't have the grace to dowhat God is not asking of us,
but for what He is asking, Hehas promised us His grace.

Isaiah 52, verses 8-10 Saint ofthe Day The Saint of the Day for
September 18th is Saint Josephof Cupertino.
Saint Joseph of Cupertino livedbetween 1603 and 1663.
He was the son of a poor Italiancarpenter.
His father died before he wasborn, leaving his mother

destitute.
As a result, Joseph was underfedand often sick.
He was an intellectually dullchild who constantly found
himself the worst off in everysituation.
He was often He was awkward,absent-minded, unintelligent,
and difficult to be around.
Many people thought he was goodfor nothing, including his own

mother, who treated him harshlyand considered him a burden.
Added to the scorn he receivedfrom everyone, at the age of
eight he began receivingecstatic visions for which he
was also ridiculed.
At the age of seventeen, Josephfound work with the Capuchin
Franciscan friars, eventuallyjoining their order once they
recognized his holiness beneathhis irritability.

His ecstasies became morepronounced, and he would often
levitate or float as theyhappened.
These ecstasies could betriggered easily through the
mention of anything heavenly orby any mortification.
These occurrences became aspectacle and disturbance to
others and caused Joseph muchsuffering.

publicly due to his distractingecstasies.
He was even reported to theInquisition for St.
