is a field hospital for thewounded.
His message was clear mercyfirst.

For me personally, I will neverforget when he became pope.
I was in grade school at StFrancis of Assisi and I remember
how excited everyone was thathe had chosen the name Francis.

(03:05):
It felt like an honor to sharethe name with the new pope.
The energy was contagious.
Teachers were smiling, studentswere talking about it, and even

special.
As I grew older and began tolearn more about him, I
understood why everyone was somoved.
His humility, his love for thepoor and the way he spoke so
openly and gently about mercyand compassion.

(03:27):
He made the church feel morewelcoming, more human, and he
felt like someone who trulywalked the path of Christ.
