Hey welcome.

This is the first of our uhHalloween wines.
A little early, but eh.
Not too early enough to startplanning.
This is for Halloween parties,and we have a uh what do we have
here?
Wine I found a target for$11.99.
It is the 19 Crimes, the MummyHard Shard.

(00:28):
19 Crimes is a label out of abrand out of Australia.
It is a huge hit.
It's one of the biggest um winebrands in the world.
Uh they recently, you know, in2022, I think it was, they sold
5 million cases, which is 60million bottles of wine.

(00:51):
This is a non-vintage wine, andI imagine it's non-vintage
because binding 60 million uhbottles of grapes uh is gonna be
hard for any year.
So, what is a hard shard?
Well, I'm not sure, but it hasan alcohol to content of um 16%.

(01:14):
Now the thing I remember aboutAustralia is that when they put
the the number on the label, itoften the actual numbers come
later, and it can be within oneand a half percent.
So this could be 17.5%.
I doubt if it is, because it's aChardonnay.

(01:35):
Back in the days of ShirazMaustralia, 15% was big, 15.5,
but a 16% Chardonnay?
It's kind of kind of wild.

Oh here's the thing (01:46):
it's got a picture of the mummy in yellow
and green and black.
It's a pretty cool picture.
It glows in the dark, and it hasa thing for your phone if you
follow the link on the backlabel and take it and put your

camera on the bottle.
Your label comes alive with amonster talking about stuff.
So for a party trick, this thingis pretty good.
It's got a great label, and thisis just a this is a wine that
doesn't last.
I think they have um I thinkthey have Frankenstein out

there, and I think FrankensteinMrs.
Frankenstein.
And the mummy is sometimes hardto find.
So how is it?
It it is well, it it's not bad,but it's a it's a decent
Chardonnay.
The alcohol does kick in though.
You know what's there, I'm gonnahave a sip.
It's hard to it's hard to hide16% in a red wine.

It's really hard on a whitewine.
It's in there better than Ifigure would be.
And if you're and this isstrictly a party wine, I would
imagine every your guests wouldnot notice after the first half

of the first glass, or at leastby the second glass.
You know, if you're just sippingwithout anything, without any
food or anything, it might um itmight be noticeable, but like I
said, it's it's more integratedinto the wine than it possibly
should be.
And in the Chardonnay, it'sfairly good.
Now, 19 Crimes also has aregular Australian uh

(03:36):
Chardonnay, and they also haveMartha Stewart's um Chardonnay,
and that one's from California.
So this is a third Chardonnay,the hard shard.
I mean, if you're still insipping, I'd grab one of the
other ones for 19 Crimes becauseyou can catch them.
I mean, you can catch thempretty much anywhere.
You can catch them in uh wineshops, supermarkets, anywhere.
So that's kind of um the coolthing about this.

(03:59):
The bottle is you know, 12bucks.
I got it for the bottle, andI've seen it, I've seen it on
sale for less.
I just didn't find that sale.
The bottle is almost worth theprice, especially as a party
wine.
You know, if you know, as aspecial occasion wine, Frank uh

(04:19):
the mummy on the label, and itis a kind of a cool picture of
the mummy.
He does not look happy, and he'syellow and green, so and it kind
of looks like a young BorisKarloff on top of it, who was
like the original mummy.
So there you go.
So it's um it's more bottle thanwhat's in the bottle, but when

(04:40):
the bottle isn't bad, it'sperfectly good party wine.
It is a, like I said, aperfectly good party wine.
It tastes okay, it's got alittle bit too much alcohol, but
if you're having a party, you'renot really gonna notice it.
And I'm not overly noticing itnow, just sipping it while I'm
thinking about it, while I'mactually giving it attention.

Okay, sip.
Is it the most uh deliciousChardonnay in the world?
No, you probably wouldn't buythis if you're into Chardonnay.
I mean, just just to buy it.
But your regular bottle ofChardonnay doesn't have a

monster on the label.
So, you know what can you doabout that?
So, there you go for Halloween,and that's what this is for.
It's a it's a limited edition.
Get it early if you want, uh ifyou want to pick one, though.
The uh Bride of Frankenstein,the Frankenstein bottles are for
two, but I think they're redwines, if I'm not mistaken.
So, um there you go, the 19crimes, the mummy hard shard.

Got a kick to it, if you don'tmind a little alcohol.
You're gonna have a party.
Uh, you might as well have alittle alcohol.
And uh I think I've got uhDearly Beloved IV Red coming up,
which is the day of the day,Trader Joe's wine.
We'll we'll hit that one in acouple of days.
I'm not sure we're gonna go.
This isn't a big year for havingdifferent new releases of wines.

It's kind of off.
You know, they're just not umthey're not taking chances.
But uh, there you go.
Uh 19 crimes, the mummy hardshard.
Good a good party wine with abottle that's worth the price.
