Welcome to chatterbox radio. Sometimes things go your
way. Sometimes they don't. Life, kids heaven. It's quite the
journey. We hope you'll join us.
Hey, Carrie Schmidt. Hi, CarrieFarris. I'm so excited that

(00:26):
you're here with me today todiscuss your book. We were just
talking for like 30 seconds. Andshe's like, so what do you think
of the book? And I'm like, I'mhitting a record right now.
Because I want to tell herfirsthand. I don't want this to
be the second time. But yeah, this book right here.
Under uncover the truth, connectto your power, passion and

(00:49):
purpose. The name of the book iscalled behind the screen by
Carrie Schmidt. And I didn'tseek her out. She didn't seek me
out. This was a blessing thatcame to me this book was for me.
I know. And I, I want to shareit with all of you. How I Met
Carrie was through a mentalhealth panel that we were on and

(01:12):
through rich Bennett. And Idon't know, how did you meet
reg. So I was on an a podcastconnection thing called pod
match. And I think I met richthrough pod match. Because when
I published the book, I've beenon like, over 50 podcasts, I was

(01:32):
just like the podcast Queen forlike, eight months after I
published the book. So I metrich through that. And we really
connected when we were recordingthe episode for his. And we
talked about mental health. AndI'm like, I am such a mental
health advocate. And I just feellike we need to get the
information out there to people.
And I want people to know thatyou're not alone. If you're

(01:53):
struggling behind the screen, whatever, you might view that
screen as there's so manydifferent
ways to view it. But if you'restruggling, if you're stuck in
any type of darkness, depression, anxiety, just
thoughts of suicide,I want to be a light that shines

(02:13):
for you and shows you that it'snot easy life is not easy. I
mean, we go through hills andvalleys we have as a parent, I'm
a single mother. Soyou know, it's not easy. I've
struggled, I still struggle. Soyou know, and I think that we

(02:33):
need to open up and we need toshare our stories and share our
truth versus trying to put onthis facade of everything's
okay, when it's not. Because ifwe could open up and be more
true and vulnerable withourselves, I think we could
spread more love and make thisworld a better place, versus the
judgment, comparison, criticism, all of the other stuff that goes

(02:58):
on. So I just felt like, Ineeded to share that. And so
yeah, Rich and I connectedthrough mental health awareness.
And then I just keep makingthese divine connections, like
with you, Carrie Farris. So I'mjust grateful. I'm grateful for
the platform and the avenue.

(03:18):
Yes. So thank you so much forbeing here. I don't know if you
can see the screen right now.
Can you see your screen? Yeah.
And the technology, it's kind offuzzy. And so sometimes that
will happen, and it'll end upbeing okay. But I'm, I'm like,
the irony of it. Because like, behind the screen, and like it's

(03:39):
shattered. And can you see yourscreen right now? Does it look
fine? Yes, my looks good. Itdoes. Okay. Okay. So, anyway,
I'm just sitting here thinkinglike, wow, you know, like, that
whole symbolism of it. Becausethat's what you talk about is
behind the screen, and yourscreen is going like nuts on my

(03:59):
end. And so exactly, like, Whatdo you mean, like behind the
screen when you're talking aboutthat? I'm in your book. So
there's a couple different waysto look at it. So you could look
at it behind the screen ofsocial media, we look at social
media, and we scroll through andwe like and, you know, we love
and wewe view other people's lives.

(04:20):
But it's not always the truth.
It's not always real.
I write in the, in the book, Isay, you know, you could look at
this picture, perfect family, this picture on social media,
where, you know, the husband andwife, they're so in love and
their kids are so happy. And youview it from that perspective.

(04:42):
But right before thephotographer snapped that
picture, they could have justhad the biggest fight of their
lives and they could be goingthrough a divorce and you just
wouldn't know that becauseit's fake, right? You we you
know, edit these pictures andvideos and make it look like
perfectand life just isn't perfect.
There's so much that goes onbehind the screen that you don't

(05:04):
know about, you know, you couldlook at, I say you could look at
a woman with a fancy ring. Andit's just bling bling, where her
husband is a narcissist, andshe's miserable and dying
inside, you just never know. Sothat's one way to look through
the screen the other way, I talka lot about the power of our
mind in the book and thedifference between your

(05:26):
conscious and subconscious mind.
And I didn't realize this stuff,I didn't know it until I was in
my 30s. So I dove down therabbit hole researching the
fundamentals of like psychologyand neuroscience and quantum
physics. And it's like, holycrap, our subconscious mind runs

(05:46):
our life 90% of the time. And asadults, sometimes we're
operating in our lives byautopilot. And so the screen is
getting into your subconsciousmind and kind of clearing out
some of the faulty programs thathave been installed. You know,
childhood programming, if youwent through trauma, if you went

(06:08):
through any type of abuse, or,you know, even if it's emotional
abuse, or verbal abuse, thosethoughts and feelings become
wired into your subconsciousmind in your body. And then
later on in life, myselfincluded, we are, you know,
reacting to triggers, triggersfrom people triggers from our

(06:31):
environment, and then it bringsup our subconscious is so
powerful, it brings up thosefeelings from the past that
you're not even conscious of,but then it could negatively
impact your results in life. Sothat's another way to look at
the screen as our subconsciousprogramming. I've read slash

(06:52):
listened to like 200 books inthe past two years, just
devoured, right learning andknowing because I'll learn
something about myself that Ididn't know before. And I'm
like, I want to dig a littledeeper. What does that mean, my
kids, my husband, just because Iwant to seek a great life, you
know, and incorporate all of thethings. And so I started reading

(07:14):
the book, I took a picture of itand emailed you and I'm like,
Okay, I'm just gonna be honest,I've read a lot of books, listen
to a lot of books. First thingthat you kind of started
mentioning was Gabby Bernstein,Wayne Dyer, all those people
that I love that I listened to.
And like what you're talkingabout growing up, you know, I
mean, I had a couple of realrevelations. And I went to my

(07:37):
mom, and I was like, this, thisand this. And she was like, oh,
Wayne Dyer. I've been listeningto him since the 70s. And I'm
like, Why didn't you tell me anyof this? She was like, You're so
young. Why don't you tell methese things? This is so
enlightening, because I canincorporate my spirituality, my
growth, the way that I grew up,people call religious, you know,

(08:00):
my Christian beliefs, andincorporate these things. That
seems just to make a lot more, you know, sense to me. So my
point is, read all these books.
They're amazing. I have dovedeep into my spirituality, my
walk my journey, let me tell youwhat's different about this

(08:22):
book. And why I love it so much,is because of that of all the
books that I've read, there'sbeen some really great
direction, and some goodstories. A lot of the ideals are
good, right? very applicable.
years is like, I'm digging intothese stories in this book. And

(08:43):
I am in it with you girl all theway and love it and can relate
to it, not just my own life. Butwhen you talk about the teenage
years, and the examples and whatyou did, like I did that my dad
was just like that differentcircumstances. I dated boy like

(09:03):
that, that happened to me, thathappened to me. I'm outside last
night having dinner with mykids. And I'm kind of all over
the place. But this is how muchI love this book. And I want
everybody that's listening tothis test, go preview it before
you buy it, because you're gonnabuy it. It's amazing. So I'm
reading this, and it even mademe think about the relationships

(09:25):
with my children, because youtalk about your sister, and you
talk about the words that shesaid to you for years and years.
Going back to what you just saidearlier about the subconscious
and the programming. And I'm notkidding you. It was like last
night and a light bulb went onand I just went Alright girls,
listen to this. Yeah. You justwalked out here and you just

(09:49):
totally reamed your brother withthe most negative words. All
right, come here. And I'm notpointing you out. Number fourth
child. I'm pointing all of youout. Am I
Self, because every time you doit, it's going in there in
there. This is what happened tothis girl, listen to this. And

(10:10):
the nine year old, the 14 yearold, the 18 year old went.
Never thought that.
So there were just so manynuggets in this. Like that is
that's the reason why I wrotethis book, like, oh my god, what
you just said, Carrie makes myheart so happy, it makes me

(10:31):
almost want to cry. Becausethis, that was my intention with
sharing these stories that likecaused me so much pain and just
suffering throughout my life.
And it's like, okay, how can Iuse my stories to help others.
And that's really what I want todo is I want to help our
children, our children, mychildren, your children, get
better at life and realize thatwords have power. Our thoughts

(10:55):
have so much power, you know, and if and if they could
understand that at a youngerage, then they might choose
differently, choose to talk totheir siblings differently
choose to, you know, show updifferently in life. Oh,

(11:18):
exactly my point, because I tellmy kids all the time. I know I'm
discovering new things aboutmyself. And there are things
that I've discovered over theyears. But I want to teach you
this because no one taught methis at your age. And if I knew
this at your age, it would havehelped me in my decision making.

(11:40):
And everything that I did. Yeah, same your boyfriend's your
school just and where you'rebeing led. So that it leads me
know another question that Ihave for you. Because I'm
curious, because, you know, somepeople will listen to this,
you're about Christians.
There are people that are stilltrying to figure things out, or

(12:01):
maybe go away from that, orthey're just on that spiritual
journey, trying to figure thingsout. So you have several
stories, and I don't can't bringthem all up here. And I could
pull out, you know, your son orTrey or Colt, you know, those
people. But what do you thinkwhat story was pivotal for you

(12:25):
in your life, and you'rechanged, because I don't want to
give it all away. But she grewup in a pretty rough household.
My heart goes out to you know, teenagers should be left alone,
like that. You can imagine whenthat happens.
Thank you.

(12:46):
Um, so what story has had themost impact on on me is that
pivotal change, was it your sonwas having my son, my son was
that it kind of seemed, yeah, myson was the pivotal change. For
me. It was like,I was so scared. I used to have
dreams. Like when I waspregnant, because I went through

(13:06):
a really rough pregnancy. Thefather was abusive,
more so mentally abusive, andjust not healthy. And so it was
a rough pregnancy. And I was soscared to have the child because
I never even changed the baby'sdiaper before. I had my son. Oh,

(13:31):
yeah, I swear to God, you againme like 23. I was 25. When I had
him, yes.
Anyway, I would have dreamed Ihad, I remember having a dream
before he was born that thedoctor pulled the chicken out.
And the chicken didn't have anybetter than that. And I was

(13:52):
like, Okay, put him back in.
He's not ready. And and so Ithink subconsciously, I was so
afraid. I mean, I was sleepingon my sister's couch, like, you
know, eight months pregnant andjust afraid of how I'm going to
raise this child because I wasin an unhealthy relationship.
And it just wasn't, wasn't good.

(14:13):
Anyway, my son was born and itwas like a light bulb turned on.
It was like God shinedeverything in front of me and
said, This is why you're here.
And it just everything shifted.
For me. I was like, I can doanything because I'm doing it
for him. I'm doing it for thisinnocent baby who just grew
inside of me. So it completelyshifted my whole outlook on

(14:36):
life. I just wanted to getbetter before him. I was in
survival mode. I was just tryingto survive and I had I turned
off all of my caring I turnedoff all of my feeling and filled
it with drugs and alcohol andpartying and everything else
that could allow me theopportunity to not feel the

(14:59):
pain.
I mean, that I felt for so long, right? And those become
suppressed emotions, and thosesuppressed emotions will stick
with you throughout life. Well,I didn't know any of that I was
just trying to survive. Youknow, I didn't have anybody to
rely on, I didn't have a familyreally. So I was just trying to

(15:23):
survive. But then once I had myson, it's like, I don't matter
anymore. Nothing else matters.
This innocent life matters. Andso I'm going to do everything in
my power to devote my time, energy and attention to making
sure he's fine. And that's whatI did for. I mean, I've been
doing it, he's now 16. And I'mso blessed, because my son has

(15:44):
not done drugs. Alcohol isn't inthe girls doesn't party like
he's into his health andfitness, eating healthy working
out. It's like, I'm, I'm amazed.
But it was a, it really does, like I can I can testify to if

(16:07):
you just, you know, fill yourkids up with positive words and
positive energy and try to justgive them the best. And that's
that's what I tried to do. SoI'm blessed.
So did you grow up in any kindof spiritual atmosphere or

(16:28):
religious background? Yeah, so Iwas raised Catholic. And, you
know, I say my prayers, I'llstill bless myself and but as I
got older, I couldn't, Icouldn't understand this praying
to a god in the sky. Like it waslike it. There's just too much

(16:49):
humaneness for this. God, right.
And soI believe in a higher power, I
believe in God, okay. But Ithink that religions separate
us. And it's like, okay, youhave to follow this particular
religion, but I can judge you.
That's not fair. I don't thinkthat that's what it is, I

(17:10):
believe that I Am that I Am, isthe spirit, the soul that's
breathing each and every one ofus is God, we have God inside of
us. We are one with him. I thinkthat's what Jesus and Buddha and
all the spiritual teachers havetried to show us is that your
thoughts, feelings, and actionsbecome your reality. And so when

(17:34):
you can connect to yourspiritual power within and
choose that versus the ego, likeI talk a lot about ego versus
spirit, and you can look at lifethrough an egoic perspective,
and you're going to live thatparticular life or you can look
at life through a spiritualperspective. And you'll see
different results, your your, your, your viewpoint of every

(17:56):
situation becomes your ownreality.
So, you know, whatever religionor somebody believes in, I
believe in spirituality, Ibelieve in that there's one
higher power that connects usall, and we're all connected.
And when we can tap into thatpower within us, we can become

(18:18):
better at life. And when Ibecome better at life, I have a
ripple effect on those aroundme. And so then it all just
right. Yeah, you sir, do so,like with the bug, what you were
just saying, it's like,I can read this, relate to it.
Use your stories to get my pointacross to myself, my family,

(18:42):
whoever I'm reading it to, butto also, how am I trying to say,
it's not like you're trying toteach the Certain Way of
spirituality in this book. It islike a life coach.
program, that if you feel stuck, and if you want to live your

(19:06):
ultimate purpose, power, youknow, passion, here is a formula
to fall to follow. And you haveus create this timeline.
And you've created these wordsto go with it, like tag it. That
would be I'm thinking back in mychildhood and oh, this very

(19:28):
traumatic event happened that isstill stuck right here. Right?
And you help walk through thatyou tag it and I'm gonna get it
all wrong, feel it? You know, all the things, several steps
you eventually released itbecause one thing you said that
is profound and amazing and Ilove to we were talking about it

(19:52):
last night wasI don't know if everybody
realizes but energy. It's howwould you know it's okay.
energy cannot be created ordestroyed, it can only be
transformed. Everything isenergy, the only thing you can
do is shift the energy. And wecan go from a low vibration to a
high vibration. And there'sactually the map of

(20:15):
consciousness. Like there's somuch that goes into it that when
you understand the science, likewhat I like to call the science
behind spirituality, just applyit to your life, you can make
such a difference when youunderstand that. So yeah, it
can't be created or destroyed,it can only be transformed. So
how can you transform the energythat you're holding on to?

(20:36):
Right?
Yeah, because it's this visualthat you give, and it made me
really think about it. I'm like,Okay, for those of you that
don't want to deal or, or maybeyou're like, that's way too
woowoo. That's not spirituality, you can apply your own beliefs
and spirituality to the program.
And when you do you realize, byme stuffing that for so long, no

(21:01):
telling where it's stuck in mybody, but I can get rid of it.
And the lie is that you can't.
And the truth is that you canand that you have to choose to
do it. And so I've talked aboutthe pain body before, well, that
pain body is you not wanting toget rid of it, let it sit in

(21:23):
there, because you kind of likeit. You can like swing around in
that stuff sometimes because itgives you an excuse helps you to
justify things. And I'm sayingall this because I'm talking
about myself, you know, so it'sbeen a real, figuring out this
whole ego thing, right? Becauseyou're like, Well, you gotta
have ego to wake up in themorning and take shower. But

(21:47):
that ego can go way on to an offinto another rabbit trail and in
direction. Yeah. So with thisbook, that's kind of my circle
back around when I was talkingto you about your spirituality,
that I think this is foreveryone. And then it's not a
woowoo thing. Why do I hear thatall the time? I just do? Well, I

(22:11):
think and that's why I tried toprovide so many statistics and
so much science to kind ofexplain the woundedness like,
when people say woowoo, it's, Ithink it's ignorance, you're not
educated in the science that canback everything that we're

(22:33):
saying. Right, and, and I mean, there's new science, they're
rewriting the science textbooks, because in just the in just the
2000s, they have found out somuch more information about the
power of our mind, and thesynaptic connections, and the
neurons and the vagus nerve andour reticular activating system,

(22:57):
like all of these things that, you know, the reticular
activating system, to me is oneof the most powerful things to
understand, it's located in theback of our brain in the
brainstem. And whatever you'repaying attention to in your
daily world, your reticularactivating system is going to
filter into your awareness, moreof that. So for instance, if you

(23:19):
just bought a new car, andyou're driving, and you start
seeing that car everywhere, it'snot because they manufactured a
bunch of those cars this monthand release them in your area,
it's because your reticularactivating system is paying
attention to that car. So thesame is true if you vision your
ideal man or woman or yoursoulmate, or this person that

(23:42):
you want to spend the rest ofyour life with, you can start
to, you know, visualize whatthat person looks like, what are
their values? What did they do?
How do they show up in theworld, and then your reticular
activating system will startpaying attention to that,
because we have so much stimulithat we encounter on a daily
basis in our environment, andespecially with social media and

(24:02):
the internet, like, there's somuch information that our brains
are trying to filter through. Sowhy visualization is important.
And the law of attraction makessense, is because our reticular
activating system is then goingto start to filter those
particular things and say, Oh,here you go carry pay attention

(24:24):
to that. Okay, thank you. So wecan actually program our minds
to work for us versus againstus. Yes. And this is the first
time that I've read or heardanyone explain the other side of
it. For years and years, it'sall you see on Facebook people

(24:45):
talking is, oh, this is myvision board. And I'm going to
manifest that. And yes, that'sgood. But there's this very
generichoki way of three cells deep is
what I call it, right? You'renot really, you're not going
very deep on three cells deephere, but in us on here I go, I

(25:08):
want to vote, I want tovacation. That's good. But the
way you describe it and why thismanifestation is what it is, can
you repeat, or I'll get thisbook out. And I'll just read it
to everybody what you said. ButI read it to the family last
night. And I'm like, That'struth and told my 18 year old
who has 100 friends going hermanifesting, but we don't

(25:32):
believe in anything, right? Oh,my gosh. So you know what? Out?
Yes, 100%. And, in fact, I'mgoing to do like a Facebook Live
when we get off of this podcastto just teach it because I keep
telling myself, I want to teachthese principles to the world.
Like I'm a really smart person,I can I can do anything. And
it's like, I have this passionto get this information out to
people, especially ourteenagers, because they need to

(25:54):
know this. They need tounderstand the why behind these
things. I want to speak at highschools or colleges. Yes. So
yeah, the power of our mind ifwe can just understand the power
of our mind. And the law ofattraction is based upon your
your, your thoughts and yourfeelings. And where you're

(26:17):
placing your attention is whereyour energy goes. Right. So it's
your reticular activatingsystem, what you pay attention
to, it's going to filter intoyour awareness, more of that,
whatever it is that boat, right.
But you this is what I telleverybody, you can't stop there.
Okay, great. You have a visionboard. That's great. But you got
to take that board and make itway more specific. You have to

(26:38):
write out where do you want tobe in your life three years from
now. So closures, close youreyes, pretend like you get into
a time machine, turn the dialthree years into the future. And
when you open your eyes, I wantyou to explain to me the life
that you're living. But at thesame time, how are you feeling?
Because what we leave out is thelaw of resonance. What is

(26:59):
resonance, I am a tuning fork inthe universe, my thoughts and
feelings are an antenna for theuniverse to give me more of what
I'm thinking and feeling. So ifI'm thinking negative things
about myself and others, I'mfeeling pretty shitty. And
therefore I'm gonna get thosesame results. From thinking

(27:21):
positive things about myself andothers, I'm feeling good, I'm
feeling confident, I'm gonna getdifferent results than the
person that's thinking theshitty things.
So the law of resonance isreally your energy, it's your
vibration. Energy is vibration.
So if you're vibrating high, you're gonna attract more high

(27:41):
vibes. If you're vibrating low, you're going to attract more low
vibes. But the key is to gaincontrol over your energy at any
given moment in time. So if Inotice, my thoughts or feelings
are not in alignment with myvision board with my idea of
what I would love, then I haveto pause and I have to shift my

(28:05):
energy in the moment to becomemore in line with my dream.
That's how you manifest themanifestation part is applying
the energy, the resonance, justlike the tuning fork, right? So
you attract who you are. Youdon't you don't get what you

(28:29):
want also helps you do thethings that you need to do.
Right, you have to take action.
Yes. Right. You have to takeaction, you just can't sit back
and say, Oh, I wasn't there anddoing.
Yeah, well, some people reallydo believe that they make a
board or put it there and thenthey meditate and they just

(28:49):
think on it.
That it will come to them. Butthat thinking on it for me when
I'm meditating, that's where Iget my answers. That's where I
get the filled up with a powerGod. That's where I feel quiet.
That's where I feel like I canhear His voice. That's where I
can go higher and, and rate. Imean, people as a woowoo

(29:12):
vibration. Well, it's a factthat your energy has levels. And
when I'm praying to my God andJesus Christ, I feel my energy
go up. So call it with whateveryou want, right? I'm praying
that and I'm there and I'm,that's where I'm receiving my
answers every day and I feellike he tells me, the Holy

(29:33):
Spiritpresses upon me. My next steps.
You have to do those next steps.
I don't do those next steps,then I won't manifest what my
dreams are. And sometimesit just takes you trying because
it sets it in motion. I feellike God sees that you're trying

(29:56):
and is coming to supportYou and that energy to push you
along. Right? And so absolutely, they're not doing anything. And
thenthat's it. But no, that makes so
much sense. And when you getquiet and you you hear through
your intuition, like you said, you get the answers, or the
ideas, ideas right? There. Theidea is the power, but it's your

(30:22):
willpower to take the action totake a step forward towards that
idea. So when we vision, thelife we would love, and then we
go within and say, Okay, what'sone thing I can do today, that's
going to move me a little stepcloser, you get that idea, the

(30:42):
intuition, and you take anaction. So I say it's baby steps
every single day, what's onething that I can do to move me a
little bit closer, show up forthis podcast, make a phone call,
do a Facebook Live, whateverthose things are? I send emails
to high schools and collegesevery day. And I don't usually

(31:03):
get anything back. But I send anemail saying I would love to do
a free workshop for yourstudents. Bring me in, I have
books. Let me speak to them forfree. Okay.
But I'm taking those actions,because I know, I don't get very

(31:25):
many responses, but I'm notgiving up. Yeah. So it, those
are just some examples of littlethings. And I do little things
every single day, that's goingto move me a step closer to find
my next client, right, who I'mgoing to change, I'm going to
help them change their life. I'mnot doing the work they are, but

(31:46):
I empower you to do the work.
And I empower you to take thosesteps. So when you have this
thought, and this idea, and youwant to do it, but then you're
scared. It's the fear, doubt andworry, that's the ego. That's
the egoic version in your headsaying, Don't do ego go, why
does your ego because when wethink of ego, we think, Oh, you
think so great to yourself orwhatever. Not just that it's

(32:09):
like, opinions as I'm right.
You're wrong about everything, you know, kind of thing. But
it's so much more than that. Theego, why does the ego say you
can't do that? You're ugly. Andyou won't like you, you know,
whatever it is, what is the Ithink it's one it's childhood

(32:33):
programming. So there's voicesthat are saying you're ugly,
there's a, there's a connectionbetween whatever you heard,
because again, the subconsciousbrain is just a program. And it
is downloaded, it's a downloadfrom your childhood. So anything
you heard, experienced felt, isthen logged into your

(32:55):
subconscious program. So thenwhen you go to take an action
that goes against your beliefsystem that's wired into you,
that's when the fear the doubt, the worry, those voices come up.
So you have to identify thatfear is never gonna go away.
But you can befriend your fear, you can say, Okay, I have my

(33:19):
clients name, their voice. So myone client right now, we named
his voice bill. So we say shutthe EFF up, Bill. So like every
time he hears bill, okay, I named mine Tina. So
every time I hear Tina, tell me,you know, you're gonna fail. I'm
gonna say, okay, Tina, you cango away today cuz I'm taking

(33:40):
action anyway.
Oh, my gosh, I love that. Okay,so, and this is this is what I
want to teach people is thatthose voices put a name to that
voice. That way, the next timeyou hear that voice, you say,
shut up. Bill, Tina, Judy, whatever you want to call them.

(34:01):
That's right. Okay. And then howthat's right. Okay. But here's
the key. The key is tounderstand that the fear, doubt
and worry is, this is ourfight or flight. Okay, so our
bodies are wired for survival.
When we are taking steps to getoutside of our comfort zone, or

(34:25):
do something that we haven'tdone yet, that is your wiring to
say, No, I want to protect you.
I want to keep you knowing whatyou already know. And sometimes
that stuck in a terriblerelationship that you're
miserable in and you're dying.
But because you are afraid totake action to get out of that

(34:46):
relationship, you stay stuckbecause it's comfortable. Your
Comfort Zone is there. Soanything you do that's going to
step you outside of that comfortzone, your your central nervous
system is going to say ooh,No, you shouldn't do that.
Right? And that's, that's billand Tina saying, Nope, you
shouldn't do that. But I knowthat I can only grow. When I

(35:08):
step outside of my comfort zone, that's the only time I grow.
Otherwise, I'm staying in the,in my space.
Right? Right, not movingforward, just kind of reading in
spirit and in the same spot, thehamster wheel. So you know, 90%

(35:30):
of people stay stuck, they staystuck in a job they don't like
they stay stuck in arelationship that is depleting
them from the inside out. Theystay stuck in their current
reality, and they think there'snothing I can do. Well, I'm here
to tell you, there's so manythings that you can do. Okay,

(35:53):
and I can give you a list andhelp you, you know, get past
those things. But understandingthe fundamentals, energy,
vibration, frequency, thefundamentals of life, Nikola
Tesla, Albert Einstein, likethese people tried to tell us
this since the 1900s. And here,we are still not understanding

(36:15):
that that is the route of life.
Yeah, so I want to encouragepeople, you know, I think one of
the first steps is to get herbook, and practice her teaching
in it. You know, the timeline, the target, see how that goes.
Maybe you don't want to do thatshe has a 12 week program. Can
you tell us a little bit moreabout that you are like your

(36:38):
title, you are a life coach, youare an author. You're a writer,
you're an encourager, and you'reall the things that will read
your tagline be.
So I'm a life and businesssuccess coach, I help you go
from feeling stuck to feelingfulfilled. If you feel stuck,
not knowing what's next in life,I help you over the course of 12

(37:00):
weeks, define what you wouldreally love in life, create a
blueprint for that life, okay, because you can't get to your
dream, you have to come from it.
That's what my mentor MaryMorrissey says. So we define
what you would really love. Andthen we uncover what's holding
you back, the limiting beliefs, the repressed emotions, the

(37:21):
childhood programming, all thethings that are holding you back
from resonating with yourvision. from achieving your
vision, we go through we doforgiveness practices, we turn a
sense of lack into a feeling ofabundance. Because like we said,
you know, the law of attractionis real, you have to define what

(37:42):
you would love. But the law ofresonance is the most important
thing, you have to become thatperson that is in your dream.
You have to you have to identifywhere your own way of thinking
is holding you back so that youcan reprogram your mind, I help

(38:02):
my clients reprogram their wayof thinking, I help them
identify their limiting beliefs.
Notice when they arestuck in that belief system or
thinking those thoughts and helpthem identify so that they can
overcome it. And the reason whywe do 12 week programs is

(38:23):
because it takes 12 weeks tostart to reprogram your way of
thinking, feeling and acting.
This isn't just a get, you know, get better quick, you can't just
take a pill toyou know, make your life better,
you have to do the work. So ifyou're willing to do the work, I
help you and give you thesupport and the encouragement

(38:45):
that you need. But I've alsobeen doing the work like my
seven step system that I teachin the book, I have applied it
to my life over the past 10years. And I've seen it work
time and time again. So yeah, Iwanted to know,
a story. Like you have so manystories in this book. And it's

(39:08):
kind of where I was going in thebeginning a little bit about one
of your stories because I canpick out a story in here for you
to tell about what's the mostmeaningful to you. And your
transition. Um, you know, it'shard, it's hard to, it's hard to
pick any one of those, you know,in writing the book and telling

(39:31):
the story is about growing up,and my sister, you know, kind of
criticizing me a lot and myparents getting divorced and
just all of that really shapedwho I am, I guess as a person.
It's made me a lot stronger, alot more independent, right? And

(39:52):
I think that it's given me morepower to have a voice.
So instead of going intoThe bad stories I'd rather share
good story ofrelocating to South Carolina. So
I grew up in Pittsburgh where itwas always kind of gray sky and
snowy and I always wanted toleave this small town. I mean,

(40:13):
the town I was raised in hasless than 20,000 people. And it
was like everybody just kind ofdid the same. So it's called
Sharon, Pennsylvania.
It's actually the originalQuaker Steak and lube is in
Sharon, Pennsylvania, if you'veever heard of Quaker Steak, and
lube, they're now franchises allover the place. But the original

(40:36):
one was in Sharon, and I used towork there.
ButI talked about my father passing
away in the book.
And my dad, and I didn't havethe best relationship when I was
younger. And so we got closer asI became an adult, and my son

(40:58):
was in the picture.
But on Father's Day, he wentinto the hospital about 10 years
ago, with pneumonia. And withintwo days, his lungs and his
kidneys had shut down, and hewas on life support. My sister
and I had to make the decisionto take him off of life support.

(41:20):
And it was very, very hard.
When, you know, he was gone, Iwas on the hospital floor, just
crying. And when I walked out ofthe hospital room that day, it
was kind of like my wholeperspective of life shifted.
It can be gone tomorrow, younone of us know when our last

(41:43):
days coming. We don't know howit's gonna happen. But life
flies by in the blink of an eye,and it's very short. And so I
made the decision after myfather passed away to really
start living with intention andpurpose and to not allow the
fear or my current conditions tohold me back because it can be

(42:03):
gone tomorrow.
So that's when I decided that Iwas going to start taking action
and make my dream of movingsouth and living somewhere with
blue skies and sunshine and nosnow, a reality. I was able to
do that, because I startedtaking action, I started
applying to jobs, and finallygot an offer went to tell my

(42:26):
boss that I was going to quit, and he said, we're going to
relocate you. So I said, Okay,so I got to stay in the same
company, you know, and got relocated to
Charlotte, North Carolina.
So if, you know, it just justgoes to show through
experience that if you put yourmind to something, and you're

(42:48):
not willing to take no for ananswer, and you continue looking
for ways to move that dreamforward, one baby step, apply to
jobs, ask for opportunities, youknow, all of those things, you
can actually manifest yourdreams into reality, and I look
outside, it's blue skies, sunshine, I can walk outside and

(43:11):
flip flops pretty much anytimeof the year. Yeah, and I love my
life, and I have co created mylife. And so that is, you know,
even if you read the darkstories of my past and the
trauma and the problems, and youcan relate to those, I want you
to also know and relate to thepositive side that you can turn
your dreams, your visions intoreality, you can live in a place

(43:34):
where you would really love tolive, you can start your own
business, you could write thatbook, you can be a successful
single mother, whatever thatmight be. But just just know
that if I can do it, you coulddo it so we can all we can all
get better. Andwe can manifest our life to
shit, too. Yeah, absolutely.

(43:56):
Keep programming and thinkingabout the negative things. And
what I'm most in awe about youcarry it is that will all of us
go through things. We can'tescape this life without issues.
obstacles, things not workingout.
Some people have just more of anegative side to them. Where No,

(44:20):
I didn't know it wasn't gonnameant to be I knew it wasn't
gonna work out. I put myself outthere and it just all collapse
and see what happened. And a lotof people like that. That's what
holds us back. And then that'swhy I kept pushing you like,
what was it about carrying? I'msitting here and you're talking
and I'm like, I really thinkit's your gift. You've been

(44:42):
given a gift, you know, and soyou're sharing it to help others
because it doesn't comenaturally for a lot of people to
be positive like that. Yeah, andI'm not always positive like I
don't want to paint a fakepicture that I'm always positive
because it's it's really hard. Imean,
and I coached myself on theprinciples that I coach my

(45:03):
clients on on a daily basis. IfI notice, I'm thinking negative
thoughts, I tried to pull myselfout of them. Like, literally,
this morning, I was laying inbed
replaying an argument that myboyfriend and I had had, and I
realized that my breath wasshort, and my heart was racing,
and I was laying therereplaying this argument in my

(45:25):
head and my feelings, you know, like, it's not healthy, it's not
healthy to stay stuck in thoseareas. So I was like, Okay, get
up out of bed, like, pullyourself out of this rut carry,
because it's, it's how we reactto those thoughts and feelings
that cause our results. So Icould continue to lay there and

(45:48):
be stressed out having anxiety, and then you know, continue to
have a bad day, or I can makethe decision to get my butt up
and shift my energy so that Ican show up better, you know, I
try to get better on a dailybasis. And that, I think that's
if every single one of us couldjust try to get better on a

(46:09):
daily basis. And give yourselfsome grace. You know, I think we
need to give ourselves somegrace. Sometimes too many people
are hard on themselves. I'm hardon myself too. And I try to give
myself grace. And I try topractice as much self love as
possible, and just immerse my,my attention in areas that are
serving versus depleting.

(46:36):
Well, you know, another thingyou said in the book was, I was
like, Oh, my gosh, no one's eversaid that. You were talking
about the childhood and ourpatterns? And then when you
said, sometimes they can No, no,if you said a sway us away more
spiritually. We can also go sodeep in like, say, if you were

(46:58):
raised with someone who is verycritical, or perfection, or need
to do this, because I was around that, and
it made me look at myself, and,and the things that you were
saying, I was like, no way thattotally correlates. Like
sometimes I question, am Ievaluating this? Am I going so

(47:18):
deep that I need to just let go,I know that I've already done
it, it's fine. Just let it go.
And that, I think, is really oneissue that you brought up that I
had never even thought aboutbefore? Yes, sometimes we have
to show hypercritical ofyourself that you can't. Even if

(47:42):
you're aware, you can stay stuckinside does that it does in
fact, set it you're the one thatsays better. Well, it's written
on my bathroom mirror. So in mybathroom is like my notes to
myself, my little affirmationsand things. So my note this past
week was let go let God and bepositive. And I that I use a dry

(48:06):
erase marker and I write it onmy mirror. And it's just a
reminder, when I look at themirror, I say, Okay, let go, let
God and just focus on beingpositive. And if you just do
that, you'll you'll you'll seeit, you'll see it start to just
start coming in your in yourlives. And that, to me, becomes
so much, much more motivating.

(48:31):
So when I put it into practice, and they see it, it just makes
me more motivated to continue toit. And awareness is our
superpower. Sorry, awareness isour superpower, when we can
become aware, in every presentmoment, have the thoughts that
are going through my head. Andif I notice that they're
negative, I want to stop and Iwant to replace them with

(48:54):
positive affirmations. Becausethose negative thoughts are
getting you nowhere. They'regetting you nowhere fast. But if
you can notice, practicing thatgood say okay, my affirmations
like if I'm driving and I don'thave an affirmation or whatever.
I've told my kids this is whatwe do. Like if I'm feeling sorry
for myself, and I'm reallystarting to go down those trails

(49:16):
of thoughts and say thank youthat I'm healthy today. Thank
you I'm not sick. Thank you thatI love my husband thank You that
You gave me husband, thank youfor kids, thank you for thank
you for my car thank you for andI just add it to like start with
the littlest things and thenjust go and go and then you
start feeling a shift thosethoughts go away. Yep, I am in

(49:37):
control of my thoughts. I am incontrol of my emotions, right I
am I am are the two mostpowerful words you can use. And
anytime you say I am. First ofall, your subconscious doesn't
know the difference betweenwhat's real and what's fake. So
that's another science behindaffirmations. Why affirmations

(49:58):
work is because you'resubconscious does not know the
difference between what's realand what is fake. So the more
you say I am healthy, I amloved. I am grateful, I am in
control of my thoughts, I am incontrol of my emotions. I am so
happy and grateful for the moneythat flows into my life. All of
those things your subconscioushears, and it's taking note. So

(50:22):
the more and more you say thosethings, the more and more you
just program your mind tobelieve it and attract it. Amen.
Sister, we are here, listen toyou preach all day.
Thank you so much. This has beenso amazing. It's awesome. I'm so

(50:45):
happy I want you back. I want usto keep in touch okay to be my
coach, I want two things. Butfirst, I'm gonna finish this.
And in the back, you have likethe little journal, the
questions, the worksheets youcan work through, it shows you
how to do the timelines, how totag it, release it, all that
stuff. So if someone wants toget a hold of you for life

(51:09):
