Speaker 1 (00:00):
Get back in the
driver's seat.
Becoming the best version ofyou takes more than just dreams.
It takes decisions.
I want you to check yourposition in life.
Are you in the driver's seat orare you just riding shotgun in
your own journey?
Because here's the truth youdon't get to your destination
sitting in the passenger seat.
(00:21):
Not in life, not in success andnot in anything worth chasing.
If you've been riding alongletting life, people, opinions,
fear or past mistakes take thewheel, then today's the day you
need to grab it back.
I've done many podcasts talkingabout building a better you and
I'm going to keep doing thembecause I believe that, no
(00:44):
matter where you are right now,you can rewrite your story.
But I also know there's a lotof noise out there.
Some of it's nonsense, some ofit's stuff we convince ourselves
is real, but most of that noiseis designed to pull you away
from your goals into somebodyelse's lane.
Life will always try todistract you, derail you or
(01:09):
discourage you.
It will put roadblocks in frontof you and every single one of
us we all go through challengesevery single day.
But here's a secret I need youto remember Don't believe you
can't do something great withyour life.
And let me say it again Don'tbelieve you can't do something
great with your life.
And let me say it again Don'tbelieve you can't do something
(01:34):
great with your life, becauseyou can.
You just have to choose it overand over again.
The most dangerous lie we tellourselves is that we've got time
, but the truth is we don't knowhow many days we really have.
What is real is what you dowith the days you've got.
So ask yourself what did I dotoday that moved me closer to my
goals?
Did I make decisions, takeaction, speak life into myself,
(01:57):
or did I just let the day driveme?
Every moment is a chance to getback in control.
So today I challenge you Stopwaiting, stop doubting and start
driving your life in thedirection, toward your goals,
because you've got places to go,people to inspire and a life to
live, and it's too importantjust to leave it up to chance.
(02:20):
This is your life.
Drive it.
Here's a story the two shoes atthe starting line.
There was once a young mannamed Mike who rushingly showed
up at the starting line of alocal race.
He was barely prepared and hewas wearing two different shoes.
One was a running shoe dirtyand worn out but built for the
(02:42):
road.
The other, a dress shoe stiffed, polished and absolutely wrong
for running.
The crowd and people began towhisper is this a joke?
Who shows up like that?
But Mike didn't flinch.
What nobody knew was that therunning shoe represented his
past, everything he had trainedfor, every mile he had run,
(03:05):
every mistake and every lesson.
And the dress shoe.
It was a symbol of his present.
When he arrived, realized heonly had the two shoes he had
just interviewed for a secondjob because he was trying to
support his mom, pay for schooland still chase his dream of
being a professional athlete.
He had no time to change, nomoney to buy new shoes, but he
(03:28):
showed up anyway.
When the gun fired, mike tookoff.
He wasn't the fastest, hewasn't the strongest, but he ran
with purpose.
He ran like the road owed himsomething.
And halfway through somethingamazing happened.
People stopped laughing, theystarted cheering Because they
saw what many of us miss thedetermination of his heart.
(03:52):
Mike didn't win the race thatday, but he finished with
everything he had.
Later, a coach who had beenwatching from the sidelines
pulled him aside.
He said son, I don't care aboutthe shoes, I care about the
fact that you ran with one thingmost people never bring to the
starting line no excuses.
The coach asked him what madeyou come out and run today?
(04:14):
Mike said my dream didn't startthe day.
I had the right gear.
I started the day.
I stopped waiting for theperfect moment and ran with what
I had.
The coach offered him training.
That training became ascholarship.
That scholarship became afuture.
All because Mike didn't letwhat he didn't have stop him
(04:35):
from using what he did have.
Stop waiting for your life to beperfectly aligned.
Stop waiting until you have theright shoes, the right timing
and everyone's approval, becausethe people who win in life
aren't always the ones who startstrong, but the ones who keep
moving forward even when theodds look wrong.
What are you waiting for?
(04:55):
What excuse is sitting besideyou in the passenger seat?
Is Mr Excuse driving or are you?
You don't need the best shoesto run the race.
You just need the heart tostart Run with what you have and
don't look back and drive yourlife in the direction you want.
Make it happen.
