desire that which is pleasingunto thee, and may accomplish it
with all his might, throughChrist our Lord, amen.

Thy kingdom come, thy will bedone, on earth as it is in
heaven.

lead us not into temptation, butdeliver us from evil, amen.
Hail Mary, full of grace, theLord is with thee.
Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy

Quote from Saint Margaret MaryAllocoke Would that I could
exhaust myself in acts ofthanksgiving and gratitude

(02:12):
towards this divine heart forthe great favor he shows us, in
deigning to accept our help tomake him known, loved, and
honored.
He reserves infinite blessingsfor all those who devote
themselves to this work.
Meditation of the Day an excerptfrom Spiritual Combat How to Win

(02:34):
Your Spiritual Battles andAttain Inner Peace by Lorenzo
Scupoli Pages two hundred andsix and two hundred and seven.
And in order that you may knowthe better how to guard yourself
against the wiles of the enemy, make it a certain rule in this
case that every thought thatdiscourages you and lessens your
love and confidence towards Godis a messenger from hell, and

(02:58):
therefore to be driven away andbanished from your presence
without an audience.
For the office of the HolySpirit is none other than always
to unite the soul on allopportunities more and more
closely with God, in kindlingand inflaming it with his sweet
love, and with fresh confidencein him, whereas the work of the

(03:21):
devil ever points in theopposite direction and consists
in the employment of all meansin his power, such as inordinate
fear, exaggeration of ournatural weakness, and scruples
as to the dispositions forconfession, communion, or
prayer, so that by thesesuggestions he may render us
distrustful, fearful, andrestless.

(03:44):
The absence of warm feelings inour devotions, of delight in our
prayers and other exercises, heuses as an opportunity for
producing impatient sadness, construing it into a sign that
all is lost, into a reason fordiscontinuing our spiritual
exercises, and finally into aground for despair, so that, do

(04:06):
what we will, we think it willbe in vain and fruitless.
Thus sadness and fear go onincreasing until we imagine that
we are forgotten by God.
But this is not the truth, forinnumerable benefits are derived
from dryness and the absence ofdevotional feelings, if only we
understood what God by thesemeans would work in us, provided

(04:28):
we on our part would exercisepatience and persevere in well
doing to the best of our power.
And that I may make this moreclear to you, and that the great
advantages that God wills tobestow upon you may not, through
your want of perception, tend toyour hurt, I will briefly state
the blessings of humbleperseverance in these dry

(04:50):
devotions, so that, bearingthese in mind, you may not lose
your inner peace.
When you suffer from thisdryness of spirit and oppression
of heart in consequence of lackof sweetness and consolation and
devotion, or of any othertemptation, however horrible it
may be.
Many blessings come to the soulthrough bitterness and dryness

(05:11):
of spirit, when it is receivedwith humility and patience.
If we understood this, doubtlesswhen we were visited in this
way, we would be less disturbedand afflicted by it, because we
would regard it not as a tokenof our Lord's hatred, but rather
of his great and special love, and we would receive it as a
signal grace that he conferredupon us.

(05:36):
Scripture verse of the day butlove your enemies, do good, and
lend, expecting nothing inreturn.
Your reward will be great, andyou will be children of the most
high, for he is kind to theungrateful and the wicked.
Be merciful, just as yourheavenly father is merciful.

presents to someone else, butthe writing I will read for you,

nobles, your wives, and yourentertainers might drink wine
from them, and you praised thegods of silver and gold, bronze

(09:41):
and iron, wood and stone, thatneither see nor hear nor have
intelligence.
But the God in whose hand isyour life breath and the whole
course of your life you did notglorify.
By him were the wrist and handsent, and the writing set down.
