Using a polarized light microscope which allowed him to view the aura of the cell under inspection he was able to develop a simple device to cure any illness. He noticed that disease organisms could be destroyed by specific frequencies of oscillations without harming healthy cells. Because this development was extremely unorthodox and presented the possibility of a great potential monetary loss to the pharmaceutical companies and the medical associations of that era, criminal charges were brought against Dr. Rife for practicing quackery.
