Many conversations on the podcast are with the people on stage, band members, vocalists, and recording artists. But for these musicians to do their craft, there is an army of folks behind the scenes, producers, managers, engineers, and songwriters. Today I'm talking with one of those songwriters. John Chisum is a songwriter with a long list of credits, including Sandy Patti, First Call, Gaither Vocal Band, Ron Kenoly, The Cathedrals, and countless others. He is also the founder of Nashville Christian Songwriters, an organization dedicated to mentoring and empowering songwriters to hone their craft. In addition, John has been a worship pastor and record company executive and is the host of another great podcast, the Song Revolution.
