Tom Wade is the owner of Wade Gardens Landscaping and Gift Shop, located on Possum Run Road in Mansfield. Tom started the business back in 2006, but has worked in landscaping since he was a young child. Tom is married to his wife and they have kids, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. thanks for being with us. Howare you today? Good? Thank you,
You're very welcome. Tom. Let'sbegin. If somebody doesn't know about
your business, tell us about WadeGardens Landscaping and Gift Shop. Well,
we're a full service landscape firm.We go from the design phase all the
way through to the finished product.We also have one of the larger unique

gift stores in the area. Andwe're located down on Poster Run, just
a quarter mile past Snowbrails. Allright, so located in Mansfield. And
Tom, let's kind of step back. How long has your business been in
operation? When did all this getstarted? Well, I've been in the
landscaping since I was just a littlelittle tight started with my dad and the
game Wave Gardens and six we cameover and bought Bellwood Nursery and we started

Way Gardens Landscaping and the gift shop. My wife runs the gift shop Robin,
and we've been going full forth eversince. All Right, well,
terrific to learn it's been in operationfor quite some time. If we could
step back and you mentioned you guys, do you know the full landscape everything?

It looks like you do all kindsof services in terms of lawn care.

Could you kind of list People maybe surprised you guys do quite a
bit. Could you list some ofthat. Yes, we do the active
landscaping, outdoor lighting, patios,walks, waterfalls, you know, we
do all that. We don't dolawnlowing and lawn treatment. There's a lot
of guys out there that do thatvery well, so we kind of kind
of stay out of that because westay very busy doing what we do well,

which is the acting landscaping force.We are chatting today this week's CEO.
You should know as you hear thevoice of Tom Wade this morning,
owner of Wade Gardens Landscaping and GiftShop. Now you mentioned gift shop and
your wife runs that you mentioned.It's pretty pretty unique. Could you tell
us what makes it so unique?Will I both buy there and we try

to have things that you can't buyeverywhere else. We have a three thousand
work foot gift shop and it's loaded. We have a Christmas open house coming
up November sixth to the twelfth,and it's worth the visit down now as
we talk about you for a fewmore minutes here this morning, Tom,
you mentioned located on Possum Run Road. How far do people come to see

you? Guys? Is it justnorth central o'hire? Do you get people
to come from quite a ways?Actually, we've got people for the open
house. They'll come from Akron,Toledo, Columbus, Westerville, Booster.
Yeah, Marion, it's quite adraw. Basically, we do a Our
work radius is a sixty mile radiusup here basically, so we'll go to

Columbus, per Million, Marion,Wooster to do work and they come to
us too. All right, terrific. Again, we're learning the entire story
about Wade Gardens, Landscaping and giftshop with this week's CEO. You should
know that is Tom Wade. TomLet's learn a little bit more about you.
I know all this has family ties, but let's step back to the

beginning and find out a little bitmore about you. Let's go all the
way back, if you would tellus where was Tom Wade born Bell Bell
Outside of the World's Fair. Wentto Belvelt, which turned in the Clareport,
graduated from Clipork, went to OSUfor a couple of years. We
had the guy that was running thelandscaping at my dad's place decided to move

on and I took his place,and it just carried on from there.
Now, Tom, growing up youmentioned with your father, you know,
being in this business. Did youkind of always know you'd be into this
business? Did you think, well, maybe, you know, you had
maybe other aspirations at one time,But what was it like growing up?
Did you know this would be yourline of work? I enjoyed it from
the start. I considered a hobby. And you know, if you like

your work, it's great. Youknow it is something that I don't like.
I mean, I really like doingit. I like meeting people and
seeing different projects and doing what wecan do to make them look better.
Now, in terms of your businesses, again we're chatting with Tom Wade,
owner of Wade Gardens, Landscaping andgift shop, this week's CEO. You
should know, do things vary interms of your hours? You and I

are chatting here, you know,late October looking toward November, when it's
spring at summertime, or it's falland winter. Do your hours vary at
your business somewhat? We have normalbusiness hours were open Monday through Friday,
eight to five spring summer fall.We have business hours which begin the first
of November at the open house,and we're up on Monday through Saturday,

and then we're also open on Sundaysduring that period of time. Fines in
January and February we have but whatwe call our winter hours were open Thursday,
Friday and Saturday. Tend to flyit gotcha all right? Now?
Tom? If you would you mentionedopen house for somebody that's never been there
before, could you explain kind ofwhat takes place there? In November,

our entire gift shop transforms for Christmas. The my wife and the ladies working
for us do a great job.They transform the entire shop into a Christmas
wonderland. This year, my wife'salso doing the Christmas tree at the big
house at Kingwood. They asked herto come up and decorate it. So
it kind of gives you an ideaof what she does and what people have

seen her do. And I meanthe whole shop transforms. I mean it's
absolutely awesome. Now, Tom,what is the exact date for that open
house? Again? Our open houseis November sixth to November twelfth. We
are learning this morning all about thisweek's CEO. You should know, and
that is Tom Wade, who isthe owner of Wade Gardens, Landscaping and

gift shop. Tom, a fewmore questions while we have you. It's
morning, have been great to visitwith you. Learn about the company in
terms of staff members. I don'tknow if it varies in terms of you
know, busier season maybe spring,summer, those kinds of things. But
how many staff members do you guysnormally have right around ten? Normally we
faced out around ten. It's justa nice number. We're not so big.

You don't have a finger on everything, and we like that personal touch.
Now, Tom, before I letyou go, I heard you say
wife a little bit earlier. Butlet's learn more about you. Tell us
more about Tom Wade in the family. I have my wife. We have
two children, one works for meand one lives in Saint Augustine, Florida.
We've got seven grandkids, two greatgrandchildren, so where Yeah, we're

just families growing. All right,Well, that's great to hear. Now,
how about spare time when you're notworking? What does Tom Wade do
when he's you know, not workingat the business. Do you have any
hobbies? We are actually in themode of traveling around Ohio and seeing what
is available in Ohio. We actuallygot the File magazine and we checked all
the little boxes and got all theinformation from all the different areas in Ohio.

And I'm going to tell you what. We are absolutely amazed at what's
available in Ohio. And we're takingour time and we're trying to visit a
lot of the different places loefully.All right, that sounds cool. Now,
