The difference between nationality and race is as simple as being able to identify oil and water. Yet for so many it appears to be an impossible task. For many, many, years people of color from different countries have been using their nationality as a replacement for their actual race; as if being Black were a terrible thing. Society has brainwashed the weaker parts of us (meaning those with less pride) into accepting self hate as a way to disassociate themselves from the Black race. For each person denouncing their Blackness as a means to escape scrutiny, hatred, jealousy, envy and fear we witness a Black person who’s lost pride, respect, dignity and most importantly self worth. We’ve got to love the skin we’re in and represent ourselves unapologetically.
