(00:00):
Hey. Welcome to Oasis Singles.
My name is pastor Dave, and I'm so
excited you're here. By the way, this site
is not just about Christian dating service reviews
and so forth, but it's also about life
advice, all things Christian single.
We have articles. We have interactive ways that
you could get in touch with each other,
and we also have podcasts
(00:22):
that are all about the Christian life.
I hope you enjoy our site, and I
hope you enjoy the podcast you're about to
listen to right now. God bless.
Being a Christian single in today's world is
like playing a never ending round of dodgeball
(00:43):
with society,
culture, and sometimes even yourself throwing curve balls.
But lurking behind the scenes is Satan whispering
lies to sow doubt, fear, and discouragement.
Don't worry, though. We're about to unmask these
lies like unwrapping a stale granola bar you
didn't want anyway.
Let's break down the top five lies Satan
(01:05):
tells Christian singles and
laugh a little while we learn.
Lie number one,
you're not complete without a spouse.
Oh, this one's a classic.
Satan rolls this lie out like a tired
rom com plot. You know, the kind where
the lonely protagonist finally meets the one, and
(01:27):
suddenly their life transforms into rainbows and unicorns.
Here's the truth bomb.
You are already
complete in Christ.
Colossians two ten reminds us, and in Christ,
you have been brought to fullness.
That means you don't need a significant other
to complete you because Jesus did that on
the cross,
(01:47):
and he didn't need Tinder to do it.
Yes. Marriage is beautiful, but let's not forget
that the apostle Paul, arguably
the MVP of the New Testament, was single.
If being single was good enough for him,
you're doing just fine.
Plus, think of all the extra snacks you
don't have to share.
(02:10):
Lie number two,
everyone else is married, and you're the only
one left out.
Yes. The old
compare and despair trick.
Satan loves making you think your timeline is
broken
just because your college roommate is posting engagement
photos, your neighbor is pregnant with baby number
three, and even your dog seems to be
(02:32):
in a committed relationship
with the neighbor's poodle.
Spoiler alert,
god's timing is never wrong.
Ecclesiastes
three eleven says, he has made everything beautiful
in its time.
That includes your love story
or even your purpose filled singlehood.
And let's face it. Those engagement photo captions
(02:54):
on Instagram,
they're like reading the credits of a movie.
You don't know the behind the scenes struggles,
so stop comparing.
Instead,
enjoy where god has you right now. You
can binge watch Netflix guilt free, take spontaneous
road trips, and keep the thermostat
exactly where you want.
(03:15):
Married folks would kill for that freedom.
Lie number three,
god has
forgotten about you.
This one hits like a slow Internet connection
in the middle of a Zoom call.
Satan whispers
that god is too busy helping missionaries, healing
the sick, and keeping the universe spinning to
(03:36):
remember you.
It's a lie designed to make you feel
unseen and unloved.
But let's set the record straight.
God never forgets his children.
Isaiah forty nine sixteen says, I have engraved
you on the palms of my hands.
Think about that.
Your name is tattooed
on God's hands. Remember
(03:59):
that singleness isn't a waiting room where God
has put you on hold. It's an adventure
with him that's tailor made for this season
of your life. Besides,
if God numbers the hairs on your head,
Matthew ten thirty, don't you think he's got
your love life under control?
Lie number four,
you're too broken to be loved.
Cue the dramatic violins. Satan loves whispering this
(04:22):
lie, especially on tough days.
Maybe it's because of past mistakes, a messy
breakup, or insecurities you've carried for years. He
tries to convince you that no one could
ever love you, and honestly, he's lying through
his teeth.
The Bible is clear. Your worth isn't based
on your past, but on Christ's sacrifice.
Romans eight one reminds us there is no
(04:43):
condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
Think about Rahab, the woman who had a
past that could make headlines on TMZ.
God didn't just forgive her, he made her
a part of Jesus' lineage.
If that's not redemption, I don't know what
is. So stop believing Satan's lies.
You are lovable,
worthy, and redeemed even on your bad hair
(05:04):
days.
Lie number five,
you'll be single forever.
This one is Satan's favorite because it preys
on our biggest fear, the dreaded forever alone
syndrome.
He tries to make you believe that god
is withholding something from you like a stingy
waiter with the bread basket.
But here's the kicker. God's plans for you
are always good.
(05:25):
Jeremiah twenty nine eleven says,
for I know the plans I have for
you, declares the lord, plans for welfare and
not for evil to give you a future
and a hope.
Even if singleness lasts longer than you expected
or becomes permanent, it doesn't mean you're incomplete
or less valuable.
Jesus was single his entire life and spoiler
(05:47):
alert, he's the savior of the world.
Your value isn't tied to your relationship status,
but to the fact that you're made in
god's image.
Plus, singleness gives you a front row seat
to seeing god
write your story in ways you never imagined.
It's like watching a plot twist in your
favorite movie, only better because it's personal.
(06:07):
Final thoughts,
laugh,
love, and lean on Jesus.
Being a Christian single comes with its own
set of challenges, but it also comes with
incredible opportunities.
You have time to grow,
explore,
serve, and laugh at the absurdity of life
and Satan's weak attempts to mess with you.
(06:29):
So next time you hear one of these
lies creeping into your thoughts, call it out
for what it is, nonsense.
Then turn up your favorite worship playlist, grab
a cup of coffee, and remember that God's
plans for you are better than anything you
could imagine. And, hey, if Satan tries to
bother you again, just remind him he's already
lost.
Mic drop.
