Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to Christ
Forged Locking Shields, the
Christian Fellowship Show, wherewe fight three battles.
We fight our first battle, oneto get a humble and grateful
heart aligned onto the Lord.
It's real easy to get entitledwhen you're not being grateful,
and it's real easy to startgriping and complaining.
(00:23):
So we fight to get a humbleheart, because it's not natural
as humans, we tend to not dosuch a hot job at that.
And with a humble and gratefulheart, the Lord will be patient
with you, all right.
So we fight to do that.
(00:45):
Here too, we deliberatelypursue relationship with our
Lord and savior, um, through thestudying of his Holy word and
through prayer.
Three, we spend time infellowship with iron sharpening
iron, you know, um by investingin one another, by praying for
(01:06):
one another, by sharing ourexperiences, by doing, you know,
what this accountability groupthat we do called the forging, a
90-day forging, which isactually a way of life, but it
starts with 90 days where yousubmit all aspects of your life,
your faith, your family, yourfitness, your financial or your
(01:28):
fundamentals which is, yourskill set and your finances to
the Lord.
All right.
So the third battle, again, isfellowship, and we celebrate our
victories, we pick each otherup and we fall and we learn from
our setbacks.
That's what we do here andagain.
This is the home of the 90 daycrucible challenge, or sorry,
(01:51):
forging challenge used to callthe crucible, but rebranding and
stuff.
So I hope you guys had a greatweek.
I don't expect to see myregulars on tonight because I'm
a day late.
I just want, before we pray inand do everything else, just to
(02:12):
give you a little heads up aboutwhere I've been.
So I had the honor of training.
It's what I do, that's whatpays the bills, that's what
keeps all the lights on is I hadthe honor of training another
Christian school, classicalChristian school in Pennsylvania
on how to do.
You know, active shooter, workplace violence, active
(02:33):
assailant, preparedness trainingand such a fulfilling thing to
do, watching the light bulbscome on from everyone in the
audience, people who had no hopenow having hope, um, but also
teaching them how to handleviolence throughout their entire
life.
You know, a good activeassailant training will cover
(02:55):
everything.
You know the whole spectrum ofviolence, because active shooter
is the nuclear war of violence,um, and everything up to it.
So again, super awesome groupof people that we trained with,
so thankful to do it.
My favorite clients areChristian schools, classical
(03:15):
Christian schools to be moreprecise.
They just I share so much incommon with them that it really
is amazing.
So let's go ahead and let's getour first battle won and we'll
go from there.
(03:36):
Dear Heavenly Father, lord, wethank you.
We thank you for another day, another day to get it right.
Lord, we thank you for all ofour blessings, known and unknown
, all of our protections, knownand unknown.
Lord, we thank you for yourcommon grace, your creation,
this universe, the sun, the moon, the stars, this earth,
(03:57):
everything from the mountains tothe oceans and everything in
between.
We thank you for the life, thefish in the sea and their great
variety, the animals on the landand the birds of the sky, plant
life.
How amazing and beautiful andwonderful is your design.
(04:23):
Lord, we thank you for thesunrise and the sunset.
We thank you for a cool breezeon a hot day and a warm fire on
a cold day.
We thank you for the sound ofbirds in the morning, children,
(04:45):
laughter.
Thank you for the smell offresh morning rain, good cooking
, thank you for the taste ofgood food and drink, and we
thank you for everyone who's inour life, all of our loved ones,
and we thank you for everyonewho's in our life of our loved
(05:08):
ones.
We think about theimpossibility of the trillions
of cells each of us has, thathad to work near perfect for us
to even be here today.
And when you take that andmultiply by the trillions of
cells that are in everyone, it'sjust amazing.
We're so blessed.
So, lord, we thank you for everyrelationship in our life.
(05:29):
We thank you for all thetreasured moments.
Help us to make more of them.
People who are no longer withus, lord.
We thank you for their memory, for all the moments that we had
with them, even if they were cuttoo short.
Lord, we come to you humbly.
(05:51):
We deserve nothing, but yougave us everything.
We also thank you for yourdivine grace choosing us to be
yours, choosing us before thefoundations of the earth,
writing us in the book of life, choosing us to be yours,
choosing us before thefoundations of the earth,
writing us in the book of life, choosing us to be your elect.
(06:12):
We thank you, lord, for wedon't deserve it.
You chose us while we were yourenemies.
Lord, bless this time that wespend together, this fellowship.
May the time that we spendtogether please you, glorify you
and only you, serve you andonly you, and may we proclaim
you with every breath of ourlungs, serve you with every beat
of our heart In Jesus' name.
(06:32):
We pray amen.
All right, there's one firstpaddle done, First paddle done.
So I just want to let you guysknow we are also on rumble right
now.
Uh, and just to let everyoneknow that, I'm just checking to
make sure that we're we'reworking over there and it
(06:55):
appears that we are so awesome.
We're also on X, we're onFacebook and we're on YouTube.
We've picked up some moresubscribers on YouTube and I
thank you for joining us overthere on YouTube as well as all
the other platforms.
Today we are going to be inProverbs 18.
(07:15):
Proverbs 18.
And as I've been workingthrough doing this forging right
, working through doing thisforging right, this 90-day
forging challenge and those ofyou who don't know what that is,
(07:37):
hey, my love, good to see you,Lauren.
A 90-day forging challenge isfor 90 days.
It's a way to go from dying toyourself and doing the old you
to in accidentally going throughchristianity, to deliberately
doing christianity in allaspects of your life, and you're
not going to get all the steps, everything right every day no
one does not every day, butyou're going to start getting
(08:02):
more of them right, more days.
So we submit ourselves to thefive pillars, which are faith we
put faith first so we pray andget our time in the Bible every
day.
Two, we deliberately pursuefamily members, like we pour
(08:25):
into them.
We set time aside and say, okay, today I haven't done something
with my son or my daughter ormy wife or mom or dad, whatever,
and you deliberately pursuethem and you pour the love of
Christ in them and you let themfeel like they're the most
important person in your life.
Then you rinse and repeat andyou keep doing it through
different people and then you doit through to work through your
(08:50):
immediate family, your friends, your coworkers, strangers,
appointments that God sets.
Three fitness, all of us,particularly me, since I just
went through a knee replacementand it has really hobbled me and
I'm fighting back from that andI really appreciate you guys
praying for me, you know.
(09:10):
But fitness we have to be goodvessels for the Holy spirit.
Your body can either be thebiggest blessing or the biggest
curse, depending on how youtreat it.
So me, I'll tell you what I'mdoing.
I'm trying to get 10,000 stepsin a day.
Cheerful coconut, good to seeyou.
Trying to get a workout in aday Doesn't always happen.
(09:32):
You know, we have a farm here,so when I do chores which Lauren
and I sometimes change out onchores that is pretty hardcore,
particularly in this frozenweather.
But so I try to get 10,000steps of workout in, plus the
stuff I do around the farm andall that other stuff.
(09:53):
The other thing is I'm tryingto clean up my diet to where I
am trying to do not I would callit more keto than I would call
it low-carb, slash keto, morethan I would call it carnivore
(10:16):
Basically meat with some veggies, some fruits, some nuts.
I need something crunchy orelse I lose my mind.
So that's what I'm doing andwe'll see how it goes.
But I am dedicating this yearto Christ, doing it for Christ,
(10:43):
going to honor him in allaspects of my life, and we'll
see how it goes.
And I, you guys, to do this, because don't do it I mean doing
it for you is fine, but youbarely like you right, and you
haven't been able to followthrough countless other times
because you did it for you.
So let's hey, bob, good to seeyou.
So let's do it for Christ.
Let's make this a sacrifice andan honoring of him.
(11:07):
You do that.
I think great things are goingto happen for you.
All right, the next isfundamentals, and fundamentals
is your skillset.
So what I'm doing is I'mconstantly if I'm in the car,
I'm listening to audio booksgrowing my skills set, whether
it's listening to prepper booksor learning a new skill or
(11:27):
trying to become better at myjob or better as a pastor or
better Christian understandingthe Bible.
There's so much stuff out there.
I'm either on Audible or apodcast or YouTube, constantly
trying to learn, and you shouldbe too trying to learn and you
should be too.
(11:47):
Your skill set, which isfundamentals, is what makes you
valuable.
It makes you valuable to yourfamily, your community, yourself
and others is your skill set.
So, adding to that, and last isfinances, and that's trying to
(12:13):
earn more than we spend, tryingnot to get caught up and get out
of debt because God knows we'rein it and avoid worldliness
materialism.
So Trevor Coconut said let'ssee if I can get my.
(12:33):
Where is my cursor?
There we go.
That's like modified paleo thatI used to love Whole foods God
made and we're good.
Yep, that's what we're doing.
Um, you know again, um, justtrying, like you know, doing
meats in the morning, meats inthe afternoon, meats in the
(12:56):
evening, but sometimes throwinga salad in there.
I don't really enjoy a lot ofsalads, but sometimes it breaks
it up.
Um, occasional fruit, you know, there's a book called
superfoods and you know, gettingthe berries and some of the
superfoods that are out thereand rotating them through is
great pistachios and nuts andall those other things I love as
well.
So that's basically what I'mdoing.
(13:17):
So you're cutting out yourbread, your carbs, your, your
deliberate carbs, which are yourbreads, your potatoes, your
rice, your starches, all thatstuff, all the good stuff that
everyone likes, right?
So that's the challenge.
And what we do is you go to ourFacebook group, to our Facebook
page, and you follow us.
Yeah, exactly, I know, wholefood is an actual food, not the
(13:44):
store.
God made it, we got it, yep, um, something that doesn't have
4,000 ingredients that you can'tpronounce, right?
Just whole food.
So, anyways, um, so, anyways,um, you go to christ forge
(14:11):
church and you go to thefacebook group, you go to the,
you're on the group and then yougo to groups and then you'll
see christ forge, um, you know, christ Forge Christian
Discipleship Training and youjoin that, you click on it, you
join it, and that's where we dothe accountability group.
(14:33):
And let me see, I'll pull up thelink and I'll drop it in there,
see if we can do that.
Oh geez Because I.
Oh geez because I, because Ijust dumped a bunch of my using
an ancient computer, um so, um,I come, my, uh, my camera was
(15:03):
acting a little jumpy, so Ithought maybe it might be, you
know, memory issues or somethinglike that.
And uh, and it was.
Let's see here.
Here we go.
All right, I'm going to checkmy notifications on another
device.
You're going to love this.
Freaking hackers have made lifemiserable trying to do anything.
(15:25):
Okay, so I'm waiting forapproval.
Check to your notification.
Your to your windows pc, oryour?
All right?
Well, I'm here and I'm tryingto log in.
Brother, come on, help me outhere.
(15:47):
Anyways, I'll find the link.
Lauren, if you could drop thelink from the group into the
chat, that would be great, andthen I can move on.
But it's so good to see Brandy, cheerful, coconut, troy, bob,
(16:08):
et cetera, et cetera, all here.
So welcome, welcome, welcome.
Let me see Just what.
Just want to paint in the butt.
Do a text code.
There we go.
(16:38):
All right, so trust this device.
That was just ridiculous, wow,okay.
Groups Share Copy link.
(17:02):
Okay, share copy link.
Okay, so I just put the linkout, um, in chat on restream and
that's that's basically thegroup.
So you join the group, um, theinstructions are on there, um,
the oath is on there, and thenyou know we post every day and
with the date, and you just putthe what you did on that date
(17:24):
there, okay, it's doesn't haveyou know.
So you're gonna see some peopleon day, like seven or eight
other people on day, one or twoor three, it doesn't matter,
we're all in the same place, umbut um, but it it.
(17:46):
You'll see that it is alive andthat people are doing it and
that we can learn from eachother, and that's the main point
of it Okay.
Um, getting in there, gettingthe accountability group, seeing
other people going through it,seeing what resources they're
using, what they're reading, youknow what workouts they're
doing, what relationshipsthey're repairing and being
there for them and seeing wherethey're struggling and where
(18:06):
they're not all right.
That's what this is all about.
So, again, awesome right Now.
It used to be and this might benew if you missed a day, you
had to start over.
(18:26):
I don't like that, because badthings happen all the time and
people are on the road all thetime and people are doing stuff.
So if you miss a day, you justhave to double that many days.
So let's say you miss one day,Well, then you're going to have
to do 92 days.
All right, that's instead of 90days.
Okay, If you miss two days, then you then you have to do 94
days to complete the challenge.
All right, that's how we do it.
(18:48):
All right, I think if you dothat, it's a lot easier.
And, um and again, the goal isto keep you in the group, not
discourage you from continuingon.
So that's how we'll do.
Now.
Let's go ahead and let's getinto the Bible here and when,
our second, second battle, I'mgoing to go ahead and put on my,
(19:09):
my readers.
All right, I have, just becauseI am reading a proverb every
day.
When I read my, my Bible, I doan old Testament, a new
Testament, um, a proverb andfinish on a Psalm.
And the Proverbs are justcrushing me because they are so
(19:32):
heavy with wisdom, so heavy withwisdom, and they're so hard to
follow.
And they shouldn't be.
But here is one like so here,18.1.
Whoever isolates himself seekshis own desire.
He breaks out against all soundjudgment.
Now that isolate can also meanmean divisiveness, right, that
(19:56):
word reclusive or divisive,right.
And again, that's the truth.
You know you are selfish,You're not doing what God
commanded you to do.
When you're isolating yourself,right.
And the devil wants you there.
Trust me, he wants you therealone.
And isolated.
(20:18):
Two, a fool takes no pleasure inunderstanding, but only in
expressing his opinion.
This is the person who doesn'tlike to listen to anyone else
and just wants to tell you whatthey think.
All the time.
You're telling them what youdid and they can't wait.
They're not even hearing whatyou did, they just want to tell
(20:39):
you what they did.
That type of one-way street.
When wickedness comes, contemptcomes also, and when dishonor
comes disgrace.
The words of a man's mouth aredeep waters.
A fountain of wisdom is abubbling brook.
(21:03):
It is not good to be partial tothe wicked or to deprive the
righteous of justice.
A fool's lips walk into a fightand his mouth invites a beating
.
A fool's mouth is his ruin andhis lips are a snare to his soul
(21:25):
.
How many times have we run ourmouths and have we said stuff
that have made our life absolutehell?
Then again, verse 8,.
The words of a whisperer arelike delicious morsels they go
down into the inner parts of thebody.
That's how much we love gossip.
(21:49):
Whoever is slack in his work isa brother to him.
Who destroys Basically, speaking out against laziness.
There, the name of the Lord isa strong tower.
The righteous man runs into itand is safe, Whereas a rich
man's wealth is his strong cityand like a high wall in his
(22:13):
imagination is his strong city, and like a high wall in his
imagination Before destruction.
A man's heart is haughty, buthumility comes before honor.
If one gives an answer beforehe hears, he is at folly and
shame.
(22:34):
A man's spirit will enduresickness, but a crushed spirit
who can bear An intelligentheart acquires knowledge and the
ear of the wise seeks knowledge.
A man's gift makes room for himand brings him before the great
.
The one who states his casefirst seems right until the
(22:59):
other comes and examines himBasically, making sure you get
both sides of the story there.
The lot, drawing lots, puts anend to quarrels and decides
between powerful contenders.
A brother offended is moreunyielding than a strong city,
(23:20):
and quarreling is like the barsof a castle.
The fruit of a man's mouth.
His stomach is satisfied.
He is satisfied by the yield ofhis lips.
And to further clarify thatdeath and life are the power of
(23:40):
the tongue and those who love itwill eat its fruits.
Are you speaking life intopeople or are you speaking death
?
That is one of the hardestchallenges out there.
He who finds a wife finds agood thing and obtains favor
(24:01):
from the Lord.
The poor use entreaties, butthe rich answer roughly.
And a man of many companionsmay come to ruin, but there is a
friend who sticks closer than abrother.
Companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks
(24:23):
closer than a brother.
So the Bible is constantlywarning us about our tongues and
what we say and what we do, andI spoke about this multiple
times and I've now been puttingout shorts on this how easy it
is, particularly when you comefrom a family history of
negativity and tearing eachother down.
How quickly we fall into that, and that's something that I'm
(24:49):
constantly having to fight.
I'm trying to speak a liftingwords and empowering words.
I'm not perfect, but I thinkI'm getting way better.
The Proverbs man there's areason why there's 31.
(25:14):
You're supposed to read themevery day and just meditate on
them and apply them to your life, and none of them are like
secret, but, man, are they hard?
It's so hard to keep yourtongue in check, particularly
(25:38):
online in this world, thisTwitter world, where we zing
each other all the time.
So we'll now begin the thirdbattle, which is our fellowship
time, and we can start ourstrength and honor.
So let's do that.
So we got Lauren Strength andhonor.
Speaker 2 (25:56):
Strength can start
our strength and honor.
So let's do that.
So we got Lauren.
Speaker 1 (26:00):
Lindsey Troy.
Brandy.
That's who I've seen in chat sofar.
Anybody else, sound off andwe'll hit you up with the
strength and honor and we willtoast you.
(26:23):
It's important, I think.
You know our Lord's Supper is atoast Feast and a toast, and
we're all spread out around theworld so much.
Supper is a toast Feast and atoast and we're all spread out
around the world.
So much that toast can really.
(26:44):
You know, it's not as good assitting across the table, but it
can bridge the distance, Ithink.
So the things I wanted to talkabout tonight is you know how to
start prepping?
Or some people are asking and Ihad one of our listeners ask
for that and then one I threw inthere which is how to start
(27:07):
reading the Bible, particularlyif you're new to it, and we've
already talked about thecrucible.
But if anybody's havingchallenges or any thoughts on
that, I'd be happy to reflect onthat.
But let's start with the Bible.
How do you start reading theBible?
So many people, myself included, have tried to.
(27:29):
You know, until I read throughthe Bible the whole way,
attempted it many times beforeand then fell away because I
attempted to go from page oneall the way to the back, and
that's a gut check, man, and ifyou're doing it sometimes, most
of the times you don't retainmost of it because you're not
chewing it.
You're basically in this questto just run your eyes over every
(27:52):
word of this magic.
You know holy scripture to theend and you think it's going to
fix you by reading it, and whathappens is you need to
understand what you're readingNow.
God, through the Holy Spirit, can reveal things to you in that
(28:14):
, but there is a much moreeffective way of reading it, and
that's deliberately so.
The first thing you need to dois you need to find a
translation that is trustworthyand readable, and I have about
20 Bibles in the house, varioustranslations from various
(28:43):
scholars in study format, andthe one that I have found to be
(29:15):
the most accurate, in my opinion, and the most balanced, is the
English Standard Version StudyBible.
I compare study notes withinthat from the various scholars
that help put that togetherversus, say, rc Sproul's or John
MacArthur's or Chuck Smith's orwhoever the ESV mops the floor
with them.
Man, it's not even close.
I know there are some peopleout there who like King James
and the new King James, and Idon't have a problem with either
(29:37):
of those in particular.
But King James can be very hardto understand if you're not
versed in Old English, and Iwould not say it's the most
accurate bible, as some claimeither.
Um translation.
(30:01):
Now, there are times when I goand I'm like man, that didn't
make sense to me when I read it.
And I will go and I will haveto look at other versions, and
that's where it's great to havethe internet and you can just
pull up Psalm 18.
Okay, now we'd like to show yousomething here.
(30:21):
I'm going to pull this up soyou guys can see this.
I want to show you the vastdifference between versions of
(30:46):
what you're reading.
So I'm going to move these overso you can see this.
So let's just go down to thelast two verses, or the last,
(31:07):
let's say 20 through 24.
From the fruit of a man's mouth, his stomach is satisfied.
He is satisfied by the yield ofhis lips.
Actually, yeah, that's whatwe'll do.
We'll just look at 24.
We'll make it simple, okay, so24.
A man of many companions maycome to ruin, but there is a
friend who sticks closer than abrother.
That is the ESV.
Well, let's now look at, let'sgo to NIV or Legacy Standard.
(31:34):
We'll go to Legacy, which isone of my other go-tos, and
you'll see a man of too manyfriends comes to ruin, but
there's a friend who sticksclose to the road.
That's relatively the samething.
Right Now you go to NIV, the newinternational version, and one
(32:00):
who has unreliable friends sooncomes to ruin.
But there's a friend who sticksclose to the brother Okay, and
you're like huh, that doesn'treally necessarily mean the same
thing.
And then you go to the king'slet's see the new king jams
version.
A man who has friends musthimself be friendly.
(32:23):
What?
But there's a friend who stickscloser than a brother, okay,
and you know, because you keepgoing.
And then you can go to some ofthe softer ones.
You go to like the message, which is the furthest thing from
(32:45):
the real Bible verse.
But it's like friends come andgo, but a true friend sticks by
you like family, you know.
So you know, particularly inthese bullet points and proverbs
your, your, your, your versionmatters.
(33:06):
And looking at trusted resourcesand being able to say okay
matters and looking at trustedresources and being able to say
okay.
This wasn't clear to me.
And then you look at variousresources.
Then you know like okay, andthen what?
Well, I recommend you get astudy Bible like the English
standard version that I have, which is it's really thick,
because it's not only the Bible, but they took experts in every
(33:26):
book of the Bible and they hadthem write down and explain
things that are in there.
So when you have a question, you can look down and see that
(33:51):
that you join that.
You find someone who's done areading through the Bible,
whether it be like you know wedid, I don't know.
Well, I mean, I did all theGospels, I did all the way
through Leviticus.
You know where, every day I didit and it's still on the
internet, it's out there on thischannel, but you find someone
(34:13):
who goes through the Bible andexplains it to you.
Now, there are people out thereway better than me doing this.
There are some guys, particularly from like Calvary
or whatever, where they spend anhour unpacking one you know,
either one or sometimes half ofa verse, and I think that's
fantastic and I think that's agood way to go through it.
(34:34):
That is going to take you along time, you know.
Now I recommend you read fromand again, this is going to be
challenging, but you read fromGenesis through Deuteronomy.
(34:56):
Okay, so you're talking aboutGenesis, exodus, leviticus,
numbers and then Deuteronomy, and then go read, then turn to
the New Testament and do youknow.
And then go read, then turn tothe New Testament and do you
know, from the start on Matthew, and go all the way through the
back and then pick it back up.
(35:16):
The reason why you need to dothat is it gives you all the
context on why Jesus had to dowhat he had to do.
Okay, if you just pick up theNew Testament, you read the New
Testament, you don't have any ofthe backdrop, you don't have
any of the understanding of it.
Now, there's a lot of things inthe Old Testament and they're
(35:37):
all important, but when you're anew baby Christian, you need to
understand the setting, whathappened and why, and then why
Jesus had to do what he did, andthen what Jesus did and what
we're supposed to do, and that'sall the New Testament.
And then go back and thenyou'll be reading the Bible from
(35:57):
cover to cover for the rest ofyour life.
That is the most that you'llhave the highest success rate
and you'll get the most out ofthe Bible.
In my opinion, doing that Right, you're going to get the most
out of the Bible, in my opinion, doing that Right.
So, again, genesis throughDeuteronomy and then Matthew,
(36:17):
all the way through Revelation, and then pick it up you know, I
think it's John after that, youknow and then go through that
again and I think you'll have alot of success with that.
Also, get a study Bible.
Get at least a study Bible.
And then have your internetwhen you're reading and if you
come across something you'relike man, that sounded like
(36:39):
gobbledygook I don't know whatthat means.
Check out a couple otherversions, see if there's a theme
that sticks the same, and thenfind a good person who's gone
through the Bible chapter bychapter and listen to them.
Do expositional teaching on it,which is how I recommend you do
(37:01):
the Bible with prayer, okay, praying on it.
And if you do that, the studiesare if you read the Bible once
a week, nothing changes in yourlife.
Twice a week, not much changesin your life.
Three times a week, very littlechanges in your life.
Four times a week is theminimum of four times a week and
everything starts changing,okay.
(37:22):
So reading the Bible four daysa week, if you do it, seven here
and watch your here and watchyour life change.
Watch your life change.
So that's how I recommend youguys read the Bible.
If you have something that youdisagree with or you find that's
(37:45):
more effective, go ahead andhit me in the comments Also, at
this time, I really need youguys to do this because we are
trying to do this right.
I need you to like this.
I need you then to commentthree words on there.
I don't care what they are One,two, three, a, b, c, d, e, f, g
, space H, I, j, k, l, m, n, o,p, space, q, rs.
(38:14):
I don't care.
Three words on there, of course, share it if you want to share
it, but for the algorithm's sake, comments are King, all right,
so please do that.
Liking it starts it, but reallycommenting on it really makes
the difference.
Okay, so comment on it.
Thank you, thank you, thank you, all right.
(38:34):
So prepping, starting onprepping, you know where to
start.
You know, I've got a lot offriends who live in cities and
they're like what do I do?
And I'm like you got to moveout of the city, pretending
you're a prepper in the city.
Um is, you know, there's notmuch you can do and there's a
(38:58):
lot you can do.
But you know your wholeprepping is going to be about
getting bugging out, getting out, because it's impossible to
live in a city.
When a city collapses, there'sjust too many hungry people.
It's too easy to burneverything down once services
collapse and you may have guns, but there's not enough of you.
(39:20):
It's far too easy to burnpeople out.
So if you have to live in a cityand you want to start prepping,
you got to find a destinationthat's dry, that is very rural,
away from the population, nottoo close to a major city that
(39:42):
you can get to.
Okay, as we just saw in LA,when there's an emergency, if
you're not the first ones out, you're not getting out because
there's going to be gridlock.
Traffic is the problem.
That's why we don't live in bigcities.
Real preppers don't live in bigcities.
(40:03):
They don't.
You can fool yourself all youwant, but you're going to live
in a thunderdome.
It's going to be rough.
If you take this serious, you'll see every prepper lives
out somewhere or close to youknow, rural, and then they may
(40:23):
even have another bounce further.
Place further off, that is evenmore isolated, because people
are the problem Right, or theplace further off, that is even
more isolated, because peopleare the problem.
Now, if you live in a city, howcan you start prepping?
The first thing you need to doif you're going to prep is buy a
gun.
You need to get a gun.
Depending on your budget, youneed to have a gun that's to
(40:49):
protect everything else thatyou're going to buy.
You need a high-capacityfirearm, whether it be.
If you're only going to buy onething, then I would make it a
Glock 19 that you can carry.
Something like that that youcan carry every day if you had
to, even though it's a littlelarge and it's high capacity.
(41:12):
You can use it as a homedefense gun.
It's not the best at everything, but that's a good workhorse
for you.
You're going to buy two guns.
Buy that and then buy an AR-15.
Okay, if you're going to buythree, then you can start going
into your smaller guns here lock26s and your smaller sigs, etc.
(41:39):
And then you need to buy asmuch ammo as you can.
Start with 1,000 rounds andthen go from there.
The next thing you need to doafter you buy a firearm to
(42:01):
protect what you have, you needto get 90 days of food in your
house 90 days of food that youcan take with you.
This is like the freeze-driedstuff.
This is the stuff that you cantake with you on the go.
Realize that all thatfreeze-dried stuff that you're
talking about and all that stuffrequires water.
(42:23):
Your mountain houses and allyour other things.
They require you to boil waterto add to it.
So now you're going to need afilter, something that's going
to be able to filter water.
I recommend you get a Berkey.
So you got one gun, two guns, three guns right, you don't need
(42:48):
all three.
If you're only got enough forone, get the Glock 19,.
Like I said something similarGet your 90 days of food.
You have to start with 60,.
Start with 60.
Get yourself a water filterlike a Berkey, and that's your
(43:14):
starting point.
Then you're going to look atyour vehicle.
If you don't have a four-wheeldrive vehicle, what are you
doing?
Get a four-wheel drive vehicle.
No, all-wheel drive does notcount.
(43:40):
If you live in a city, figureout where you're going, because
when stuff goes bad, you can'tstay in a city.
Stuff goes bad, you can't stayin a city, and when you live in
a city, you have no fudge room.
You got to get out of Dodgewhen you get your first warning.
(44:02):
If you wait, you won't get out, depending on how bad it is.
It's going to take peopleusually two to three days to
figure out that stuff hascollapsed or things are bad.
From moment you know minute oneof the emergency, you're going
(44:32):
to start making as much distanceand getting out of the cities
as fast as you can from thatmoment, before the carjackings,
and people realize that it'slife or death, and they're going
to try to take everything fromyou because it's either their
family dies or your family diesone and that's that's how
(44:53):
hardcore it is.
That's how it's want to bewalking distance to where you're
(45:19):
planning on going, because thecities eventually will empty out
and people will start walkingon the walk, 10, 20 miles a day,
heading out, heading to thehills, heading wherever, and
they're going to be trying to.
(45:40):
They're going to be desperate, going to be desperate.
Read the book one second after, and then one year after the
final day and then five yearslater.
The first two books in that areabsolutely horrifying, but it's
(46:01):
a good wake-up call.
Now, if you've got a window, youcan go.
Buy a five-gallon bucket, putsome dirt in it, put some
potatoes in it and you can growunlimited potatoes out of a
five-gallon jug.
Okay, with a window you can dothat.
(46:24):
Everyone should at least dothat to start.
You want to be a super gardener?
That's what all you need to doPotatoes great, because they're
a starch.
All this low carb crap goes outthe window.
(46:44):
In a prepper situation, youwant as many calories as you can
get.
The only advantage I have beinga fat guy right now is that
everyone else is going to bestarving.
Skinny people will be starvingin the first 30-60 days and I
will be fine.
That's why, when I guest speak,I say I'm prepping 60 days and
(47:06):
I will be fine.
That's why, when I guest speak,I say I'm prepping Look at all
the ripped people and they'll belike you got nothing on, you
got no food, you don't have anypreps on you, man.
So I think you know we'll leaveit at that.
(47:35):
I'm going to start with theweapons that I told you about,
weapons that I told you aboutFood, water, vehicle.
Go from there.
Then comes your medicine.
(47:55):
It comes like your medicine, first aid kits, go bags, all
those other things, but let'sjust start with that, all right.
So let's hear about how yourtriple coincidence that's great.
I'd love to hear how yourforging is going.
Mine's been a struggle.
It's been a struggle, but it'sbecause I've been on the road
(48:16):
and been busy and had a lot ofstuff going on lauren out of
town, blah, blah, blah, kidsgone, you know, just had a lot
of stuff going on.
Lauren out of town, blah, blah, blah, kids gone, you know just,
it has been the most chaotictwo weeks to do this imaginable,
with the most non-optimal setup.
But if I can do it, you can doit, and if I can do it, you can
(48:38):
do it.
And the you know the 9-8challenge has already worked and
it's magic, it's blessings andthe word more.
No, I'm going to be heldaccountable.
I didn't get it done, didn'tget my reading done.
What am I doing, late at night, sitting up reading my Bible.
How awesome is that?
Instead of just messing aroundor looking at news or playing a
(49:03):
game or whatever, I'm doing itbecause I've got to do it,
because I'm doing it for Christ, and I told you guys I'd do it.
And you guys are telling meyou'd do it.
So that's how it works.
That's how it works.
(49:40):
You know.
The working out part has beenthe challenging one for me
because I've been on the roadand and let me tell you
something, after doing eight, nine hours on the road, my knees
are smoked.
I just had a knee replacementand that is tough.
So cheerful coconut said, putit up on the screen Struggle,
sickness, being past, schoolstuff, crazy work schedule, et
(50:01):
cetera.
But we're glad we're doing itagain.
It's the only way that I'vefound to hold my life together
and to actually make progress asa Christian.
Honestly, I'm glad you're doingit too, but it's the only way
that I've found to steadily makegains in my faith and with my
walk.
So Lauren said two days backbut it's going well so far, not
(50:26):
hitting all the categories daily, but faith has been getting
going better for me this timearound, and faith is the most
important one.
If all you did for 90 days wasthe faith portion, you were
going to be way better off thanyou were before, because you
weren't doing everything elsebefore and you weren't doing
faith.
So don't beat yourself up.
(50:49):
Don't beat yourself up over it.
Faith, family, fitness,fundamental finances Now,
fundamentals and finances don'thave to be a new thing every day
.
Say, this week, I'm working onbudgeting this next two weeks or
(51:11):
whatever.
And if you're doing that, you're honestly doing it.
Do it if, um, fundamentals, ifyou're reading a book, great,
(51:32):
you know.
But faith and the fitness andthe family, keep putting that in
there.
And if you don't post it on theday and you still did it that
doesn't mean you have to dotwice.
It just means that you werelate posting it.
I mean, I understand thingshappen.
This isn't like some rigidwhatever that you have to post
(51:54):
it by 11 59 on that day or elsewhatever.
Just post what you did notpolice.
Yeah, lauren's got an unfairadvantage.
She does farm fit with a 35pound weight on her back every
day, which is the baby.
But that's all I'm going to dotoday.
(52:24):
I'm going to pray us out.
Um, unless you guys got somethings there, I get a check.
I know Lauren was posting.
I was up for like um, like 36,38 hours straight, so I tried to
get some um.
So I had to see some peopletrying to join the forging right
(52:44):
now.
I got Nick Davey Go ahead andI'll prove him.
And then I got George CogginsAll right, you guys are in.
So welcome to the forge, get onthere, see where it's at.
(53:07):
Um, I don't know, lawrence, youcan tell me if you post it today
or not, or I'll get it in thereagain.
I just was crushed afteryesterday I was, you know, it
was a nine hour drive there, gotin late, did a five hour, you
know, lecture, training, training, and then nine hours
back with no sleep the nightbefore.
So, um, it was, it was a, itwas a, it was a, it was a
(53:33):
challenging time.
We'll just say I think I wenton my last stop I bought four
black rifle coffee, 300milligram coffee drinks and
wolfed them all down.
So I did like 1200 milligrams.
I chugged the first 600.
So I did two, sipped the thirdand then finished the fourth
(53:58):
before I got home.
So I'm surprised my heartdidn't explode.
But, um, good stuff either way.
So I'm going to go ahead andpray us out.
I'm going to go post today, cause I thought Lauren did, but
she did not.
And, uh, you'll see the date.
It'll just say one, 1825, andyou'll see us all start entering
our stuff in there.
(54:18):
Hey, joseph, good to see you, brother.
Speaker 2 (54:22):
Strength and honor.
Strength and honor, strengthand honor.
Hey, joseph, good to see youbrother.
Speaker 1 (54:32):
Well, I needed I'll
tell you that it was iced coffee
or chilled coffee from thething but I needed those 1200
milligrams of caffeine to gethome.
I'll tell you that right now.
So let's go ahead and let'spray this out, wrap it up, call
it a home.
I'll tell you that right now, let's go ahead and let's pray
this out, wrap it up, call it anight, and I'll see you at
church tomorrow.
I'm still going to write mysermon, but that's how crazy
this has been.
Heavenly Father, lord, I thankyou.
(54:53):
I thank you for this group.
I thank you for everyone who'sjoined me in locking shields
around each other to do the90-Day Forging challenge, but I
thank you also with people herewho do aren't in the challenge.
You are just here startingtheir journey and they're trying
to decide if whether they wantto commit all the way or not.
(55:14):
But they are welcome to be here.
They can jump when they want tojump, or the.
You put this group on my heartto rally like-minded men and
women who weren't victims, whowere shield men and shield women
(55:38):
, shield maidens, warriors, oneand all wanting to fight for
their family, fight for theircommunity, fight for their faith
.
That's what we're here to do,lord.
We're not like others who arejust going to sit there and say
I'm a prayer warrior no, no, no,no.
(55:58):
We do prayer warrior stuff.
Yes, we pray, but we alsoprepare for the kinetic.
We trust in you, lord, we donot test you.
And, yes, we know our enemiesare the powers and
principalities and we understandthat they are puppets, those
(56:19):
puppets, the evil people of thisworld that we have to protect
our families and communitiesagainst.
So, lord, I pray a prayer ofmotivation, discernment,
strength and peace, strength andpeace.
(56:43):
Everyone out there who'slistening right now wants to
join us on this 90-day cruciblechallenge, or forging challenge.
I've got to get used to that.
That is going to commit to oneanother, hold each other
accountable, pick each other upwhen we fall, pray for one
another.
(57:03):
But I pray for everyone in thechallenge right now, wherever
they're weak, lord, meet themthere, show up their faith, make
them hungry for the word andget alone with you.
Lord, bring people, their lovedones, to them.
Set appointments, lord, so theycan pour into people, heal
(57:27):
broken relationships, leadpeople to the Lord or multiply
their time and show them wherethey can get their fitness in.
Broaden their minds so theylearn and acquire, sharpen their
skill, set their fundamentals, bless them financially, give
(57:53):
them discernment to cut away allthe waste in their lives and to
make each dollar count andmultiply it.
I pray that, I ask that.
I pray a prayer of protectionand peace for this fellowship,
(58:15):
the persecuted church, for ourtroops overseas, our first
responders at home and ourveterans of yesteryear for the
whole world that we don't gointo World War III.
For our president-elect, donaldTrump, all of our patriots in
office who will be fighting forour freedom and for you, lord.
(58:36):
And I pray that America wouldhumble herself, turn from her
sin, hit her knees and seek yourface, that you would see her,
heal her so that we could onceagain be one nation under God,
indivisible liberty and justicefor all.
I call this fellowship toattention to put on the full
(59:00):
armor of God, strap on theshield of faith, to pick up the
sword of the Spirit, boldly stepforward to join the shield wall
, locking shields to the leftand right as we march forward,
to take ground for your kingdom, for your glory forever.
In Jesus' name we pray, amen.
God bless you all.
I will see you tomorrow atchurch.
It'll be about 11.15 and 11.20when we're done with worship, so
(59:26):
that's when we'll be throwing alive.
God bless you, love you guys.
See you then, bye.
