Ever wondered how to enjoy premium French bubbly without the eye-watering price tag? Welcome to a sparkling discovery that might just change your holiday wine shopping strategy.

The wine world is experiencing something unusual – a 10% drop in sales that's creating hidden opportunities for savvy shoppers. I recently stumbled upon the Emile Chasson Cremant de Bourgogne Brut, normally $18 in stores and up to $24 online, for just $9.99. This 100% Chardonnay sparkling wine from Burgundy's legendary vineyards delivers everything you'd want from a premium bubbly without the premium price.

What makes this find so special? Cremant follows the same traditional method as Champagne but comes from outside that famous region. The Emile Chasson winery traces its roots to the 1600s, with the current ownership dating back to 1868. This historical expertise translates directly into your glass – crisp acidity, balanced flavors, and that elegant effervescence that makes sparkling wine so irresistible. As I mentioned while sipping it, this is a wine that simply "says drink me" – approachable, delicious, and remarkably high-quality.

This discovery highlights a broader opportunity. With wine sales dropping, retailers are offering unprecedented discounts to move inventory. Now is the perfect time to scan your local wine shop advertisements for similar bargains before the holiday rush begins. These wines will easily keep until your year-end celebrations, allowing you to enjoy champagne-quality experiences while keeping it deliciously affordable. Have you found any exceptional wine bargains lately? I'd love to hear about your discoveries – and cheers to keeping it cheap without sacrificing quality!

Speaker 1 (00:02):
Hi, it's Domain Dave from CheapWineFightercom, where
we write up reviews on thewebsite and then we switch over
and we do a podcast, maybe alittle supplemental podcast, and
that's what we're doing now.
And the wine we reviewed is theEmile Chasson Cremant de

(00:23):
Bourgogne Brut.
It's a wine I found for $9.99.
It's an $18 wine at the store.
What's going on right now isthere's sales of wine, spirits,
beer are down like 10% and thereare little really good sales

(00:46):
here and there in wine shopsthat get people to come in the
door and anytime you can get areally fine bubbly from France
for $8 off and more.
On the web.
I've seen this thing go for $23, $24.
And it's a legitimately goodCremant.
I'm going to take a sip.

(01:07):
We'll talk about what a Cremantis.
Well, first of all, this is asparkling wine that's 100%
Chardonnay from Burgundy.
A Cremant is a sparkling winefrom France, made in the
traditional Champagne style thatisn't from vineyards and made

(01:33):
in Champagne.
Champagne is trademarked andall that.
If it's not grown and made inChampagne, it can't be called
Champagne, except for a few kindof weird exceptions.
But Cremant is sparkling winefrom everywhere else, I mean,
and it's the traditional style.
There's also one in the Charmatmethod, which is how Prosecco

(01:58):
is made, and that's a differentname.
But this is the Champagne style.
One of the differences is theminimums.
In Champagne, the secondfermentation has to be at least
18 months.
But this is a champagne style, but one of the differences is
the minimums in the champagne, the second fermentation has to
be at least 18 months.
In Cremant it has to be aminimum of nine months, but
there's no reason why a producercan't go over that.
And this Emile Chasson Cremant,I think, did they kind of?

(02:23):
They're kind of putting this up?
The website was entirely inFrench.
I had the internet translatedfor me, but it didn't have too
much about it.
It didn't even have this wineand I had to search out some
information about it and no onesaid what their details are, and
in France they don't really dothat.

(02:43):
You've got to know that this isa winery that's been around
since the 1600s and the currentowner's been there from 1868, I
think.
So they you're supposed to know.
If you're from France, you knowwhat they make.
This is your local guy.
They don't have to spell it outto you.
I'm taking another sip.
This is a good bubbly.

(03:14):
The vineyards in Burgundy, whichis the home of Chardonnay and
Pinot Noir and makes some of thebest Chardonnays and Pinot Noir
in the world.
I mean, it's a great place forwine, has elite vineyards Now

(03:42):
Champagne has very famousvineyards too, and there's a
layer of chalk under the soilthat brings, brings up certain
characteristics, but it's hardto complain about the vineyards
and burgundy.
So you're not really losinganything.
And plus you're getting awinemaker who's been around
since 1868 well, he hasn't, butthe winery's been around.
You're getting a quality winefor less money.
I get 18 bucks at the originalprice, you know, and that's not

(04:04):
a bad price during the holiday, especially when you're paying 40
for entry-level champagnes.
And this thing has all you want.
This is quality Chardonnay andit tastes great.
It's crisp, it's got goodacidity, the flavors are subtle

(04:27):
but balanced and actually verytasty.
This is a wine that you want totake another sip.
This is a.
This is one of those bubbliesthat just says drink me, and
it's kind of fun to drink too, which you know.
Often, when you're spending somuch money for champagne, you
don't call them fun, it's fun.
It's supposed to be a littlebit, you know, a higher purpose.

(04:50):
Actually, I've got it for $10.
This is super fun, but whenyou're getting a good quality
bubbly and it's a good price ontop of that, I think that's big
fun.
So this is a time you might wantto start just checking out the
sales ads for your local wineshops.

(05:12):
You're going to find one.
I already found my next one, a30 wine they were selling for
8.99.
That's going to be in a coupleof days.
At the same time, I searchedaround.
I found this 18 wine for 9.99.
They're out there all of asudden just because the sales
are down.
There's grapes on the marketthat never available for people

(05:34):
to make wine out of, and they'reavailable now.
This is good.
I should probably shut up andstart drinking the wine, which
maybe you should go out and buysome too, and maybe we can drink
some together.
So, adios, keep it cheap.
This is just a good time tostart looking for what you want
for the holidays November,december.
If you buy them now, you find abargain.

(05:54):
Now you can put them away forthere.
These things will last plentylong to get you to the holidays.
And, like I said, this is theEmile Chasson.
Chasson is, I think that's howit's pronounced C-H-E-Y-S-S-O-N.
Fremont de Bourgogne Brut, anice dry bubbly of Chardonnay.
So there you go.

(06:16):
This is Domain Dave, keep itcheap.
I'll be talking to everybodyabout my big bargain in a couple
of days.
So adios, bye-bye.
