Meditation of the Day, anexcerpt from Trustful Surrender
(02:28):
to Divine Providence by Fr.
Jean-Baptiste Saint-Jour, p.
90 We trust ourselves to adoctor because we suppose he
knows his business.
He orders an operation whichinvolves cutting away part of
our body, and we accept it.
We are grateful to him and payhim a large fee because we judge
(02:48):
that he would not act as he doesunless the remedy were
necessary, and we must rely onhis skill.
Yet, we are unwilling to treatGod in the same way.
It looks as if we do not trusthis wisdom and are afraid he
cannot do his job properly.
We allow ourselves to beoperated on by a man who may
(03:09):
easily make a mistake, a mistakewhich may cost us our life, and
protest when God sets to work onus.
If we could see all he sees, wewould unhesitatingly wish all he
wishes.
Scripture verse of the day.
(03:30):
Are not all angels, spirits, andthe divine service sent to serve
for the sake of those who are toinherit salvation?

gods, which he refused.
As punishment, the local judgeordered that he be stripped,
(04:37):

He was then turned over to hispagan students, numbering about
200, to be tortured to death.

Since then, no prophet hasarisen in Israel like Moses,
whom the Lord knew face to face.
He had no equal in all the signsand wonders the Lord sent him to
