This month, we are reflecting on "confidence" as our Word of the Month. We are exploring a different definition: confidence as trust—trust in God’s presence, trust in a purpose that remains steadfast when our plans falter, and trust in the small steps that help us navigate through grief.

SPEAKER_00 (00:31):
Welcome back to CC Airwaves.
My name is Paige Matillo, andtoday we have another edition of
Word of the Month.
Each month we take time toreflect on a single word, one
that offers us a new lens toview our faith, our healing, and
the season we're living for.
For October, our word isconfidence.
Confidence is one of those wordswe often hear in motivational

(00:54):
speeches or see on coffee mugs.
Believe in yourself.
You've got this.
Stay confident.
But confidence in its truestform is deeper than
self-assurance or boldness.
It's about trust.
Trust in yourself, trust in yourpurpose, and ultimately trust in
God.
October is a month that asks usto walk forward with that kind

(01:15):
of confidence.
The days are shorter, the air isa little cooler, and we find
ourselves moving closer to theend of the year.
Maybe you're beginning to lookback and wonder if you've done
enough.
Maybe you're anticipatingchanges ahead.
Maybe you're unsure about thepath you're walking.
That's where confidence comesin.
Not the kind that says, I haveall the answers, but the kind

(01:37):
that says, I trust that God iswalking with me even if I don't
know where I'm going.
Confidence is showing up evenwhen you're scared.
It's putting one foot in frontof the other when you're
grieving.
It's speaking when your voiceshakes.
It's choosing to believe in thepossibility of healing, even
when it feels far away.
Confidence doesn't meanperfection.

(01:59):
It doesn't mean you're alwaysgoing to feel strong or put
together.
It means you can trust insomething greater than yourself,
that God sees your heart, youreffort, and your intentions.
And that's enough.
Scripture says, so do not throwaway your confidence.
It will be richly rewarded.
You need to persevere so thatwhen you have done the will of

(02:19):
God, you will receive what Hehas promised.
For those grieving right now, Iwant to say, you are not weak
for feeling uncertain.
You are not failing for nothaving it all figured out.
True confidence sometimes looksquiet.
Like getting out of bed on ahard day, like showing up for a
poor group, like whispering aprayer when the words don't come

(02:41):
easily.
Confidence grows in stillness.
It grows in prayer.
It grows when we begin tobelieve not just that we'll make
it through, but that God willcarry us through.
So as we move through October, ask yourself, where is God
asking me to step forward inconfidence?
Where do I need to trust moredeeply?
What is something I can do thismonth to remind myself that I am

(03:04):
not alone in the journey?
Maybe that looks like journalingyour thoughts, or maybe it's
trying something new.
Maybe it's simply saying yes toGod's invitation, even when it
feels scary.
So let this month be the monththat we reclaim our confidence,
not from the world, but fromGod.
A God who believes in us, whowalks with us, and who fills the

(03:25):
gaps when we feel uncertain.
Thank you for joining me forthis month's reflection.
I hope it encouraged you, grounded you, and reminded you
of the steady strength thatlives inside you.
I will see you next time with anew word and a new way to grow.
God bless you.
