to those who stop for some timein peace and humility of heart.
(02:14):
If you look in murky andturbulent waters, you cannot see

Meditation of the day, anexcerpt from How to Make a Good
(02:34):
Confession by John A.
Cain, page eighty one.
All, however, cannot attain tothe same degree of sacrifice.
There are chosen souls whom Godhas raised above the ordinary
callings of life, who, true totheir vocation, show their love
for God in heroic self-denial,in total surrender to his will,
(02:55):
exulting in the use of all theirpowers to spread his kingdom.
But regardless of disparity ofcalling, all can be led by the
same spirit.
It is the spirit, not themeasure, of sacrifice that will
decide our eternity.

(03:16):
are rich, command them not to behaughty or to set their hopes on
the uncertainty of riches, butrather on God, who richly
provides us with everything forour enjoyment.
They are to do good, to be richin good works, generous and
ready to share, thus storing upfor themselves the treasure of a
good foundation for the future,so that they may take hold of

But by the envy of the devildeath entered the world, and
they who are in his possessionexperience it.
But the souls of the just are inthe hand of God, and no torment
shall touch them.
They seemed in the view of thefoolish to be dead, and their
passing away was thought andaffliction, and their going
(06:12):
forth from us utter destruction.
But they are in peace.
For if before men indeed they bepunished, yet is their hope full
of immortality.
Chastised a little they shall begreatly blessed because God
tried them and found them worthyof himself.
As gold in the furnace he provedthem, and as sacrificial
(06:35):
offerings he took them tohimself.
In the time of their visitationthey shall shine and shall dart
about as sparks through stubble.
They shall judge nations andrule over peoples, and the Lord
shall be their king forever.
