Speaker 1 (00:00):
Life is waiting for
you each day and you have to
prepare for each challenge alongthe way towards success.
It's not simple, but it can bedone.
Welcome to my Common SenseMotivation Episodes.
I'm Chris Fantastic Powell.
Excuses chase opportunity away.
Excuses are comfortable.
They're easy to pick up andcarry because they take the
(00:23):
weight of responsibility.
They're easy to pick up andcarry because they take the
weight of responsibility.
You know how it sounds.
I'll start tomorrow.
I don't have the money rightnow.
No one ever showed me how I'mtoo tired.
I'll wait until I feel ready.
We dress excuses up like they'relogical, like they're valid
reasons, but strip them down andthey're nothing but fear in
(00:43):
disguise Fear of failure, fearof failure, fear of rejection,
fear of hard work, fear ofstepping into the unknown.
And while we sit thereentertaining those excuses,
opportunity is moving.
It's not standing still, it'snot waiting for you to get ready
, it's not pausing until yourlife feels convenient.
Opportunity is alive, movingpast your street, knocking on
(01:07):
someone else's door, someonewho's not making excuses but
taking action.
But here's the truth.
Excuses don't just delay yourprogress, they actively chase
opportunity away.
Every time you explain why youcan't, opportunity hears it as
don't bother with me it goeslooking for someone hungry,
(01:29):
someone willing and someone boldenough to try.
That's the tension most peoplelive in holding on to excuses
while wondering why life neverchanges.
They want opportunity, but theyguard their excuses like
treasures.
They want success, but theyfeed the very habit that drives
success away.
But here's the good news youcan break that cycle the moment
(01:52):
you decide to.
Transformation begins not whenyou talk about what's wrong, but
when you take one small actionin the right direction.
Opportunity doesn't requireperfection.
It requires motion.
It requires you to show up.
Think about it.
Some of the greatestbreakthroughs in life didn't
come from the most talentedperson, the smartest or the most
(02:15):
prepared.
They came to the one whorefused to hide behind excuses.
The one who said I don't knowit all, but I'm willing to start
said I don't know it all, butI'm willing to start.
I don't have everything, butI'll use what I do have.
Excuses will always wait for you.
They've always been here if youwant them, but so will
opportunity.
The difference is opportunitywon't wait forever.
(02:39):
It's like a train pulling intothe station you either get on it
or you watch it pull away.
So let me ask you how manytrains have you already let pass
by?
How many times have you watchedothers take the seat that could
have been yours?
How many moments have you givenaway because you held your
excuse tighter than your dream?
(03:01):
Here's the resolution Stopletting excuses run your dream.
Here's the resolution Stopletting excuses run your life.
Stop letting them chaseopportunity away.
Stand up, take a step, even ifit's shaky, even if it's small,
because action attractsopportunity like nothing else.
And at the end of the day, you're left with the choice Do
(03:23):
you want the comfort of excusesor the reward of an opportunity?
You can't have both.
Choose opportunity every singletime.
Make it happen.
