The CDC prevalence rates for Autism are now 1 in 68 children, up from 1 in 88 in 2012. Despite such rising numbers, there is ever increasing hope for Autism treatment. Autism may be missed by child professionals who are untrained in specialized diagnostic procedures. Paradoxically, casual observers may informally “diagnose” Autism by mistaking one symptom for the larger condition. Accurate early detection is the key to changing the developmental trajectory of young children on the Autism Spectrum. In this episode, Dr. Terrence Matteo and I will discuss Autism detection and intervention in the early years of life. We will discuss early signs of Autism in very young children and diagnostic methods used by qualified Psychology practitioners. We’ll talk about where parents can turn when they suspect Autism and some early intervention approaches a parent can use at home.

CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist

CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist

It’s 1996 in rural North Carolina, and an oddball crew makes history when they pull off America’s third largest cash heist. But it’s all downhill from there. Join host Johnny Knoxville as he unspools a wild and woolly tale about a group of regular ‘ol folks who risked it all for a chance at a better life. CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist answers the question: what would you do with 17.3 million dollars? The answer includes diamond rings, mansions, velvet Elvis paintings, plus a run for the border, murder-for-hire-plots, and FBI busts.
