Speaker 1 (00:00):
Life is waiting for you each day and you have to
prepare for each challenge alongthe way towards success.
It's not simple, but it can bedone.
Welcome to my Common SenseMotivation episodes.
I'm Chris Fantastic Powell.
Your real enemies dress likefriends.
I've got some best friends.
They've been with me for yearsand here's the truth.

(00:22):
They don't want me to win.
Every morning, when I open myeyes, they're already awake.
They ride with me into theshower.
They whisper to me while I'mgetting dressed.
They sit in the passenger seatas I drive to work.
They walk with me through everymeeting, every decision, every
quiet moment when I'm thinkingabout doing something big and

(00:42):
the wild part they never leave.
They eat lunch with me, theysit at the dinner table with me,
they lie in bed right next tome and anytime I dare to dream,
they show up with the samescript why, now, that's too hard
, let's do it later.
What if it doesn't work?
You've tried that before and itdidn't go anywhere.

(01:04):
Does this sound familiar?
Don't think I'm the only one.
You've got them too.
They've got names and you knowthem Procrastination, lazy,
doubt, fear, excuses and shouldhave.
They're friendly, comfortable.
They know just what to say tokeep you from becoming the

(01:24):
person you were born to be.
But let me tell you the secretI've learned Momentum is their
worst enemy.
When I start moving fast enough, when I stop asking for their
permission, I can sometimesoutrun them just long enough to
accomplish something, just longenough to catch a glimpse of the
future version of me they'retrying to bury.

(01:46):
But the moment I slow down, themoment I get tired or
second-guess myself, they catchup and just like that I'm
trapped again in a cycle ofalmost maybes and not yets.
But here's what I know now.
You can't wait for them to goaway.
They don't.
You can't reason with them.

(02:07):
They out-talk you every time.
But what you can do is actbefore they notice.
Push forward while they'resleeping.
Build momentum so strong thateven when they wake up, you're
already gone Too far ahead forthem to reach.
Your dreams were never supposedto live in the same space as
these false friends.
So next time they come around, smile and then run.

(02:31):
Run toward your greatness, runtoward your calling, run toward
the life you keep seeing in yourheart but haven't yet held in
your hands.
And don't stop moving, becausethe faster you go, the harder it
is for them to catch up and thecloser you'll get to becoming
the person you already know youwere meant to be.
They might walk with you, butthey can't run like you Make it

(02:55):
happen.
