Speaker 1 (00:00):
Okay, we're good, all
right.
Happy Lord's Day to you.
Happy Father's Day, happy theFather's Day, and welcome to
Christian Warrior Mission.
Welcome to Christian WarriorMission home, church, community
ministry and farm.
Christian Warrior Missionforges men and families into
battle-ready disciples of KingJesus, locking shields on seven
(00:21):
God-given fronts faith, familyfitness, finances, fundamentals,
fellowship and fidelityadvancing on each front every
single day.
So locking shields on sevengod-given fronts faith, family
fitness, finances, fundamentals,fellowship and fidelity
advancing on each front everysingle day.
So christ is honored, hispeople are protected and his
kingdom surges in every sphereof life.
Advance on every front everyday, no excuses, no retreats.
So again, you actually got someannouncements and some funny
(00:44):
things to talk about.
We can do that, all right.
So the project of the farm andeverything that's going on.
So everyone who watchesLauren's social media account,
which is now Christian WarriorHomestead Is that what it's
called, babe?
Yes, christian WarriorHomestead on Instagram and
Lauren on Lauren Perry onFacebook.
(01:08):
You guys know that we had a newbaby calf born, named Chuck.
All right, chuck is half blackAngus, half Jersey, and he's a
cute little fella.
And uh and Maple, you know, pushed him out real easy.
We didn't even have to assist, just had to kind of get him off
of.
They always choose to givebirth in the weirdest places and
(01:32):
she did this right up againstthe fence so we had to get him
up out of there to make surethat he didn't get caught on the
barbed wire and hurt himself orany of that stuff.
But pretty drama-free birthing.
But since then Chuck has becomean escape artist.
So Lauren is all into thisregenerative farming stuff.
(01:53):
So instead of having nice, neatlow grass, we have a jungle
outback, a chaotic jungleoutback, and because of the
chaotic jungle outback Chuckvanishes, because he's just a
little baby calf when he goesinto the grass, particularly
that night.
He's gone.
(02:14):
You can't see him.
So we Chuck was missing forhours and we were driving around
all night looking for Chuck.
We weren't sure if he was onproperty.
You know, we thought he had tohave left the property because a
good friend of mine, adrianCarrasco, another company, rix,
(02:37):
donated this thermal to us andit's called the RTX Pocket K k2
and this thermal is the bomb.
I mean it's a great little highheld um, you know, handheld uh
thermal imager and we could seebunny rabbits, everything all
over the farm, um, the big cows, but we couldn't see chuck and
(03:02):
we were driving all the placelooking for Chuck and finally
Chuck made a sound and I wasable to turn the thermal to
catch him and when he stood uphe was like a light bulb out
there in the middle of the field.
The second he would go down onthe grass he'd vanish.
So it was pretty interesting.
But thank you, adrian and umand RIX for this thermal.
(03:27):
It helped us find our baby calf.
We're also we were supposed toprocess 20 something chickens
here um days ago, but we'regetting ready to go on um on a
trip and um and we're justbehind, as always.
(03:48):
So we're going to process themright when we get back.
So we'll have 20, I think 20Cornish cross giant Cornish
cross chickens that we'll beadding to the freezer here
pretty soon.
We have a lot of milk we eatbecause Mocha, who I think, has
the best milk I've ever tastedin my life it's like melted ice
(04:09):
cream, it's so darn good, um.
And now maple's milk is comingin, like the colostrum has
passed and now like thecolostrum which a lot of people
buy colostrum for, you know, forhealth reasons.
But we give that to the babycalf, who needs it way more than
we do and she's getting readyto come online.
(04:30):
So the pigs are getting gallonsof milk like gallons.
They get 15 gallons.
Sometimes I'm bringing themback there to dump to the pigs
for them to do, which is greatfor them to grow and put on
weight.
The other good news because Ihaven't talked about farming
forever is, I think both of ourI think both Peg Pig and Oink
(04:55):
are pregnant.
So we should have somewhere 20and 32 piglets here later on
this summer, because they havebetween eight and 16 and they've
been on the higher end of that.
So, um, those are fun days onthe farm.
(05:16):
Boy, there are a few things, and having fun is having piglets
on the farm.
They're like little puppies butthey become independent like
within two days.
They're like running aroundfull bore, two, three days and
they're fun, they're cute andthey're yummy, so so they are
the kind of the best of bothworlds.
So, yeah, we got lots of goodstuff.
(05:39):
Um, going on the farm.
I think we're down to 12turkeys, I don't know.
Lauren will tell me.
I think it's think we're downto 12 turkeys, I don't know.
Lauren will tell me, I thinkit's 12.
We're in 12.
We had gotten I think 16 or 15,and we lost.
We always have some attrition.
We lost a few, and what's that?
We don't have 16 turkeysanymore, sweetie, that's how
(06:00):
many we started with.
I don't think we have that muchmore because we lost some.
So, anyways, we're going tohave a ton of turkey come turkey
, because we usually keep aboutsix to eight for us.
We keep about six, we'll seehow many.
We might have some turkeysavailable out there for people
who want giant, yummy turkeyscome fall.
(06:23):
We process them usually aroundSeptember.
Thirteen, thirteen.
So, anyways, so good, good, good stuff on the farm.
I have some more amazinganswered prayers that we'll get
(06:44):
into when we get back.
The next thing I'm going to sayis there's, no, I don't think
there's going to be a churchservice next week because our
flight gets in so late.
So, unless everything goesright and I'm able, you know,
I'm just going to say next weekthere won't be service just
because we'll be in Dallas, texas, for our first
(07:06):
unaccompanied children,unaccompanied company trip in
six years.
So Lauren and I are going tohave a blast in Dallas for work,
and prayers will be appreciatedto help us, you know, for
Trident Shield to do well and tohelp protect schools there and
(07:28):
meet like-minded Christians andall that other stuff.
So again, I'm speaking there onhow to protect your flock at a
conference, the ACCS Repairingthe Ruins Conference.
So again, if you guys couldpray that God blesses us with
that, that would be amazing.
So, other than that,everything's good.
Everything's awesome.
(07:48):
I know I haven't been on socialmedia.
I've been running the businessand getting back into shape.
I am now for those of you whocare and I know this is Sunday
and it's not about me, but Iknow so many of you tune in who
we have personal relationshipsand this is how you catch up,
since we don't do that.
But I've got about three monthsin the gym now, coming back,
(08:11):
and things are going great.
So I look forward to continuingto get healthier and healthier,
since my knee replacement andthen my back attack and then
COVID and everything else.
So thank you, thank you, thankyou.
Thank you for your prayers.
Everything is going great, nocomplaints.
Life is good.
So now let's get into ourFather's Day sermon at 21
(08:33):
minutes past, so sorry for alittle bit of socialization time
there.
So the seven daily fronts thatwe talked about we're going to
get into that here in a littlebit, but, as you guys know, we
have been going over ourcatechisms.
Catechism is basically knowingwhat you believe and its
(08:56):
questions and answers, soknowing your belief system and
why you believe it.
So we have we're on our thirdquestion, and this is something
that we do, we're going to talkabout in the sermon every night
at dinner and usually even inthe morning.
We, at breakfast, we go overthe weekly catechism and we're
(09:19):
building on them.
So the first thing we ask isthe easy one, and then we were
on two and now we're going to beon them.
So the first thing we ask isthe easy one, and then we were
on two and now we're going to beon three.
So eventually we'll bereviewing three as we build all
the way up through these.
Okay, these are reallyimportant to know because it's
basically what do you believe,right?
So the first one and again, thereason why I got into this is I
(09:40):
saw a secular version of thisonline and it was so darn
powerful what they were doingwith warrior imagery and all
that stuff, and I'm like man, weneed to be doing that.
Getting it out of funnylanguage and making it just
resonates with you.
It's just very powerful.
(10:00):
So the first question is whatis your life?
And the answer is to glorifyGod, honoring and exalting in
him forever.
Okay, two, whom do you serve?
I serve the Lord of hosts, father, son and Holy Spirit, the
one true God, my creator.
Right.
He created you, then heredeemed you and he sustained
(10:24):
you, an eternal king.
Okay, so again, I serve theLord, a host, father, son and
Holy Spirit, the one true God,my creator, redeemer, sustainer
and eternal king.
And the girls have been almostflawless with them.
Okay, they have done a reallygood, really, really, really
good job of that, and I wassurprised, because it shows you
(10:45):
how much of sponges they are, and, of course, lauren is and I
just my short-term memory isgarbage, so I have to lean into
them a little bit more to getthem verbatim.
Now, this week's question, orcatechism, is who is Jesus
Christ?
And this is a longer one, okay,so I'm going to read it three
times and I'm going to post allthree of these on the website.
(11:09):
I mean, not on the website, buton the Facebook page.
Okay, who is Jesus Christ?
Jesus Christ is the eternal Sonof God, made flesh, a warrior
king who conquered sin, deathand the devil, and now rules at
the right hand of the Father.
Okay, who is Jesus Christ?
Jesus Christ is the eternal Sonof God, made flesh, our warrior
(11:32):
king who conquered sin, deathand the devil, and now rules at
the right hand of the FatherLast time.
Who is Jesus Christ?
Jesus Christ is the eternal Sonof God.
Made flesh.
Is Jesus Christ?
Jesus Christ is the eternal sonof God made flesh, our warrior
king, who conquered sin, deathand the devil and now rules at
the right hand of the father.
Okay, and I'm sure getting somecrazy feedback way over there
(11:54):
and I don't understand.
That's like the other side ofthe room.
But anyways, many of you whoyou know, know what you believe
would get there and be able tosound out these things and talk
through it to get there.
But just having a question andanswer, we should be able to do
this, particularly when I thinkof all the useless songs.
I know, like I know someuseless songs.
(12:16):
I mean everything from puff themagic dragon to sesame street,
to perina cat Chow, chow, chow, chow.
Right, I mean stupidcommercials that were on the TV
when I was a kid.
You know that have no businessbeing in my head, but I don't
know what I believe with God,like that, right?
(12:37):
So, again, this is reallyreally important stuff to know.
So, at one, you're always readyto defend the faith and you're
always ready, you know, to offeran answer when someone asks
what does this mean?
Like, who do you think Jesus is?
Well, you know no, right.
And so we're going to continueto build on those and they're
(13:02):
going to get more and more andmore.
And like anything like whenyou're memorizing the times
tables when you're a kid, this, and that the more you do it, the
more you're going to know it,until you can't forget it, right
, you think.
But you forget some, okay, butyou'll memorize most of them,
right?
So, anyways, let's go ahead andlet's pray this in and get
(13:26):
rolling.
So let's go ahead and pray.
I'm sorry we're not praying yet.
Yeah, all right.
So now, all right, sorry, newformat, apologize.
So, brothers and sisters, todayis not a Hallmark holiday.
It's a roll call at the frontline of history.
From Eden's garden to the gatesof your own home, every
(13:49):
generation has been decided onthe ground held or forfeited by
fathers.
God plants dads on the frontline of discipleship, the first
wall of defense, the tip of thespear and the first forge of
defense.
The tip of the spear and thefirst forge of legacy.
When fathers stand, tallfamilies flourish, churches
(14:11):
advance and cultures are rebuilt.
When fathers fall asleep attheir post, darkness pours
through that breach.
So this evening we're nothanding out polite compliments,
we're issuing marching orders.
We will open God's word and runa pre-mission self-assessment
and lock on to fivenon-negotiables that every man
(14:34):
under Christ must hold.
We will remember that the sameking who crushed sin, death and
the devil now commands us toguard the gate, guide the path
and grow an unbreakable legacyfor his glory.
Men of God, this is your sit, rep.
The enemy is real, the hour islate and the battle is for your
(14:56):
family.
But Christ, our warrior king, has armed you with his spirit,
his word and his victory.
Today we get ourselves squaredaway, stand tall and take the
next hill of this battlefieldtogether.
So why am I doing this type ofsermon today?
I know there's a lot of peoplenew to faith that watch this,
(15:21):
this service, and a lot of themare my military brothers and law
enforcement or first respondersor just dudes who don't really
fit in anywhere in a soft, mushy, beta male church.
There is nothing harder inChristianity than being a sinner
(15:45):
, an atheist dad who gets savedlater in his kid's life.
Right, where, here you are, complete train wreck.
Jesus rescues you.
Now you're reborn, right, butyou still have everything you
did wrong with your kids andyou've still wounded all your
(16:06):
children and all yourrelationships and everyone
around you.
And it takes a while to earncredibility and trust and
everything to show like, yes, you're redeemed and yes, you're
sinning and your sin is gone andyou're going to heaven.
But that doesn't mean thatyou've turned the page with
(16:28):
everyone in your life andfathers and soon-to-be fathers
and people who will be fathersone day.
You must understand thatcredibility and trust is earned,
okay, particularly when youwere the train wreck that you
were before you were saved, allright.
So I wanted to do a sermon onhow to build, from a biblical
(16:53):
perspective, trust and how toearn the right to lead in your
family, as the Bible commandsyou to.
Okay, so this is a step in that.
Okay, so this is a step in that.
Okay.
Now we are going to do anotherforging that we have fleshed.
I've fleshed it out way morethan it has ever been in the
(17:15):
past, with activities andexamples and just all kinds of
stuff to make it so much easierto do the forging.
But this here is a beginningstep, right?
So baby steps for you to startdoing these things, because when
you're going to lead yourfamily, right, you can't lead
your family until you've gottenyourself straight.
(17:36):
So great, you just gave yourlife to Christ, right?
You know, the Holy Spiritcalled you home.
You did it, great.
Now, what?
Now you're going to run themost holy household ever, when
you have no idea what you'redoing.
Now, the main thing is you don'thave to know everything.
(17:56):
You don't have to knoweverything.
In fact, you know there's aDoug Wilson, who's a very
influential part of my faithjourney, started a classical
Christian school around hiskitchen table and they decided
the board decided they weregoing to teach Latin and nobody
(18:19):
spoke Latin.
So Doug went to college thatnight and learned Latin and was
literally one week ahead of theclass that he was teaching.
Okay, now I don't recommend yoube one week ahead.
I've set a standard of aboutlike 30 days ahead, right, but
getting yourself on the road for, say, 30 days or so, showing
(18:45):
that you're new and again, longer is better.
But it's amazing what God cando 30 days of living right, 30
days of walking the walk, 30days of talking the talk, 30
days of being a completely newperson, and people are gonna
start noticing and they're gonnastart seeing that you're
(19:05):
different and they will becomecurious on why you're different.
Now, it doesn't mean they'reall going to jump on board, okay
, but it's a start, and you mayneed 60 days, you may need 90.
But we'll start with, say, 30.
Okay, so what does a godlyfather sound like?
Right, so what does a godlyfather sound like?
(19:27):
You guys know our seven pillarsand this is what I believe a
godly father is and what theystand on.
And they have the seven pillarsthat we talked about faith,
family fitness, fundamentals,finances, fellowship and
fidelity.
So faith, his trust in God,isn't a feeling, it's a full
(19:50):
combat mindset.
He doesn't just believe theBible, he wields it like a great
sword, cutting down doubtbefore it even breathes.
Family, his leadership isn'tabout dominance.
Leadership isn't aboutdominance, it's about dying to
self daily.
Like Christ's sacrifice for thechurch, he lays down his life
(20:12):
to protect, provide and disciplehis household.
This is the hardest one Handsdown, the hardest one.
And I'll tell you, coming outof a season of sickness where
you're not even half yourselfand you have deconditioned
(20:32):
because you've been sick andsurgeries and injuries and blah,
blah, blah.
It's hard to shake off the gumand the gunk and the rust and
everything else and to step inand it hurts.
Everything hurts to move in thebeginning, but the more you
move, the better you move.
Okay, so again, dying to selfman, I challenge you.
(20:55):
And this has not been this wayhere, always, in fact, I would
say particularly recently, lauren has been the one that has
been dying herself because shetook care of me and this whole
family for a very long time.
And as I am stepping into myhealthy, what's going on with
(21:19):
this and I'm sorry if it'sblowing out your ears I'm going
to try to push it away a littlebit so it doesn't.
I'm not trying to show youchest hair or anything.
I'm just trying to make it notgive feedback.
I am going to start trying to.
I'm going to start steppinginto the role where, if anyone's
(21:42):
going to bed exhausted at night, it should be the man.
The most tired person going tobed exhausted at night.
It should be the man.
The most tired person going tobed should be the man every
night.
If you're not, you're doing itwrong, or you're in a season
where you can't, okay, or you'rein a season when you can't.
You were gifted testosteroneand you were gifted strength,
(22:05):
and you were gifted strength andyou were gifted stoicism and so
many other things for you torun this way.
Okay.
Now my wife is the outlier inthis.
She's the most stoic personI've ever met in my life.
Okay, she's hardcore.
Natural births like nothing, just no screaming, no drama,
(22:38):
just her in her pain cavegetting it done.
And that's been her foreverything.
She does not externalizesuffering, she internalizes it,
which is a model for all of us,right, but we as men should be
dying to self and serving, andthere will come seasons when you
(22:58):
fall and the family will needto come around you when you're
injured or sick or God knowswhat's going on.
But that is your role to die toself, protect, provide and
disciple the household.
Fitness.
His body isn't a couch potato'sgrave, it's a weapon of
righteousness.
He lifts and trains like asoldier, because weakness
(23:20):
dishonors his creator.
God blessed us to be vibrant.
We know people who God gavechallenges.
They have no arms and legs andthey still have more vibrance
than many healthy people whojust sit around and moan and
groan.
No, we must glorify God becausewe are made in his image.
(23:46):
Fundamentals, father masters,combatives, firearms and
homesteading skills, not forpride, but to defend and nourish
his tribe.
Like the man of Issachar, heunderstands the times and has
hands to act.
Finance His money isn't for fun, it's a war chest Debt is the
(24:11):
enemy's snare and financialdiscipline is spiritual
firepower.
A godly man he owns.
He never is owned.
He never is owned.
Fellowship he doesn't chillwith just anybody.
His brothers areiron-sharpening commandos.
(24:32):
They don't gossip, they praylike a special ops team storming
the gates of hell.
Fidelity His marriage isn't acontract, it's a covenant, blood
pact.
Lust is treason and his eyesare locked on his queen.
He doesn't stray, he slaystemptation with the sword of the
(24:56):
spirit.
The weak father builds on sin.
The godly man his house standson seven pillars of fire.
When the storm comes, his housestands on seven pillars of fire
.
When the storm comes, his linewon't budge.
When the world burns, hislegacy will rule.
Therefore, my beloved brethren,be steadfast, immovable, always
(25:19):
abounding in the work of theLord.
1 Corinthians 15, 58.
Let us pray.
Lord Jesus, warrior, king ofheaven and earth.
You bore our wounds andconquered sin.
Forge us today into fathers whomight fight with honor, love
hard and lead well.
(25:39):
Grant us ears to hear yourorders and wills, to obey them.
In your victorious name we prayamen.
So I always do the Lord's Prayer.
I believe in learning andarming our fellowship of the
Lord's Prayer.
I often teach it.
(25:59):
I won't teach it today, but Iwill go over it, so you should
know it.
So if you're ever in a time ofneed, you can go to the Lord's
Prayer and pray.
Pray like the best who is Jesus.
So pray then in this way OurFather who is in heaven,
hallowed be your name.
Your kingdom come.
Your will be done on earth asit is in heaven.
(26:20):
Give us this day our dailybread and forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven ourdebtors.
And do not lead us intotemptation, but deliver us from
the evil one, for yours is thekingdom and the power and the
glory forever.
Amen.
The two direct texts we're goingto focus on tonight are short
and small, which I'm sure youguys will be relieved.
(26:41):
1 Timothy 4.16 Pay closeattention to yourself and to the
teaching Perseverance in thesethings, for in doing this you
will save both yourself andthose who hear you.
Proverbs 27 A righteous man whowalks in his integrity.
(27:04):
How blessed are his sons afterhim.
So I lied, we've got one moreverse here.
That is just part of this.
So a self-assessment Before wedo anything, before you do a
(27:27):
mission as a SEAL or you're acop and you're a SWAT team and
you're going on a raid, orbefore you even go to work in
the morning what do you do whenyou roll out of bed?
You do an assessment right, like if lives are on the line
and you have a zero-mistakeprofession.
You're a doctor, you're a SEAL,you're a cop, you're a pilot.
(27:48):
You've got to ask yourself am Iokay, physically right?
If I can't walk, I can'toperate.
If I can't see, I can't be asurgeon.
If I can't stand, I can'treally do anything.
You know, if I'm dizzy, I gotno business being a pilot.
(28:10):
That's the physical part.
The spiritual where are youspiritually Now?
This is the one whereeveryone's walking around
wounded until they get saved.
And even after they're saved,if something's fraying in your
life or some part is out ofbalance with god, god will take
away your peace and you will bemiserable and it'll affect
(28:32):
everything.
You do, not.
The mission, that's not.
I mean, those are veryimportant and work and all that
stuff.
But this is talking about yourfamily, okay, we're talking
about fathers.
So when you get up in themorning you're like, hey,
physically okay, I'm there, Ican walk, I can do.
Okay, today's a great day forme physically.
Or I am good to go physicallytoday.
(28:55):
You may not be 100, but you'regood to go.
That's a day where you need tocharge in that day and be the
best asset you can beSpiritually.
We all need to assess ourselvesspiritually.
Are we in a good place or a badplace?
You know what I'm talking about.
We all have peaks and valleysright of where we're at and when
(29:16):
you're in a valley and you getfrustrated, you can seriously
wound people around you andyou've got to be aware that
you're in a valley and you'vegot to work to get out of it
Mentally.
Knowing where you are mentally, you know it flows into
(29:38):
spiritually.
If you're angry, you know that'sa good part of that is
spiritual.
You know anger is a poison.
It's something we poisonourself with because of somebody
else's actions usually, andit's kind of ridiculous when you
think about it that way, we getangry and punish ourselves.
(29:58):
The blood pressure goes up, ourcortisol levels spike.
Everything we're punishing,literally poisoning ourselves
physiologically, because usuallyof someone else's actions.
Mentally, there are days whenyou're sharp and you can do that
(30:19):
, and you get to recognize thatwhen you assess yourself in the
morning Is it a day where maybeyou're physically lagging as a
dad.
You're sore, your back isacting up this and that, but
your mind is sharp.
Well then, dive into bills, dive into your finances, dive
into the Bible, dive intosomething.
Lead where you can, when youcan, because you're not going to
(30:41):
be able to lead in everythingall the time.
Okay, so do a self-assessment.
Some things to think about onyour self-assessment and areas
you're lagging.
Could or should your wife andchildren imitate your current
prayer, life, browser history, spending and activity habits?
(31:06):
Look yourself in the mirror, think back and like what you've
done the past month.
Would you want your kids doingthat?
Hidden sin detonates anddestroys trust like a negligent
discharge, which is whensomebody accidentally shoots off
(31:28):
their gun, which is like amassive no-no in any operational
environment.
So here are some practicedrills to help you with this.
Do a spiritual audit.
Spend 60 minutes of solitude.
That's not every day.
60 minutes of solitude, that'snot every day.
60 minutes of solitude with aBible and journal.
(31:51):
List your sins and pray Psalm139, 23 through 24, and here's
what that is.
Search me, o God, and know myheart.
Try me and know my anxiousthoughts and see if there are
any hurtful way in me and leadme in the everlasting way.
Now I told you something elsewhen you're doing the spiritual
(32:15):
assessment and something youneed to do once you've analyzed
yourself and you've found allthese problems Pray Psalm
51.10-13.
I'm reading out of the LegacyStandard Bible.
Created me a clean heart, o God.
Renew a steadfast spirit withinme.
(32:35):
Do not cast me away from yourpresence and do not take your
Holy Spirit from me.
Restore to me the joy of yoursalvation and sustain me with
the willing spirit.
Then I will teach transgressorsyour way and sinners will
return to you Again.
(32:59):
It's not about you, father.
It's all about then.
I will teach transgressors yourway and sinners will return to
you.
There's an amazing quote by JohnOwen and I'm putting this in my
Rolodex Be killing sin or itwill be killing you.
(33:23):
Be killing sin or it will bekilling you.
Be killing sin or it will bekilling you.
I can't think of any truerwords than that.
So you look at your life andyou see your problems and
there's a lot, and fixing all ofthem at once is too hard.
(33:46):
I'm going to give you fivenon-negotiables to walk up Daily
word and prayer.
First cup of coffee with Jesus.
One chapter with prayer.
Log it in a journal if you haveto, but do that every day.
Sunday Lord's Day worshippriority Plan everything around
(34:11):
Sunday worship.
No secular activity replacesworship.
No games, no movies, no events,no, nothing.
I see so many parents whosquander entire seasons on
soccer on Sunday or football onSunday and they let these kids
(34:34):
sign up for these sports andencourage them to do it instead
of church.
What are you telling your childLong after football's gone?
And baseball and soccer andwhatever it is that you were
doing on sunday, you will havethe eternal creator to answer to
.
You're teaching them that he'snot important, that hobbies are
(35:01):
more important than that, andthere's nothing less.
There's nothing less true thanthat lie, family, worship and
connection.
You saw us doing this early.
Memorize one catechism questioneach week.
Discuss its meaning nightly atthe dinner table, invest
(35:21):
intentional time and energy inforging strong relationships
within your household and closefriends and, each week with your
family, have a fun debrief.
You should be having fun withyour family.
Your kids should be having fun.
Now, majority of their life isfun.
Okay, well, they're kids, that's why they're kids, all
right, but you should be a partof that, or else you're missing
(35:41):
out.
Physical readiness Set yourcurrent standard and work to
improve it.
Whether it's doing a two-mileruck, you know, putting a
backpack with some weight on andseeing how fast you can do a
two-mile.
See where you're at right nowand then improve on that.
See how many pull-ups you cando, how many push-ups you can do
(36:03):
.
Whatever it is.
I'm not here to be your fitnesscoach, but you should be
improving and you should beworking towards something.
Purity protocols this is one ofthe most important things you
can do to make sure that youdon't commit an apocalyptic
mistake.
Spouses should have full accessto each other's phones and
(36:27):
emails and social media accounts.
I encourage spouses to share asocial media account in certain
situations, which I wouldn't be.
Lauren has hers and Lauren hasmine.
I can look at it and whatever, and all that stuff, and that's
fine, but I see a lot of peoplesolving this problem with it
(36:47):
being Joey and Amy's Facebookpage and everyone interacts
there.
If I have to text with a femaleor the opposite sex, I do a
group text with Lauren in it.
Lauren, when she talks to a guy, does the same thing with me.
All right, that is not becausewe don't trust each other.
(37:16):
It's to never give the devil atoehold in anything.
If it's all there, you can't behit with those sniper rounds,
okay.
You can't be hit with thosesniper rounds, okay, you can't
behave with those sniper rounds.
Having full transparency in yourrelationship removes all
(37:36):
jealousy, removes allinsecurities Like I can't
believe.
I still talk to people nowadayswho's like you.
Let your wife see your phone,I'm like.
Well, I can look at my phoneanytime she wants.
In fact, she often uses myphone instead of her phone and
I'll do the same.
What do you have if you can'tdo that?
(37:58):
A rifle zero drifts ifneglected.
A zero is basically confirmingwhat you're aiming at.
You're hitting it, the rifle'ssights are dialed in and it'll
drift if being banged around andso on and so forth.
(38:19):
Springs loosening, so does aman's soul.
We should re-zero weekly, livewhat you preach.
1 Timothy, 3, 4, and 5.
(38:43):
An overseer must be one whomanages his household well, for
if a man does not know how tomanage his own household, how
will he take care of the churchof God?
So many men want to leadministries and lead things and
their families are absolutelydestroyed and they have no
business doing it.
As a dad, as a man, you shouldbe leading in any situation you
(39:14):
can.
If you're leading with someoneand say your dad is a train
wreck and you're not guess whoshould be leading there, you
should be leading him to God andto a better place.
All right, as fathers, we haveto lead ourselves first, like we
(39:40):
have to walk the walk and talkthe talk and show our kids the
way.
So the difference between acredible dad and a counterfeit
dad Speech A credible dadblesses and builds up.
A counterfeit dad uses sarcasmand rage Time.
(40:03):
A credible dad is present andpurposeful.
A counterfeit dad is distractedand detached.
Conflict with a credible dadinitiates repentance.
Counterfeit dad excuses andblame shifts.
Service leads by example.
(40:25):
Counterfeit dad delegates anddisappears.
Service leads by example.
Counterfeit dad delegates anddisappears.
Kids can smell a fake like gunsmoke after a shot.
Hypocrisy detonates anddestroys trust.
(40:48):
Model repentance thecredibility multiplier.
1 John 1, 7-9.
If we walk in the light, as hehimself is in the light, we have
fellowship with one another Inthe blood of Jesus.
His son cleanses us from allsin.
If we confess our sins, he isfaithful and righteous to
(41:12):
forgive us our sins and cleanseus from all righteousness.
Your family learns how to failby watching you repent.
You're not always going to begood at everything.
You're not always going to makethe right decisions.
We call things bad decisions inthis house.
When the kids make baddecisions, we don't call them
bad.
They made a bad decision.
I make bad decisions.
(41:35):
Lauren makes bad decisions.
We all make bad decisions.
Owning them and repenting tothem is showing them how to
truly walk out this Christianlife.
Because what is this life ifit's not making bad decisions
and learning from them and doingbetter?
(41:59):
You have to be the repenter inchief in your house.
You have to ask for forgiveness.
You have to ask for forgiveness.
You have to confess your sinagainst them so they know and
they can forgive you.
Sunday night confession circle,you know.
(42:21):
Or pick a night during the week.
Pick a night during the week,if your Sundays are too full,
where you sit around and youlist your failures for the week
and you ask for forgiveness andyou can go right around the
circle and people can say whatthey did and then hate,
resentment, anger cannot get atoehold.
(42:46):
It can't get a foothold in yourfamily.
When you do this Again, you'renot always going to get it right
.
It is impossible to get itright.
I fail all the time, all thetime.
That's why I forgive everyone,because I need so much
forgiveness.
(43:11):
So we have to fight for ourfamilies or else we'll lose them
.
You know how many men I knowwho have lost kids for eternity.
When they're in heaven, theirkids are not going to be there
if they're occurring whilethey're there.
It's a very sad thing.
(43:32):
It's a very, very, very sadthing.
So, nehemiah 4.14, do not fearthem.
Remember Yahweh, who is greatand fearsome, and fight for your
brothers, your sons, yourdaughters, your wives and your
houses.
Dads, you must fight every day.
Your household is thebattlefield.
(43:56):
Your family are the casualties.
Fight for them.
Men of God, take your ordersfrom Christ, our warrior king.
Lead with honor.
Guard your homes.
Guard your homes.
Guard your families.
Forge a legacy that drives backthe darkness For Christ and his
covenant.
Advance.
So we're going to do HolyCommunion.
(44:16):
Do you guys have your?
It's over there?
1 Corinthians 11.28 says but aman must test himself, and in
doing so he is to eat of thebread and drink of the cup.
(44:38):
Before we partake, let usquietly bow for the King of
glory.
Let each man, woman and youngwarrior here search his or her
heart, confessing sin, layingdown burdens, preparing to eat
and drink in a manner worthy ofthe Lord.
Go ahead, take a moment.
All right, let us pray.
(45:30):
Almighty God, sovereign, lordand host, we approach your table
today not because we are worthy, but because Christ is worthy.
We come not trusting in our ownrighteousness, but clinging to
the righteousness of JesusChrist alone.
We remember his broken body, his blood poured out for the new
covenant.
We bow in humble gratitude, welift our hearts in reverent awe.
(45:52):
Sanctify this bread and thiscup and sanctify us, your people
, as we proclaim the death, resurrection and coming kingdom
of our Lord Jesus.
We pray in his mighty andmatchless name Amen.
Look.
1 Corinthians 11, 23-24.
The Lord Jesus, in the night inwhich he was betrayed, took
(46:13):
bread and when he had giventhanks, he broke it and said
this is my body, which is foryou.
Do this in remembrance of me,remember.
This symbolizes his body, pierced, beaten and sacrificed
for you.
Let us partake of the breadtogether in remembering Christ's
(46:36):
broken body for us.
Go ahead In the same way.
He took a cup also.
I have to stop for saying thiscup is a new covenant in my
blood.
Do this as often as you drink.
Drink it in remembrance of me.
This symbolizes his blood, theblood that purchased our
(46:59):
forgiveness and sealed theeverlasting covenant.
Let us partake of the cuptogether and remember Christ's
blood poured out for us.
Go ahead and drink, for asoften as you eat this bread and
drink the cup, you proclaim thedeath of the Lord until he comes
(47:21):
.
By eating and drinking, wepublicly proclaim Christ has
died, christ has risen.
Christ will come again.
We are soldiers in hiseverlasting kingdom.
Go ahead and let's pray.
Lord Jesus, true shepherd andmighty warrior, keep us alert to
the wolves, humble under yourhand, bold in your gospel and
(47:44):
joyful in your promise, rescuethe wandering, fortify the
faithful and hasten the day whenevery false flag is torn down
and every knee bows to you.
I pray that God will bless andprotect this fellowship, the
persecuted church around theworld, our troops overseas, our
first responders at home and ourveterans of yesteryear.
I pray that the Lord will blessand protect our leaders.
(48:07):
Lastly, I pray for my belovedcountry, the United States of
America.
I pray that America wouldhumble herself, turn from her
sin, hit her knees, repent ofher sins and seek your face,
lord.
I pray that you would see herand heal her so that we could
once again be one nation underGod, indivisible, with liberty
(48:30):
and justice for all.
I call for this fellowship tostand and put on the full armor
of God, strap on the shield offaith, pick up the sword of the
Spirit and walk boldly to jointhe shield wall, locking shields
to the right and to the left,as we march always forward,
taking ground for your kingdomand glory forever.
Amen, god bless you and I'llsee you in two weeks.
