Welcome to Meaningful Mondays, the Community Foundation of Middlesex County’s (CFMC) podcast sharing stories of Good People Doing Great Things – Locally!
Episode 20 – Lindsay and John Parke established the JB Parke Memorial Funds in memory of their son John Brinton “JB” Parke, who passed away in December 2021 at the age of 33 after a year-long battle with a rare, aggressive form of kidney cancer.
JB, a 2006 graduate of Coginchaug High School, loved his sports, both playing and as a spectator. He exhibited all the great sportsmanship qualities in every sport he played. JB’s spirit and memory will be kept strong through family and friends and the many kind acts of all who knew him. Lindsay joins Cynthia Clegg, CFMC, to share why she and her husband established two Funds to carry on JB’s legacy, the JB Parke Memorial Scholarship Fund which will provide education awards to graduating Coginchaug High School seniors and the JB Parke Memorial Fund which will support programs and services that benefit our community, particularly those individuals and families battling cancer and children and teens participating in youth sports.

Are You A Charlotte?
In 1997, actress Kristin Davis’ life was forever changed when she took on the role of Charlotte York in Sex and the City. As we watched Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte navigate relationships in NYC, the show helped push once unacceptable conversation topics out of the shadows and altered the narrative around women and sex. We all saw ourselves in them as they searched for fulfillment in life, sex and friendships. Now, Kristin Davis wants to connect with you, the fans, and share untold stories and all the behind the scenes. Together, with Kristin and special guests, what will begin with Sex and the City will evolve into talks about themes that are still so relevant today. "Are you a Charlotte?" is much more than just rewatching this beloved show, it brings the past and the present together as we talk with heart, humor and of course some optimism.
