Speaker 1 (00:01):
Hey, it's Domain Dave from CheapWineFindercom.
Again, we do another winereview.
We write up the reviews withall the links to the websites
for all these things on there, and we have a website that has
well, we got rid of the oldest, oldest wines, but we've been
doing this since 2008.
So if you're interested in avalue-priced wine, check it out.

(00:24):
There's a lot of wines in there.
You know, usually with valueprice wines, the last few
vintages are the only ones thatmatter, but there's a lot of
stuff in there.
So what we have today is theBear Brothers California
Sauvignon Blanc 2023 at $7.99 atAldi.
Aldi Aldi's been really slowthis year.

(00:46):
They really haven't had toomany new wines, but that's okay.
So I went for the wine that Ithink we did the 2020 vintage of
this.
I checked the California WineCola Registry.
Everybody has to get theirlabel approved, has to go
through this, and there'sinformation on the wines who

(01:09):
made it, and this one isregistered to Souter Home.
Souter Home's a big label, butmost of their wines are
non-vintage.
This is a vintage wine andthey're actually owned by
Trinchero, who is a large familyowned.

(01:30):
They do Ménage à Trois, joguia, seaglass, charles and Charles.
They do a whole bunch of wines.
They have a large portfolio andthey're a family owned winery.
So another weird thing aboutAldi is typically Aldi owns the
brand name.

(01:50):
Then they hire someone to makethat brand name for them.
So if they ever have an issuewhere someone doesn't want to do
it anymore or wants to chargemore, they just get somebody
else to do it and the brand justkeeps on going, which is
different than Trader Joe's.
Trader Joe's want to send itcoming and going more often.

(02:12):
So what do we have here?
I'm going to take a sip.
It is a California.
California means it's from theCentral Coast, it's from the
North Coast, it could be fromLodi Larkspur Combined and it is

(02:33):
a actually a tasty SauvignonBlanc.
It does not taste like NewZealand I'm pouring myself a
little bit more.
It does not taste like LowerValley.
It does not taste like lowervalley.
It's kind of got more body.
It doesn't have a lot ofalcohol.
It's 12.5 in the alcohol, whichin today's wine world that's

(02:55):
low.
But I have like a little bit ofa Chardonnay feel to it.
But there's no oak.
It has a little more body andit's got a lot of fruit and a
lot of citrus.
It just kind of has a nicebalance of flavors.
It's not going to blow you away, but it tastes good.

(03:21):
I mean, for $8 and you have atasty wine.
I had it chilled for like threehours and it came out tasting
really nice.
What am I trying to say?
It used to be under $10 wines, especially white wines.
The acidity was either too muchor too little, and that hasn't

(03:43):
been the case for a while now.
This acidity is really nice.
This has balanced acidity.
Somebody did a nice job andmaybe picking it when it's 12.5
to cool the acidity down istheir key.
But whatever it did, it worked.
This is a tasty, affordable,value-priced wine that is very

(04:08):
drinkable.
I wouldn't necessarily pair itwith anything Maybe a fancy
salad, maybe that type of thing.
It's got a little bit too muchfruit, too much citrus, going on
to be like with whitefish andthat type of thing.
Just took another sip because,if I wanted to, it tastes good.

(04:29):
So there you go.
I mean this Bear BrothersCalifornia Sauvignon Blanc 2023
is an $8, $7.99 wine you canpick up at Aldi, put a chill on
it and it's a nice Tuesdayevening wine, it's a nice
Saturday night wine.
It's the kind of wine you canbuy two or three bottles and

(04:50):
share with friends when theycome over.
And it tastes nice, you don'thave to think about it, you
don't have to contemplate, you're able to enjoy it, and
it's a good wine at a good price.
So there you go.
That's about all I've got tosay.
I've got a Trader Joe's WallaWalla Syrah coming up in a few

(05:11):
days.
We'll hit that one and adios, keep it cheap.
I'll be talking to you in acouple of days.
Bye-bye.
