First of all we want to go and step back and talk to you a little bit about how Newbreed has been growing.
Yes sir.
And I know that it's a confirmed home for you guys.
I know you've been doing a lot of them at the landmarks.
Yes we have.
So you want to take us step by step or we already got fans looking at us saying hey Danny from Jose Martinez.

(02:35):
Hey.
Take us, just give us a history of how things are going from the last time we talked man.
I mean the last time we talked was August of 2021 so almost going on four years.
And we've grown bro.
I've taken the brand and the school and everything from where we were out of McAllen and now we've transitioned over to the landmark on Tower which is in Alamo.

(02:57):
And we were doing shows for free since then.
And we took the shows from Alamo to Westlake, it's McAllen, Mission, Elsa, Hollingen.
We did shows everywhere.
In 2023, 2024 we did shows like everywhere.
And yes so now for being once a month or twice a month now we've been doing shows every Sunday mostly but every Sunday at the landmark on Tower Road.

(03:22):
They're in Alamo.
And yeah man I love it. It's been a dream. It's been a blessing and my directors love it. The fans love it.
So yeah just to do it weekly.
It's a blessing and then I want to take it for granted.
Yeah I've been noticing a lot of Jose Martinez, Danny is a chef.
Not a chief, a chef. Always cooking.

(03:46):
That's true.
Everybody can read that.
You know from the last time, the first time we brought you into the podcast, when you first started off the business, you had your directors come in, we had a couple of them come in.
Unfortunately at that time we weren't doing a count and work yet. It was all audio which you can catch that episode.
I think it was like one of our third or fifth episodes that we did in the new studio when we were out there.

And they had some great stories man. Time has passed and it's just grown. It's blown up considerably in the four years.
Yeah especially here in the RGV event. The different areas that you've located these shows, people are just showing up slowly here and there and it's constantly growing.

(04:37):
I know the promotion on it, you do a lot of promotions for it.
I want to know who takes care of the interviews on that when you all post up stuff on there.
I see where they go on there and they call out the other opponent.
I like those man. Those are fun to watch.

(04:59):
Is that on their own or is somebody else?
That's on their own. Anytime I get an email from one of the wrestlers and it says video and before.
They're going to call someone out.
And sure enough whoever is doing their camera work, whoever is doing that, that's all on them.
I've gotten really weird ones where Armando Cacahuate was tied up to a pole.

He had a sack over his head. I've seen one of the people bleeding.
I've seen some like a Ness and a good buddy.
That was the wrong clear.
I've gotten some funny ones too. The promos and everything, how are they sending to me?
I just get the email and I'm like oh boy what is it going to be now?

(05:51):
It's hard being a promoter seeing that and thankfully I have a new GM, his name is Charlie Miller.
He takes care of most of the promos now, thank God.
It's been crazy. It's been growing so I'm all for it.
Speaking of it, Cacahuate, we said his name three times.
He already popped up. He said here, Mike, please call Cacahuate.

Cacahuate, you know what I call it? I'm going to block the sound.

We're just asking because you guys are so creative.

I'm glad that the promotion is going great.
It's not a hard work. Your stuff, all of this, I'm learning this stuff.
And this is hard work.
Promoting a show and building a roster while trying to learn the production stuff, it's so much hard work.

But it's got to be done to grow. It's got to be done.
But it's working because the crowds are showing up.
They're showing up. The venue fills up pretty quickly, doesn't it?
Oh yeah.
Well, we do on a weekend, other people may do once or twice a month.
But we do this every week. A slow day for us. You can see empty chairs.

(07:24):
That's a slow day for us. But every week it's just, oh, that's the usual. That's the usual.
Yeah, that's the usual.
And I've seen that. Like I said, not only that, is it true that I've been hearing through the grapevine
that you actually have announcers calling the match now, play by play?
Yes, I've had some commentators before. We're trying some things out.

(07:45):
We're testing some things and how to do the production stuff.
How to get the microphones working, everything.
So it's growing. Sometimes it gets bad feedback. Sometimes nothing's working.
But yes, I have a pair of commentators that I do.
That's awesome.
All of the drilling to that one, one of the special guests.

(08:07):
Just show up. I'll pay you.
I'll be awesome. I don't need to get paid. I just want to go out there for some fun.
Make it easier for me to show up.
But yeah, man, I've been noticing that a lot, and a lot of these key matches,
I know down the line, the last week of the month, we have the kill joys coming in.
Also, it's another one that we have coming at the very end of the month.

(08:29):
Schedule to appear.
Yeah, schedule to appear. Both of them in person here with us.
Those look scary, dudes.
They look scary.
Then we had to put flowers just to decorate it up to look really nice in here.
I was just going to give them food.
You can do that with not many of the pain, but I don't think with kill joys you can do that.

So with all these storylines that are coming out through New Breedmen,
I mean, can you more or less tell the amount of storylines there is going on right now?
Like right now, there's about four or five, but every, I mean, how much of the fourth one do you two want me to break?

Yeah, so there's four or five going on, but there's always, every week it could be something new.

There's changes.
The people can get hurt.
Blood can be shed on the canvas.
I'm not saying that there's fake blood, but I'm saying that people can spill blood that weren't meant to be spilled.

And then because of that, rivalries will happen.
And I've seen good guys become bad guys.
I've seen bad guys become good guys.
I've seen rats become managers.
No pun contending kakawate, but anyway.

Reverie is becoming the start.

You know, come with your shit, man, saying that we're the same height because we're not, buddy.

So you have all these different storylines that are coming around, man, that are happening in your area.

And one in particular that I want to talk about, because I know Amando had brought this up.
There was one incident where you were, I think, they flew off the top rope, or they had you off the top of the cage.
Oh, you're talking about a cage, man.
Yeah, yeah, so.
Give us detail by detail about that, dude, because that is some crazy shit, bro.

(10:46):
Yeah, so I have a special connection that I can call and get a steel cage there at the landmark for Nibbid Wrestling.
And this guy named, his name is Matt Riot.
When we first started training to be wrestlers back in 2011, 10, it was me, my brother, himself, and another guy.

(11:08):
And then obviously there was the rest of the class.
Right.
And shortly, every week, we were just trimming the fat, and it became just us four wrestlers.
And we called ourselves Novengenis, which is Latin or Greek, whatever, for Nubri.
So we've known each other going back 10, 13, 14, 15 years.
And he had toward his ACL, or he was going to just kiss in his knee, and he was out for three or four years.

(11:30):
And I told him, look, your retirement match that happened wasn't really what happened.
Come back, come back, I'll take care of you.
If your knee gets messed up, I got ambulance nearby, I got permanent or something like that.
I'll take care of you.
But let this be, the steel cage, let this be your final match.

(11:52):
If everything, if this is it, let this be it.
Right.
And it took me about two, three months of doing that.
Right.
And I was going to finally say, all right, Chance, I'll come back, and then, yeah, the show happened.
We both dug for it.
And he was on the top of the stool.
It was a table's match, by the way.
Yeah, table's match, yeah.
And he moved the light tube, so I busted open.

(12:14):
I was beating everywhere.
There's shots of that on my count.
And he's at the very end of the match, he's already had me knocked out.
And he could have just, he could have literally just pressed on me and I would have just broken the table.
I was that done.
I was gone.
So instead, the asshole, I'm sorry, the guy, my friend, goes to the top rope and says,

(12:35):
no, this is not high enough.
Climbs another six feet, gets on top of the steel cage and hits a shooting star press.
A shooting star press, and then you do a backflip going forward.
Now that's hard enough.
Yeah, yeah.
He did that off of a steel cage, which is another, again, like the top rope's at four or five feet,
and he goes another six feet.
There's about 11 feet off the ground.
Right.
And then he does that, and he shoots up first onto me, onto a table, brother.

(12:57):
Oh my God.
No, not only that, hitting the mark.
Yes, that is crazy, man.
It takes a lot of skill.
So Matt Wright, and sure enough, that wasn't his retirement match.
He had an ambulance match with my brother, it took, and put him in the ambulance, so he killed me,
and he killed my brother.
And then we had a special match called the Legacy Games.

(13:19):
There's a four on four, and the winning team, whoever got the pin of the other team,
gets to choose his partner, so it became a tag team match, right then and there.
Right.
And the winning team becomes a one-on-one match, and then that guy gets crowned our new champion,
which was the new breed wrestling Grand Warrior title.
The Grand Warrior title was something from wrestling revolution, which is the people that trained me and my new breed.

(13:42):
Right, right, right.
And the same people that I bought the promotion from, and I bought the ring from, and I did all that stuff,
and we rebranded everything, so that legacy, that title, we just basically brought it back and just said it was different.
That baby was put to rest, and it's there with veterans that did all that.
There's our new one, and we want to pay homage to them, and so it's the new breed wrestling Grand Warrior title.

(14:05):
And obviously Matt Wright has won it back in the day, I mean, so have I, but this guy, he won it,
and so now he's carrying that title for the new breed wrestling.
Oh, okay, all right, cool, cool.
And I got a lot of people coming on the feed.
I got one question here, he said, the beefy boy bros here, the triple B's on here watching big wrestling fans.
He goes, hell yeah, chanch on the Chew-A-New.

(14:27):
He has a question, does new breed ever going to have a storyline where they invade another promotion,
just like, and does a new breed have like a WrestleMania style in it?
I was about to ask that.
Thanks for nothing, triple B role.
He already knows who he is.

(14:49):
I know exactly who he is.

So the first one of us invading another promotion, I mean, it can happen.
There's a promotion, there's a show happening February 22nd with my good friends, Evil Masters,
they do the show in Bronzeville, and already, I like them,
but already there's like eight of my wrestlers from new breed wrestling there.

(15:11):
So it's sort of already happening, and if they see me, Evil Masters, if you can see this, if you can hear me.
Oh yeah, they're seeing you.
Do you hear what the fans want?
They want me to come and take over.
Oh shit, here we go.
They want me to take over.
Here we go.
If you want to stay friendly, you can stay friendly, but if you want to step on my toes and spit on my face, I spit back.

Okay, and the second question, the second part, what was he talking about?
Is there ever going to be a takeover?
Like a takeover, well this is actually like a new breed, like a WrestleMania style event.
Oh yeah, we have, I mean, yes and no, hardcore horror is our October, basically our vapor review for October,
which is our matches is no DQ, but like special stipulations, like table match, casket match, last man standing, etc.

(16:00):
So we have that one, that one's always popped off.
The still cage event that we did, the first one, we're going to do that annually, because that's not going to happen again.
But we also have one called the rise of the dragon, which is again, Pay No Mods to a wrestling revolution, which is rise of the Phoenix.
So there was a Phoenix emblem, ours is the dragon, so we have that one.
But yeah, I mean, anything is possible, we do do that every July.

(16:23):
So yeah, I mean.
Yeah, I have Roger Vellas saying, I gave the idea about the Lumberjack match, and then I got Jose Martínez with the eyes like,
Uh-oh.
Uh-oh, what's going on?
That's right, that's right, he said it, he said it, he said it, what are you going to do about it?
Yeah, so I mean, as far as, I mean, that's something that's real big right now that you will watch, everybody that watches wrestling,

(16:47):
either it's on televised or non televised, the takeovers, oh yeah, it's been a big thing since the early 90s with,
like I said, let me go mention like DX coming to WCW, you know, and so on and so forth, these are stuff that, the controversy upon that,
people like to see this.

(17:08):
Well, that's how Becky Lynch got big, bro, if she was a SmackDown or raw invading SmackDown, and I just didn't break her nose in that Gusha Blaine,
then that she would not be this big, and Becky's a good wrestler, but because of that, it catapulted her to like start them,
like now she's a great wrestler, now she's a superstar, like come on, so I mean, yeah, I mean, it's possible, even master is,

It's possible, yeah, I'm getting ideas also, I'm popping out there right now, I got Hasinto, I'm going to say that, I say the RGV deserves a royal type deal
where all promotions get together and have a huge event for all the wrestling fans out here, just my opinion, if that would be badass.

And then, uh, Jacob, uh, Hasinto goes like, uh-oh, here we go, uh, giving me the side-eye, let's see what happens,
my Kimber Steps, what, my Kimber Steps Foot at New Breed this Sunday.

Oh, Kimber, Kimber Lennon, she's a wrestler at the Destiny Roads Academy, actually, she's debuting for New Breed,

actually on Sunday, yeah, so yeah, she's going into my girl, Nicky Fuego, you had out here last week.
That's something, I mean, that's something that always came up to the idea, I always thought about with so many promotions that are down here,
you know, get your top stars from every promotion, have like a, we can't call it the Royal Rumble because it's already, it's already-
Or Kanwe.

No, you can't, you can't be used, you can use it, you can't use it, maybe the King of the Mountain?
Well, you already said top stars, but I mean, if we're going to go by promotions top stars, they can say like, oh, the best person at the RGV or whatever,

They, those best person at the RGV are coming out of New Breed Wrestling, and the New Breed Wrestling are already on your show,

how can it be like, the best thing you could do is bring people outside of the valley, which is what they do already, we all do,
but they do that to a bigger extent than I do, because I want to bring up my guys, the people that come into my school, so it's possible, boys and girls, hit me up,
let's talk, we can do it, where do we do it, we can do it at my venue, the Lambert-Kranthower, we can do it, you know, wherever they want to have it hosted, I don't know,

but I mean, they got to bring in some people to compete with my guys, that's all I'm saying.

I was going to say Joe Martinez, watch out buddy, Kimber is stepping Nikki's home, and what, taking the venue on the 956, it's getting crazy,

and then I got an idea from, this is the most stupidest idea ever, by the way, because we can usually take him out with your leg,

It's going rumble in the 956, there's people, I mean, there's people are getting excited, they really want something huge,

and for so many years, they want the event, they want the broken note, and it's true, man, because so many years of it being with a revolution,
being for so many years, they're branched out, and having all these great promotions that are down here, that are coming left and right,
even the ones from Mexico crossing over, this is something that it can get even bigger than expected,

but the thing is, to me, honestly, I'm going to be, and if you disagree with me, I'm sorry, I don't need to be blunt about it, but I feel the one that's driving the bus is dead.

Well, it's the weekly shows and having a wrestling school.
We have an official wrestling school, it's been going on for four or five years now, since 2020, and yeah, five years, and the wrestling shows have been weekly.
So it's like, the people that want to bring in good wrestlers, no matter the promotion, they know to look at New Bridge for wrestling,

they know to look at New Bridge for wrestling, see who are the local guys, and who's Danny Chance, building up.
And that's fine, I want people to, like, hey, check these people out, because as big as I got, and as far as I've reached out to,
I always train my people to be bigger than me and go further than me.
And if you're not a coach to do that, then you shouldn't be coaching.

And as far as your promotion is going,

That's a fan base. It's growing every day.
Do you get more fans coming in to watch more wrestling now in the weekends?

So the two years that we're doing the shows for free

and all the shows we did outside of the Landmark,
all of that basically just carried over to doing big shows at the Landmark.
So now that we're there weekly, the fans could say,
well, again, previously it was like,
why might I spend $40, $50 at a movie theater and being quiet in our popcorn?
We're going to spend less than that seeing free entertainment,
buying pizza and sodas, and then you're actually yelling,

(24:17):
getting memories from childhood to adulthood.
I've had kids that are 10, now 20 talking to me like,
hey, I saw you at St. Louis.
So those are the memories I'm bringing to the Landmark all over the valley, of course.
So now that it's just $10, $15 at the door,
you still get that, but now it's just being more interactive.

(24:39):
My guys, my girls are taught and learned to be interactive.
I don't want to see fans like, ooh, no, I want them booing and talking smack.
I want them to be invested.
I want them to hate you or to love you,
and that way they come back in and they say,
oh, look, I won't get this experience at the movie theaters.
I won't get this experience at the Oz Garden.

I won't get this experience at the park or at M8 event.
I'm going to get this experience here at the movie theater.
And I have a, by the way, it's Biffy Boy, Bro Joe that's asking these questions.
He's asking also, are you ever going to introduce a trio belt or a mix tag team?
The tag teams can be mixed.
I don't have fans who are having a trio, but our tag team one,

our new breed of wrestling double dragons, that's what they call it.
The NBW tag team is not original, it's different.

The thing with Asito is that within the first week of him taking Nikki to the school,
we talked about her future.
We talked about her goals.
And I mean, I'm not going to say the good news, but I heard,
I got direct source from Asito, the great news and where she's going to next at high school.

And I just know, is there's one step closer to her goals that we both wanted and prayed for her.
Right.
And we're extremely happy for her.
And that's just, it's like, of the goals that she had,
she's already done a couple of checks, Mark, this is the big, the big one.
That you could check off.
And from there, it's a bunch of little ones and then another big one.
And I'm very happy for her.

I know her dad's proud of her, but yes, like her whole family is super proud of her.
And I was there in two, but Jesus, like when I finally got the news and everything,
he broke it to me out.

Like I was not happy for her.

So the idea for this year with these guys, but actually after like a month or so into

have a plan to do some with them to record maybe like two or three to training, put into

like a little comedy sketch and then post online and maybe do like five of those and
say that scene in one day.
You go just, just a semester on.
Because I have, I have the equipment.
I have something that could do it.
So I'm like, well, why not?
It just takes some time for my family, but it's, I can do it.
But I want them to get more training done before we get to that point.

and stuff, like thank God for guys like him to where it's
like, hey, let's put this on the mat.

women can do it too, let's show up and show out.
Thank God for people like her, because now, I mean, since,
you know, since all this happening, it's so sustaining.
I don't, you know, it's been hard, me and my mother have to
put money in to make us stay alive.

And now we don't have to and we haven't had to in a while.
It's been so long since we've had to do anything.

But yeah, I mean, it's doing its own thing, its own machine,
it's working, you know, it's fine.
And there's days where, you know, time where we have a lot
of trainees and people, you know, back out and listen,
there's small, like a lot of trainees, but the shows and,
and the wrestlers and the people that do train there,
they keep it alive.
We don't, me, my brother and my wife don't do anything to it.
We'd say to, hey, here are the keys.

If I'm available, I'll go.
If not, you know, Pete Payne's there, Blackheart's there,
Morncaste there, Felix is there, my guy Matthew's there,
Paul, my guy, as in Paul, he's there.
Like someone's there to run it.
I'd like to be there anymore.
So now it's, now it's like my own baby has done its own thing.
That's doing its own thing.
So I'm not, I don't have to be there.
I can go a month without showing up.
And I know it's people are being taken care of.

And that's, that's what I wanted.
And as far as the promotion goes, I found a new home for it.
As I was in 2023, I found a new home for it.
And I've been there, you know, once a month,
twice a month and now every, for every Sunday.
So that's, that's, that's taking care of its own as well.

it sounds like you've got the right people to work with you
to keep it up and running.

It took, it took, it took a while to push and get there
and grind and obviously you have, you hit your lows,
but from, from the bottom, from the bottom,
there's only one way to go and that's up.
And once you reach, once you get there,
it's very hard and I like to go back.
So I mean, I've, thank God, I've been, you know,
on a slow slope and, but we're going up.
Not now, we're going up.
