• Made from Pinot Nero (Pinot Noir) but produced using the Charmat method like Prosecco
• Features delicate flavors of cherry candy, raspberry, plum, brioche and subtle minerality
• Characterized by very tiny bubbles, often considered a sign of quality in sparkling wine
• Refreshing acidity that makes you reach for the next sip before you realize it
• Best enjoyed as a standalone summer sipper rather than paired with food
• Available for $8.99, though not commonly found on end caps or prominent displays

Speaker 1 (00:01):
Hey, it's Domain Dave , CheapWineFindercom, welcome.
We got another wine reviewtoday.
We wrote it up on theCheapWineFindercom website, so
if you want to read it, it'sover there.
This is a wine I found for$8.99, though it was $8 off.
Why, I don't know.

(00:22):
Maybe it was end of the bintype of thing, but it's the Le
Monde Sparkling Pinot Nero Rosé.
It's a brute wine, meaning it'snot sweet.
Le Monde means the world.
Like I said, it's an estatewine.
It's from Frulli, which is inthe northeast section of Italy.

(00:47):
You go any further east andyou're in Slovenia.
You go north, you're in Austria.
The same general area is mostlya white wine region.
This is kind of in the areawhere all the Pinot Grigio is
from, in the area where all thePinot Grigio is from.
So a bubbly Pinot Noir or PinotNero is a little bit out of the

(01:08):
usual, but not too much.
I'm going to take a sip.
Pinot Noir in France is one ofthe two main grapes of champagne
.
This is not made like achampagne.
This bubbly is made in theCharmette method, which is how

(01:31):
they make Prosecco.
You ferment the wine the firsttime and then you transfer the
wine to a large pressurized vat.
It's got a hood on it, it'lllock down.
Add the measured amount ofyeast, measured amount of sugar,
lock the hood down, turn thepressure up and after in this

(01:57):
case, 20 days, you get thebubbles, will incorporate into
the wine.
The fermentation process secondtime releases CO2.
The CO2's got nowhere to go butincorporate into the wine.
The fermentation process asecond time releases CO2.
The CO2 has got nowhere to gobut back into the wine.
And there's the bubbles.
And after 20 days it holds, they turn the pressure off, or
at least maybe just a littlelightly, for another 60 days

(02:19):
just to get the wine to settleand you bottle it.
So this is a bubbly made withchampagne style grapes but made
in Prosecco style.
So how does it taste?
It's light and it's delicate.
It's got that kind of aciditythat makes you want to reach for

(02:45):
the next sip before you reallythink about it.
I mean, you're taking that sipand you haven't actually said I
need another sip.
I'm going to pour a little morein my glass because I am
sipping it a little bit morethan I should.
Or maybe not that I should, butthe acidity's got a hold on me.
Or maybe not that I should, butthis sooty's got a hold on me.

(03:07):
It's got cherry maybe morerather than fresh cherry, maybe
cherry hard candy.
It's got a little brioche.
It's got a little bit ofraspberry and those type of
things, plums, but all light anddelicate flavored.
It's got maybe a little bit ofminerality to it.

(03:29):
This isn't maybe I don't know ifthis is a wine that you would
necessarily pair with something.
A lot of times you can pair abubbly with, I mean, an
interesting salad or cold shrimpor you know, white, a white
fish of some sort white pasta.
I don't know if I'd do it withthis one, but I mean, just

(03:50):
because the flavor is sodelicate, it might not stand up
to whatever you're having.
I mean, I imagine there arethings you can have that it will
stand up to.
But this is a sipper.
It's got very, very tinybubbles.
I read somewhere that you cantell about the quality of a

(04:10):
bubbly I use bubbles by the sizeof the bubbles.
The tinier they are, the betterintegrated there is and the
better the wine is produced.
And this has teeny, tinybubbles, though even like the
worst bubble he has tiny bubbles.
I'll take another sip.
So it's Le Mans Sparkling PinotNero Rosé.

(04:36):
You're going to have to look inyour Italian wine section.
This is not one of the onesyou're going to see on the end
caps, and they might not have iteverywhere, though I think they
have enough of this out thereand it's a really interesting
specialty.
You can find it at $8.99.
Like I did, it's an interestingsparkling wine.

(04:58):
I mean, it's just a summersipper, I mean it's.
I don't normally have champagnewith meals, but you know, so
though this one doesn't lenditself to that, it's perfectly
fine, but the more I sip it andthe more the city makes me want
to sip it, the better I sip it,and the more the city makes me
want to sip it, the better Ilike it.

(05:18):
Delicate, refreshing man, that's what a bubbly is supposed
to do, isn't it?
So?
The Le Monde Sparkling PinotNero Rosé, and it's kind of cool
.
So there you go.
This is Domain DaveCheapWineFindercom.
Like us, re-lock your podcast.
I've got an actual CaliforniaPinot Noir coming up in a couple

(05:44):
of days.
So, adios, keep it cheap, andI'll be talking to you.
Goodbye.
