Speaker 1 (00:00):
Life is waiting for
you each day and you have to
prepare for each challenge alongthe way towards success.
It's not simple, but it can bedone.
Welcome to my Common SenseMotivation episodes.

Wisdom is the map you didn'tknow you needed.
Life is a journey and not allsunshine and clear roads.
(00:22):
Life throws us storms, detours, flat tires and wrong turns.
And, the crazy part, most of usare handed the keys to our
lives and told to drive withouta map.
Sure, we get the bits andpieces from our parents,
teachers, friends and mentors, but the real road that's on us.
We step out, starting to buildour lives based on what we know,
(00:45):
both what was handed to us andwhat we picked up along the way.
Some paths we choose, others wejust end up without even
realizing, and some we're warnedabout, but we take it anyway.
But here's the truth.
What separates those who getlost in life from those who get
found, those who are broken fromthose who build a life and
those who get stuck from thosewho get lost in life from those
who get found, those who arebroken from those who build a
(01:06):
life and those who get stuckfrom those who find success, is
wisdom.
Wisdom is like the street signyou almost missed.
It's the voice that says thisis not the road to your
greatness.
It's the stranger, the mentor, the coach, the family member,
the book, that quiet thoughtthat wakes you up and turns you
(01:26):
around.
Here's a story the Young man andthe Crossroads.
There was once a young mannamed Jim, full of fire, full of
dreams, just like many.
No real direction.
He left home with a backpackfull of confidence and a head
full of ambition, but no clearmap, just energy.
At first it was thrilling norules, no limits, just movement.
(01:49):
But soon the road got confusing.
He ran into setbacks, chose thewrong people, wrong career,
created bad habits and tookdetours that cost him time,
money and his peace.
One day, tired and frustrated,he sat alone at the crossroads
of his life no signs, no GPS,just silence.
(02:10):
Out of nowhere, an old man satbeside him and said young man,
you look lost.
Well, I've been where you are.
I took the road on the left oncelooked exciting.
Then I took the road on theright.
Wrong people, they got menowhere.
I decided to walk the middleone.
It was slow, steady, notexciting, but consistent, and it
(02:34):
got me exactly where I wantedto go, but I only learned that
after wasting many years on thewrong roads, you don't have to
make the same mistake.
Take the middle road.
Jim paused.
Something about the old man'svoice wasn't just advice.
It was experience.
It was wisdom.
Jim decided to take the middlepath.
(02:55):
It didn't move fast, it didn'thave flashy signs, but every
step forward made him stronger, clearer and more focused.
Years later, people asked Jimhow he made it.
He said I stopped chasing theexcitement and started listening
to wisdom.
Don't ignore wisdom.
Don't overlook the people, thesigns and the messages that show
(03:17):
up to help you.
The right words at the righttime can save you from a
lifetime of regret.
Listen, learn and begin to gainwisdom, and never travel
without it.
Make it happen.
