Meditation of the Day an excerptfrom Abandonment to Divine
Providence by Father Jean Pierrede Cassade, page eighteen I
believe that if those souls thattend toward sanctity were
instructed as to the conductthey ought to follow, they would
be spared a good deal oftrouble.
I speak as much of people in theworld as of others.

(02:36):
If they could realize the meritconcealed in the actions of each
moment of the day, I mean ineach of the daily duties of
their state and life, they wouldindeed be happy.
If besides they understood thatto attain the utmost height of
perfection, the safest andsurest way is to accept the
crosses sent them by Providenceat every moment, that the true

(03:00):
philosopher's stone issubmission to the will of God
which changes into divine goldall their occupations, troubles,
and sufferings.
What consolation would betheirs?
What courage would they notderive from the thought that to
acquire the friendship of Godand to arrive at eternal glory,
they had but to do what theywere doing, but to suffer what

(03:22):
they were suffering, and thatwhat they wasted and counted as
nothing would suffice to enablethem to arrive at imminent
sanctity, far more so thanextraordinary states and
wonderful works.
Scripture verse of the day.
