New research suggests that the use of dogs for animal assisted therapy with children and young people have a clear health benefit.
In the latest Ceva Sounds podcast, host, Nik Wood, talks to Professor Richard Griffioen on the subject of his published paper: ’Children and Animals in Synchrony’, which sheds light on the mechanisms that explain the effects of animal assisted interventions, using dogs and other animals, with Down Syndrome or autistic children.
Ceva was one of the sponsors of Professor Griffioen’s PhD, which resulted in the publication of the paper and his appointment as Professor of Animal Assisted Interventions at Aeres University of Applied Sciences, The Netherlands.
