The resurrection of Jesus Christ stands as the hinge-point of human history—the moment when death's grip was broken and a new creation dawned. This Easter sermon explores the profound implications of Christ's empty tomb through three powerful movements: Victory Secured, Dominion Declared, and The March Begins.

When we examine ancient prophecies like Isaiah 53 and Psalm 22, we discover God's redemptive plan was no afterthought. Seven centuries before Calvary, Isaiah described with uncanny precision how the Messiah would bear our griefs, carry our sorrows, and be pierced for our transgressions. King David's prophetic words in Psalm 22 captured not only Christ's suffering ("they pierced my hands and feet") but also His ultimate triumph ("all the ends of the earth will remember and turn to Yahweh"). What appeared to be defeat at the cross was actually history's greatest victory—the serpent's head crushed even as he bruised the heel of our Savior.

Following His resurrection, Jesus made an earth-shattering declaration: "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me." This wasn't empty rhetoric but the fulfillment of Daniel's vision of the Son of Man receiving an everlasting dominion. The risen Christ now rules as King over every sphere of existence—the individual heart, the family, the church, and the nations. Nothing falls outside His jurisdiction. From this absolute authority flows our Great Commission mandate to disciple all nations, teaching them to observe everything Christ commanded.

What does this mean for us today? We're not spectators but participants in the advancing kingdom. Christian men are called to discipleship leadership in their homes and communities. Women serve as powerful kingdom agents through nurturing, teaching, and hospitality. Families function as outposts of Christ's light in a darkened world. The church trains warriors who engage culture with truth and grace rather than retreating from it.

.
We exalt you, o God, for deathcannot hold your son.
May Christ Jesus receive allglory in our worship In his
mighty name, we pray amen.

(02:33):
This is a three-part sermon,okay.
Part one victory secured.
We begin with the foundationsof our faith the cross and the
empty tomb.
In this first part, we will seehow Jesus secured victory over

(02:53):
sin and death through hissuffering, crucifixion and
resurrection.
Our warrior king won the war atCalvary and by rising on the
third day Calvary and by risingon the third day.
Let's deeply examine thescriptures that foretold of this
record and recorded thistriumph.
The suffering servant foretoldIsaiah 53.

(03:14):
Isaiah, the prophet Isaiah, 700years before Christ, described
the Messiah's suffering and itspurpose.
Hear the word of God.
Now I want you to picture howmany times you've heard Easter,
how many times you've watchedthe Passion of Christ or any
other Christian film thatdepicts the suffering of Christ

(03:37):
and all these things, andpicture those.
As I am reading this word 700years before it happened, as I
am reading this word 700 yearsbefore it happened, who has
believed our report and to whomhas the arm of Yahweh been
revealed?
For he grew up before him likea tender shoot and like a root

(03:58):
out of parched ground.
He has no stately form ofmajesty that we should look upon
him, nor appearance that weshould desire him meaning.
He was humble and meek.
He was despised and forsaken ofmen, a man of sorrows and
acquainted with grief, and likeone from whom men hide their

(04:21):
face.
He was despised and we did notesteem him.
Surely, our griefs he himselfbore and our sorrows he carried.
Yet we ourselves esteemed him, stricken, smitten of God and
afflicted.
But he was pierced through forour transgressions.

(04:41):
He was crushed for ourinequities, the chastening of
our peace fell upon him, and byhis wounds we are healed.
My TV here just turned off.
We ourselves esteemed andstricken, smitten of God and

(05:04):
afflicted.
But he was pierced through.
I love being a one-man show.
It is the best thing ever.
Let me tell you, if you want tobe a pastor and run all the
tech by yourself, while you'redoing it you are going to learn
humility, my friends, and you'regoing to have to show patience
in front of countless untoldpeople, no matter what words

(05:29):
echo in here.
You've got to project calm andpeace.
Yes, thank you.
Let me get back to the word ofGod now.
Thank you, but he was piercedthrough and was crushed for our
iniquities.
The chastening for our peacefell upon him, and by his wounds

(05:51):
we are healed.
All of us, like sheep, havegone astray.
Each of us has turned to hisown way, but Yahweh has caused
the iniquities of us all to fallon him.
He was oppressed, he wasafflicted, yet he did not open
his mouth, like a lamb that isled to slaughter and like a

(06:13):
sheep that is silent before itsshearers.
So he did not open his mouth.
By oppression and judgment, hewas taken away.
And as for his generation, whoconsidered that he was cut off
out of the land of the living, that the transgression of my
people striking was due to him.

(06:33):
So his grave was assigned withwicked men.
Yet he was with a rich man inhis death.
Now I can unpack those twospecifically.
But if you think he was with arich man in his death, now I can
unpack those two specifically.
But if you think he wascrucified with two traitors, two
thieves, two politicalterrorists, whatever you want to
call them, and then he wasburied in a rich man's tomb,

(06:58):
right that was donated Becausehe had done no violence, nor was
there any deceit in his mouth, but Yahweh was pleased to crush
him, putting him to grief.
If you should place his soul asa guilt offering, he will see

(07:19):
his seed, he will prolong hisdays and the good pleasure of
Yahweh will succeed in his handas a result of the anguish of
his soul.
He will see it and be satisfiedby his knowledge of the
righteous one, my servant, willjustify the many as he will bear
their iniquities.
Therefore, I will divide forhim a portion with the many and

(07:43):
he will divide the spoil withthe strong, because he poured
out his soul to death and wasnumbered with the transgressors.
Yet he himself bore the sin ofmany and interceded for the
transgressors.
Isaiah foretells a sufferingservant who would bear the sins
of his people.
Every line we just read pointsto Jesus.

(08:04):
He was despised and forsaken.
A man of his people.
Every line we just read pointsof Jesus.
He was despised and forsaken.
A man of sorrows, he bore ourgriefs and carried out sorrows
on the cross.
He was pierced for ourtransgressions, literally nailed
and speared, crushed for ouriniquities by the wrath of God.
This is the language ofsubstitution and sacrifice.
Our warrior king securedvictory by not avoiding

(08:25):
suffering but entering into itfully on our behalf.
Notice the end of the passage.
After his soul's anguish, hewill see his seed, his will,
prolong his days.
He will prolong his days Areference to resurrection, life.
God promises that his sufferingone, though he dies, will live

(08:49):
again and see his offspring, thepeople redeemed by his works.
The text even says he willdivide the spoils with the
strong.
That's victory language.
After the battle, the conquerorshares the spoils.
Jesus, through the agony of thecross, won the spoils of
salvation and eternal life forus.

(09:09):
Charles Spurgeon joyfully noted, the silver thread of
resurrection runs through allbelievers' blessings, from his
regeneration onward to hiseternal glory, binds them
together.
In other words, christ's deathand resurrection secure every
blessing we have.
The victory was not partial, itwas complete.

(09:29):
Isaiah 53 ends with triumph Sinborn, intercession made,
victory secured.
Now let's go to one of the mostmisunderstood portions of the
Bible.
The Rolling Stones even wroteabout this the cry of victory on

(09:54):
the cross, psalm 22.
Even King David, centuriesearly, prophesied the Messiah's
suffering, an ultimate triumph,in Psalm 22.
Jesus himself would quote thispsalm while on the cross.
Let's hear portions of it Again.
Picture this my God, my God, whyhave you forsaken me?

(10:14):
Far from my salvation are thewords of my groaning.
Oh, my God, I call by day, butyou do not disappointed.
But I am a worm and not a man,a reproach of men and despised

(10:46):
by the people.
All who see me mock me.
They smack their lip, they wagtheir heads saying commit
yourself to Yahweh.
Let him rescue him, let himdeliver him because he delights
in him.
I am poured out like water andall of my bones are out of joint
.
My heart is like wax.

(11:08):
It is melted within me.
My strength is dried up like apot sherd my tongue, cleaves to
my jaw and you lay me in thedust of death.
For dogs have surrounded me, aband of evildoers has
encompassed me.
They pierced my hands and myfeet.
I count all my bones.
They look, they stare at me,they divide my garments among

(11:33):
them and for my clothing theycast lots.
But you, o Yahweh, be not faroff.
O my strength.
Hasten to my help.
You have answered me.
I will surely recount.
Hasten to my help.
You have answered me.
I will surely recount your nameto my brothers.
In the midst of the assembly, Iwill praise you, you who fear
Yahweh.

(11:53):
Praise him All you see of Jacob, glorify him and stand in awe
of him, all you see of Israel.
For he has not despised norabandoned the affliction of the
afflicted and he has not hiddenhis face from him.
But when he cried to him forhelp, he heard.
O you, in my praise and thegreat assembly, I shall pay my

(12:18):
vows before those who fear him.
The afflicted will eat and besatisfied.
Those seek him will praiseyahweh.
May your heart live forever.
All the ends of the earth willremember and turn to yahweh.
Now, this is important andwe'll break this down later.
All the ends of the earth willremember and turn to yahweh, and
the families of nations willworship before you, for the

(12:40):
kingdom is yahweh's and he rulesover nations.
All the prosperous of earthwill eat and worship.
All those who go down to thedust will bow before him, even
he who cannot keep his soulalive.
Their seed will serve him.
It will be recounted about theLord to the coming generation.
They will come and be declaredhis righteousness.

(13:00):
They will come and declare hisrighteousness To the people who
will be born, and that he hasdone it.
The psalm is astounding.
It begins with a cry my God, myGod, why have you forsaken me?
Everyone who doesn't know theBible thinks that that's God
asking the Father.
Why have you forsaken me?
Not knowing that he's quotingscripture that's hundreds of

(13:23):
years old.
At that point, any Israelitewould know that that is the
opening passage of Psalm 22 andthat everything below that is
what is about it.
That is what he's talking about, as the Roman soldiers are
dividing his clothes and castinglots before him.
They literally divided hisclothes and his belongings and
they were rolling dice, castinglots to see who had him and

(13:45):
pierced his hands and feet.
Everything there.
Oh yes, thank you, god.
So it begins with a cry my God,my God, why have you forsaken
me?
The very words Jesus shoutedfrom the cross Matthew 27, 46.

(14:08):
David describes in uncannydetail the crucifixion scene.
David describes in uncannydetail the crucifixion scene.
Mockers saying he trusts in God.
Let God rescue him.
We heard the chief priests saythat in Matthew's account.
Thirst and exhaustion, my clungcleaves to my jaw, the piercing

(14:33):
of hands and feet and thecasting of lots for clothing All
these were filled exactly whenJesus hung on the cross.
This shows that the cross wasGod's plan all along.
Our king knew what he had toendure to save us and he
willingly went to that cross.
But Psalm 22 does not end indefeat or despair.

(14:53):
Notice the turning point.
You have answered me Goddelivers.
Then the psalm shifts to praiseand global triumph.
All the ends of the earth willremember and turn to Yahweh, for
the kingdom is Yahweh and herules over the nations.
Hallelujah, because of thesuffering of Christ, the nations
of the world will come to knowGod.

(15:14):
The psalm even concludes theywill declare his righteousness
to a people yet unborn.
That he has done it.
The final phrase could berendered it is finished.
Does that sound familiar.
It echoes Jesus' last word onthe cross in John 19.30.
He has done it, the work iscompleted, the victory concerned

(15:37):
.
This is very interesting for acouple of reasons.
You know, we have the benefitof looking back through time now
.
But here is the religion of oneof the most pathetic nations to
ever exist, israel.
God chose them because theywere the weakest and they were
the smallest, not because theywere some great empire, and the
religion of that group becomesthe largest religion in the

(15:59):
world.
Okay, you need to stop talking, yeah, yeah.
Yeah, you need to stop talkingor you need to go away, okay,
thank you.
So both Isaiah 53 and Psalm 22,we see this pattern Intense
suffering, then vindication andvictory.

(16:20):
Jesus fulfilled these propheciesto the letter On Good Friday at
Calvary.
Our Lord secured victory.
He satisfied the justice of Godfor our sins, disarmed the
spiritual powers of darkness andopened the way for all people
to be saved.
The ancient, or sorry, johnChrysostom expressed it in a

(16:42):
flourishing triumph Christ isrisen.
O you, o death are annihilated.
Christ is risen.
The evil ones are cast down.
Christ is risen and all life isliberated.
In Christ's death andresurrection, death itself was
defeated and life triumphed.
It is finished the crucifixionaccount in Matthew 27.

(17:05):
Now let's turn to the NewTestament record of these events
.
We will walk through Matthew'sgospel account of the
crucifixion, where we will seeprophecy become history.
And as they were coming out, they found a man of Cyrene named
Simon, whom they pressed intoservice to bear his cross.

(17:27):
And when they came to a placecalled Golgotha, which means
place of the skull, they gavehim wine mixed with gall and
after tasting it he wasunwilling to drink.
And when they had crucified him, they divided up his garments
among themselves by casting lotsand sitting down.
They began to keep watch overhim there and above his head

(17:50):
they put the charge up againsthim which reads this is Jesus,
the King of the Jews.
At that time, two robbers werecrucified with him, one on the
right and one on the left, andthose passing were blaspheming
him, shaking their heads andsaying you, who are going to
destroy the sanctuary andrebuild it in three days, save

(18:11):
yourself.
If you are the son of God, comedown from the cross.
In the same way, the chiefpriests also, along with the
scribes and elders, were mockinghim, saying he saves others.
He cannot save himself.
He is the king of Israel.
Let him come down from thecross and we will believe in him
.
He trusts in god.
Let god rescue him now if hedelights in him.

(18:32):
For he said I am the son of god.
And the robbers who have beencrucified with him were also
insulting him with the samewords.
Now, from the sixth hour, darkness fell upon the land
until the ninth hour Three hoursof darkness during the day.
And about the ninth hour Jesuscried out with a large voice

(18:52):
saying my God, my God, why haveyou forsaken me?
And some of those who werestanding there when they heard
it began saying this man iscalling for Elijah.
And immediately one of them rantaking a sponge he filled with
sour, with sour wine, put it ona reed and gave him a drink.
But the rest of them weresaying let us see whether Elijah
will come to save him.

(19:13):
And Jesus cried out again witha loud voice and yielded up his
spirit.
And behold, the veil of thesanctuary was torn from top to
bottom.
It's important, I'll talk aboutthat after.
And the earth shook and therocks were split and the tombs
were opened and many bodies ofthe saints who had fallen asleep
dead were raised, coming out ofthe tombs.

(19:36):
After his resurrection, theyentered the holy city and
appeared to many.
Now the centurion and those whowere keeping guard over Jesus,
when they saw the earthquake andthe things that were happening,
became very frightened and saidtruly, this was God's son, this
is holy ground we're treadingin scripture.
Let's unpack some key moments.
First, on his way to Golgotha, jesus was so physically weakened

(20:01):
from torture that Simon ofCyrene was pressed into carrying
his crossbeam.
This is God in the flesh.
Okay, almighty Christ, who isGod's son, has infinite power.
God in the flesh.
He chose to be drained ofstrength as a man for us.
He could have called on angelsto help, he could have done

(20:25):
anything he wanted, but insteadhe embraced weakness that we
might be made strong.
At Golgotha, they offered himwine mixed with gall, a bitter
drink like a mild anesthetic, but Jesus refused anything that
would numb his senses.
He would drink the cup ofsuffering to the full.
Wide awake to atone for us, thesoldiers crucified and gambled

(20:48):
for his clothes.
Matthew records this matter offactly.
But think, the Son of God wasnailed to a tree and in that
very act of prophecy of Psalm 22, 18 came true.
They divided my garments amongthem and cast lots from my
clothing.
22, 18 came true.
They divided my garments amongthem and cast lots for my
clothing.
Meanwhile, the charge above hishead reads jesus of nazareth.

(21:08):
Nazareth, the king of jews.
The powers of the world meant itas mockery, but in god's
providence, proclaim the truth.
Jesus is king, even as hesuffers.
The bystanders and religiousleaders hurl insults that are
loaded with irony.
They mock he saves others.

(21:30):
He cannot save himself.
In fact, it was by not savinghimself that he was saving
others.
They called him king of Israelin scorned, not realizing he
truly is the king, not just ofIsrael, but of all nations.
They shall let him come downfrom the cross and we will

(21:53):
believe.
Thank God Jesus didn't comedown because by staying on that
cross he secured the only basisfor saving faith.
Sometimes victory doesn't looklike the world expects.
In this case, victory lookedlike a man dying on a cross for
the sake of his enemies.
Our Lord's power was perfectedin weakness at that moment.

(22:17):
Then, from noon to three, darkness covered the land.
Creation itself signaled theway to this event.
The light of the world wasbeing extinguished, or so it
appeared.
In that darkness, jesus criedout the words of Psalm 22.1, my
God, my God, why have youforsaken me?
Here we glimpse a profoundmystery of the Son experiencing

(22:40):
the abandonment that our sinsdeserved.
Jesus drained the cup of God'swrath so that we, god's people,
will never have to knowforsakenness by God.
He was forsaken for a moment onthe cross so you and I could be
accepted forever.
Finally, after fulfilling everyprophecy and knowing all that
was accomplished, jesus shoutedand yielded up his spirit.

(23:03):
John's gospel tells us hisshout was it is finished the
victory cry of our champion atthe moment.
At that very moment, matthewnotes, the temple veil was torn
from top to bottom.
That massive curtain, for ageshad symbolized separation
between the holy of holies, holyGod and sinful men, was ripped

(23:24):
open.
God himself tore it from top tobottom Through Jesus' broken
body.
The new living way into God'spresence was open.
No more would an earthly highpriest have to offer animal
blood year after year.
Christ, our great high priest, had offered himself once and for
all.
The way to the throne of graceis now open wide to all who come

(23:47):
through him.
The earth shook and rocks split.
Even the earth was respondingto the death of its creator.
Tombs broke open and somesaints were raised to life as a
foretaste of resurrection.
It's as if death's grip wasalready slipping in the presence
of Jesus' victorious death.
The centurion and soldiersguarding Jesus saw these wonders

(24:10):
and were terrified.
Hardened Roman soldiers foundthemselves exclaiming this truly
was God's Son.
Even in his dying, jesus wasconquering hearts, the first
fruits of a great harvest tocome.
Brothers and sisters, jesussecured the victory on the cross
.
He paid in full the penalty ofour sins.
He satisfied divine justice anddefeated the devil.

(24:33):
Who can no longer accuse ussuccessfully?
Colossians 2.15 says thatChrist, having disarmed the
rulers and authorities, made apublic display of them
triumphing over them by thecross.
What looked like defeat for anitinerant preacher from Nazareth

(24:54):
was actually a cosmic D-Day ofGod's plan.
The serpent's head was crushedGenesis 3.15,.
Even as the serpent bruised hisheel.
Charles Spurgeon put it this waythe whole system of
Christianity rests upon the factthat Christ is risen from the
dead.
For if Christ is not risen, then is our preaching vain and

(25:17):
your faith is also vain.
But indeed he is risen and nowthe silver thread of
resurrection runs through all ofour blessings.
We can never overstate theimportance of this victory.
Jesus' death and resurrectionare the hinge of history.
Our sins are forgiven.
Our greatest enemies have beenvanquished.

(25:38):
John Calvin wrote of the crossand resurrection.
We divide the substance of oursalvation between Christ's death
and resurrection as followsThrough his death, sin was wiped
out and death extinguished.
Through his resurrection, rightfulness was restored and
life raised up.
Do we grasp that At Calvary, christ wiped out our sin debt?

(26:01):
On Easter morning he rose toapply new life and righteousness
to us.
Victory secured.
The empty tomb is God's proofthat Christ's sacrifice was
accepted in the war won.
Now, before we move on to thenext part, consider this victory
means to you personally.

(26:22):
Sin no longer has a right torule you.
Death no longer has a right torule you.
Death no longer has the finalsay over you.
If you are in Christ, you standon the side of the victor.
We are not fighting for victoryover sin.
We are fighting from thevictory Christ already achieved.
This gives us confidence tostrive for holiness and courage

(26:45):
in spiritual warfare.
Lauren, if you're hearing me, ifI can get a refill of drink,
that'd be great.
If you're not, that's okay.
Discipline drill.
Examine your life this week inlight of christ's victory.
Identify one area of persistentsin or fear.

(27:09):
Remind yourself that jesus diedto break that sin's power and
rose to empower you by the holyspirit.
Resolve to battle that sin as adefeated foe.
For example, if anger or lustor bitterness plagues, you,
declare boldly in prayer Christhas set me free from your
dominion.
Then take concrete steps ofobedience, knowing that victory

(27:33):
is secured.
Try memorizing Romans 6.14.
Every day preach to yourself Iam alive from the dead.
With Christ, I will not returnto the grave clothes of sin.
Having seen our Lord secure thevictory through the cross, let's
now move on to part two, wherewe behold Christ, the risen

(27:55):
Christ, and hear his royaldeclaration of domination, of
dominion.
Dominion, sorry.
Dominion declared the king hastriumphed.
Now he takes his throne.
In this part we focus on theresurrection and ascension of
Jesus as the moment his dominion, his kingly authority is

(28:16):
declared over all creation.
The war is won.
Now the rightful king stakeshis claim.
We'll see that Jesus receivesall authority in heaven and on
earth, fulfilling ancientprophecies, and we will hear his
marching orders that flow fromthat authority.
He is risen, the kingtriumphant.
Matthew 28, 1 through 10.

(28:37):
Resurrection morning changedeverything.
Let's read Matthew's account ofthe empty tomb and the risen
Christ appearing to the women.
Let's read Matthew's account ofthe empty tomb and the risen
Christ appearing to the women.
Now, after the Sabbath, as itbegan to dawn toward the first
day of the week, mary Magdaleneand the other Mary came to look
at the grave.
And behold, there was a greatearthquake where an angel of the
Lord descended from heaven andcame and rolled away the stone

(28:59):
and sat upon it and hisappearance was like lightning
and his clothing was white assnow and the guards quaked from
fear of him and became like deadmen.
And the angel answered and saidto the women Do not be afraid,
for I know that you are lookingfor Jesus who has been crucified
.
He is not here, for he hasrisen.

(29:20):
Just as he said, come see theplace where he was lying and go
quickly and tell his disciplesthat he has risen from the dead.
And behold, he is going aheadof you to Galilee.
There you will see him.
And behold, I have told you.
And they left the tomb quicklywith fear and great joy, and ran
to report to his disciples.

(29:41):
And behold, jesus met them andsaid Greetings.
And they came and took hold ofhis feet and worshipped him.
Notice that they came and tookhold of his feet.
Then Jesus said to them Do notbe afraid, go and report to my
brothers to leave for Galilee.
And there they will see me.
Imagine that morning dawn'slight creeping in an earthquake,

(30:03):
an angel blazing like lightning, rolling away the stone.
Not to let Jesus out, for Jesuswas already gone, but to let
the witnesses in the Romanguards.
Battalion soldiers shook andfainted in fear.
The angel speaks the gloriouswords.
He is not here.

(30:24):
Here, for he has risen, just ashe said.
That is the turning point ofhistory.
Right there, jesus kept hispromise.
Death could not hold him Upfrom the grave.
He arose as a mighty victorover the dark domain.
The angel commissions the womenas the first messengers of the
resurrection.
Go quickly and tell hisdisciples, and on their way,

(30:47):
jesus himself meets them.
Can you imagine their emotion, fear and great joy mixed,
suddenly seeing the Lord alivestanding before them?
They grasp his feet.
This is no ghost orhallucination.
They have physical hold of himand they worshiped.
The appropriate response to therisen Christ is to worship at

(31:08):
his feet, for he is God and heis king.
Jesus' first words to them wereso tender Greetings, followed
by do not be afraid, our king iscompassionate.
He knows they are overwhelmed.
He gives them reassurance andrepeats instructions Go tell my
brothers to meet me in galilee.
Note that he calls thedisciples my brothers, despite

(31:30):
their having fled and failed.
Okay, so I've been told that mycamera's froze.
I got a new computer, a newsystem.
I apologize if you guys can'tsee me, but there's probably
some setting I have to figureout and I apologize, I'm going

(31:53):
to continue on.
He speaks for them with graceand warmth.
The resurrection was not for himalone.
It was bringing many sons anddaughters to life and to his
family.
So in rising, jesus provedeverything.
Jesus proved everything he saidabout himself.
He is the son of God with power.

(32:13):
The resurrection vindicated hisclaim to be the Messiah and
king.
He also demonstrated that hissacrifice for sin was accepted,
the debt is paid and new lifenow flows to his people, the
Messiah and King.
He also demonstrated that hissacrifice for sin was accepted,
the debt is paid and new lifenow flows to his people.
He has risen, just as he said.
Remember, jesus had repeatedlytold his disciples he would
suffer, be killed and on thethird day rise.

(32:34):
Matthew 16, 21, 17, 23, etc.
He is utterly faithful to hisword.
Think of the dominionimplications of the resurrection
.
This isn't just a man comingback to life, this is the author
of life conquering the grave.
Jesus emerged not only alivebut glorified, beyond the reach

(32:54):
of death.
Romans 6.9 tells us Christ, having been raised from the dead
, is never to die again.
Death no longer is master overhim.
He broke the power of the lastenemy, which is death.
In Revelation 1.18, jesus says Iwas dead and behold, I am alive
forevermore and I have the keysto death in Hades.

(33:15):
Keys represent authority.
Jesus now holds the keys todeath itself.
He is the Lord of life anddeath.
No wonder that the earliestpreaching of the apostles, the
resurrection, was front andcenter.
Peter, on Pentecost, declaredthat God raised Jesus and
exalted him to the right hand.
The empty tomb means a filledthrone.

(33:37):
Jesus is not just alive, hereigns.
And before we look at the formaldeclaration of his authority,
let's remember an importantprophecy that comes into play
here.
The prophet Daniel, centuriesbefore Christ, saw a vision of
the Son of man receivingdominion.
Daniel 7, 13 through 14.

(33:58):
I kept looking in the nightvisions and behold, with the
clouds of heaven, one like theSon of man was coming and he
came up to the Ancient of Daysand was presented before him,
and to him was given dominion, glory and kingdom that all the
peoples, nations and men ofevery language might serve him.
His dominion is an everlastingdominion which will not be taken

(34:20):
away, and his kingdom is whichwill not be taken away, and his
kingdom is one which will not bedestroyed.
This prophecy depicts theheavenly coronation of the
Messiah After his suffering.
Daniel earlier in Daniel 7, thebeast representing the evil
kingdom's rage, one like a sonof man, comes on the clouds to
God, the Ancient of Days, and isgiven universal and eternal

(34:41):
dominion.
The term son of man comes onthe clouds to God, the Ancient
of Days, and is given universaland eternal dominion.
The term son of man was Jesus'favorite designation for himself
and this scene is what he hadin mind when Jesus comes to the
Ancient of Days in the clouds.
Heavenly Father, not at hisbirth and not during his early
ministry.
This happened at his ascensionafter the resurrection.

(35:02):
Forty days after rising, jesusascended into the clouds and
entered the heavenly throne roomto be crowned.
Daniel saw from heaven'sperspective what the disciples
witnessed from earth.
The risen Christ ascended anddominion was bestowed upon him
in his mediatorial role asGod-man and dominion was
bestowed upon him in hismediatorial role as God-man.

(35:22):
Thus, the resurrection andascension of Christ are Christ's
coronation day.
He had inherent authority asGod's son, of course, but now,
as the God-man, the crucifiedand risen Redeemer, he is
exalted and enthroned as King ofKings.
All authority is handed to theone who conquered sin and death.

(35:44):
This leads us to the GreatCommission text, where the risen
Christ explicitly declares hisdominion on earth All authority
in heaven and on earth.
The Great Commission in Matthew28, 16 through 20.
The disciples obeyed Jesus'instruction to go to Galilee.
Let's read what happened.
But the 11 disciples proceededto Galilee, to the mountain

(36:07):
which Jesus had designated, andwhen they saw him, they
worshiped him.
But some doubted, and Jesuscame up and spoke to them,
saying All authority has beengiven to me in heaven and on
earth.
Go, therefore, and makedisciples of all nations,
baptizing them in the name ofthe Father and the Son and the
Holy Spirit.
This passage is loaded and iscentral to our mission.

(36:37):
Notice first, the disciples seethe risen Jesus and their
response is worship, as itshould be, Though Matthew
candidly notes but some doubtedin verse 17.
They are a bit staggered.
It's not that they disbelievenow, but they are hesitant,
still processing this incrediblereality.
Jesus doesn't rebuke them here.

(36:59):
Instead, he assures them with abold proclamation All authority
has been given to me in heavenand on earth.
This is dominion declared.
Our Lord announced his cosmickingship.
The phrase has been givenreflects Daniel 7 being
fulfilled, the ancient of daysgiving him dominion.
It's also echoing language ofplaces like Psalm 2.8, where God

(37:23):
says to his Messiah ask of meand I will surely give the
nations as your inheritance, theends of the earth as your
possession.
Jesus is now asserting thatthis has happened.
He has triumphed and now holdsroyal authority over everything
in heaven and everything onearth, nothing excluded.
This is really important.
When you start looking ateschatology, you know the

(37:48):
screams post-mill.
Consider the scope allauthority, not some or most.
All Over angels, over stars, over kings, over nations, over
nature and history, and everymolecule and every moment.
Jesus reigns supreme.
So you hear all these pre-millguys out there talking about the

(38:11):
devil reigns.
The devil's doing this, thedevil's doing that.
It's not the Bible says.
Abraham Kuyper famously saidthere is not one square inch in
the whole domain of our humanexistence over which christ, who
is sovereign over all, does notdeclare mine, does not cry mine
.
He wants it all.
That is what all authoritymeans.

(38:34):
The dominion adam lost throughsin.
Jesus the second adam hasregained, more, regained and
more.
He is the Lord of heaven andearth right now.
This is post-resurrection,present reality, church.
Do we live like?
This is true To all of usChristians?

(38:55):
Act as if Jesus' authority isonly in the future, when he
returns, or only spiritual inour hearts or in heaven.
But Jesus said it plainly Rightnow, in this age, he has all
authority, on earth as well asin heaven.
We must not buy the lie thatSatan or secular powers have

(39:16):
real say right now and Jesuswill only rule later.
No, jesus rules today.
He is actively subduing hisenemies, as RC Sproul succinctly
noted.
By his life, death andresurrection, our Savior has
conquered our enemies and by hisspirit he has granted us to
share in the victory.
Christ is reigning and we sharein that reign by his spirit.

(39:48):
Too often we look at ourpolitical situation or the state
of what's going on in Americaas the measuring standard of
what's going on in the world.
Here is the truth A smallamount of knuckleheads.
12, started Christianity.
They were the first 12,.
Right Now there are billions.
Are we really losing, like thepre-millennials say?

(40:08):
The answer is no.
What does Christ's presentdominion imply?
It means no sphere of life isoutside his jurisdiction.
He is Lord over the individual, lord over the family, lord over
the family, lord over thechurch and Lord over the nations
, including governments, culture, education, businesses, all of

(40:29):
it.
The resurrection was hisenthronement as king.
Ephesians 1.20-1.22 says, seated him at his right hand in
the heavenly places, far aboveall rule and authority and power
and dominion, and he put allthings in subjection under his
feet and gave him as head overall things to the church.

(40:52):
Jesus today is head over allthings for the sake of his
church.
That means Christian.
There is no situation you facewhere Jesus is not king.
There is no rival authoritythat can override him.
Now Jesus, upon declaring histotal authority, immediately
commands his followers go,therefore, and make disciples of

(41:14):
all nations.
Notice that, therefore, becausehe has all authority, we must
go.
The universal lordship ofChrist is the foundation for the
church's missionary mandate.
If Jesus were not the rightfulking of all peoples, we would
have no right to go into allnations and call them to submit
to him.
But since he is.
We have not only the right butthe obligation to proclaim him

(41:37):
everywhere.
This is the Great Commission.
Our marching order is straightfrom the commander.
Let's break it down briefly.
The mission make disciples ofall nation.
A disciple is a learner, afollower, an inherent, and we
are to turn rebels intofollowers of Jesus through the
gospel.
Not just converts, butdisciples, lifelong students and

(41:58):
servants of Christ, and notjust in some places or one
ethnic group, but all nations, the Greek word ethne meaning all
people, groups, every culture, language and tribe.
The king claims every nation ashis own.
Remember Psalm 2, ask of me andI will give you the nations as
your inheritance.
Here King Jesus is sending usout to collect his inheritance.

(42:22):
This is dominion declared andapplied.
The whole earth must come underChrist's gracious rule.
This means baptizing them inthe name of the Father and the
Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to keep all that I
have commanded you.
We make disciples by evangelism.
We make disciples by evangelismsymbolized in baptism and
education, teaching obedience.

(42:44):
Baptism is the public sign ofrepentance and faith, of being
united with Christ.
It's essentially enlisting inthe king's army and swearing
allegiance to the triune God Tobaptize in the name of the
Father, son and the Holy Spiritindicates bringing people into
covenant with the one true Godidentified as Trinity.

(43:04):
Then we don't leave the newdisciples untaught.
We teach them to observeeverything Jesus commanded, not
suggestions, not maybes commands.
The king wants obedient nations.
This includes personal ethics, yes, but also living out
Christ's teaching in community,in family life, in vocation,

(43:26):
every area.
Our curriculum is all that Icommanded.
We are not free to pick andchoose.
Christian discipleship iscomprehensive.
And notice Jesus is not tellingthe original apostles to teach.
By extension, those theydisciple must also teach the
next generation, and so on.
This commission perpetuatesuntil the end of the age verse

(43:49):
20, which hasn't come yet.
So this task remains our task.
We sit here today becauseprevious generations obeyed this
commission and brought thegospel across oceans and
continents, and now it's ourturn to carry the banner forward
, the motivation and comfort.
And behold, I am with youalways, even to the end of the

(44:12):
age.
Praise God, our king does notsend us alone.
He promises his perpetualpresence With us through the
Holy Spirit.
The captain of our salvationmarches with his troops.
That means we have supernaturalcourage available.
When you're out there sharingChrist or standing for truth in
a hostile environment.

(44:32):
Remember, jesus is with meright now.
The sovereign risen Lord is atmy side.
Whom shall I fear?
The presence of Christ is thepower that makes the Great
Commission doable.
Without him we can do nothing.
With him, all things arepossible.
So Christ has declared dominionand given us our mission orders
.
Before we dive more into ourpart in part three, let's

(44:54):
reflect on the dominion meansfor us now in our various roles.
If all authority belongs toJesus, then our lives must be
brought under his authority inevery respect.
Abraham Kuyper's quote remindsus there is no neutral ground.
Every facet of life must bow toKing Jesus.
For individual Christians, jesus is the Lord of your heart
and mind.
That means your belief.

(45:15):
All choices, use of time, money, all should honor Christ's rule
.
We are not alone.
We were bought with a price andChrist is our master.
Are there rooms in your lifewhere you've kept the door
closed to Christ's authority?
Perhaps you conduct yourbusiness, or your entertainment,

(45:35):
or certain relationships?
He claims lordship over all ofit.
The resurrection is the call tosurrender fully and joyfully,
because serving a living king isfar better than being enslaved
to dead idols of self.
For families, jesus is lord ofour homes, husbands.
He is the head over you and youlead your wife and children

(45:57):
Wives.
He is your chief bridegroomwhom you honor in the way you
support your husband, parents.
Parenting aims should be drivenby Christ's dominion, raising
kingdom warriors, not worldlysuccess stories.
As a family unit, your home isa little outpost of Christ's
kingdom.
The atmosphere, the habits, like prayer, bible reading,
worship, the way conflict isresolved, the priorities, all

(46:20):
should reflect that Jesus reignshere.
We are called to exercisedominion under Christ in our
household, ordering our familylife according to scripture,
serving God together, welcomingothers with hospitality, as an
embassy of Christ's love For thechurch, obviously, jesus is the
head of the church.
This means the church mustalways bow to his word as

(46:43):
supreme.
We don't take our cues fromsecular culture, from popular
opinion.
We march to Christ's commands.
The mission of our church tomake disciples in all nations is
not optional.
We must orient everything we dotowards fulfillment.
That great commission.
Worship, fellowship, teaching, mercy, ministries all contribute

(47:04):
to discipling the nations.
Also, as a local congregationcommitted to discipleship and
dominion, we need to thinkbeyond our walls.
How can we influence ourcommunity for Christ's crowns
rights?
How can we support the gospelspreading to unreached people.
We exist not just for ourselves, but as a base for a kingdom

(47:25):
advance For society.
This is where some get nervous, but it naturally follows.
If Jesus is the Lord of all, then government and society fall
under his authority.
While the Great Commissionfocuses on making disciples,

(47:48):
which changes society from theinside out, we also realize that
Christ's law is the standard ofrighteousness for any nation.
Psalm 2 warns the kings of theearth to kiss the sun lest he be
angry.
They are to submit to theMessiah.
This doesn't mean establish acoerced state church we're not
talking about forced religionbut it does mean Christian

(48:08):
influences should extend to law, civil justice, education, art,
etc.
Through the salt and light ofbelievers permeating these
fields.
When enough people in thenation follow Christ, it will
transform the culture to reflectgodly principles.
Jesus' dominion declaredcompels us to seek the lordship

(48:29):
of Christ over every sphere, inlove and truth, not by sword,
but by the word and spirit.
Think of it right now.
Jesus is king of kings.
He is actively ruling thenations, even those that do not
acknowledge him yet, steeringhistory toward the ultimate goal
.
The earth will be full of theknowledge of Yahweh as the

(48:51):
waters cover the sea.
What are you doing?
Okay, have a seat.
Okay, have a seat.
We are on the winning side ofhistory because the winner is on
the throne.
The post-millennial confidencethat the gospel will have

(49:13):
victory in history before Christreturns isn't human arrogance.
It's built on scriptures likewe've seen Daniel 7, 14,.
All peoples will serve him.
Psalm 22, 27,.
All ends of the earth will turnto the Lord.
Matthew 28,.
All nations discipled.

(49:36):
These are promises to energizeour mission.
We truly expect the GreatCommission to succeed by
Christ's power.
We're not a tiny, defeated bandhuddled until escape.
We're an ever-expanding armyclaiming territory for our king,
who already rules it by right.
John Christostom's Easter sermonincludes these lines we heard
Christ is risen and the evilones are cast down.

(49:58):
Christ is risen and life isliberated.
The evil ones are cast down.
Christ is risen and life isliberated.
Christ is risen and the tomb isemptied of its dead.
What a note of victory.
Evil is on notice.
Because Christ lives, newcreation has begun.
His current reign guaranteesthat the gates of hell shall not
prevail against his church.

(50:18):
Gates are defensive.
So that was Matthew 16.
Gates are defensive, meaningthat the church is on offense,
battering the strongholds ofSatan.
The church is batter-rammingthe gates of hell.
So Christian men, step up asleaders under Christ's supreme

(50:39):
authority.
Christian women, serve boldlyin confidence of Christ's reign.
Youth, submit your dreams toKing Jesus.
Aim to glorify him in yourcalling.
Whatever it is, we all can sayJesus is the Lord.
So I will not compromise withsin or the world's pressure.
I answer to a higher throneDiscipline drill.

(50:59):
Conduct a dominion inventory ofyour life this week.
Take time and prayer to gothrough each sphere of your life
Personal habits, familyroutines, work ethic,
friendships, civic engagement.
Reese ask is Jesus visibly Lordhere?
If someone observed this aspectof my life, would they see that
I operate under Christ'sauthority?
Identify one practical changefor each sphere that would bring

(51:22):
it more into line with Christ'slordship.
For instance, if you're home, you might start daily family
devotions or ensure theentertainment you consume honors
Christ At work.
Maybe you decide to displayintegrity and speak of Christ
when opportunities arise.
Acknowledge his authority abovecompany policy.
If conflict comes In community, perhaps it's writing a letter

(51:45):
to a local leadership about amoral issue, respectfully
presenting a Christianperspective.
Do this inventory and commit tothose changes.
This is training ourselves totake every thought captive to
the obedience of Christ.
2 Corinthians 10.5.
With victory secured, part one, dominion declared part two.

(52:07):
And we now move to the finalpart, part three.
The march begins here.
We consider how we, as Christ'schurch, press forward in
history, carrying out the GreatCommission, knowing the outcome
is certain.
History carrying out the GreatCommission, knowing the outcome
is certain.
The march begins.

(52:31):
Our king is risen and reigning.
The command is clear Go makedisciples of all nations.
Now, in part three, we focus onour marching orders as the
church militant, the church atwork on earth.
This is where the rubber meetsthe road, where theology fuels
action.
Christ's victory is secure andhis authority is absolute.
So what do we do now?
We march forth to extend hiskingdom, armed with the gospel,

(52:51):
empowered by his spirit.
We look at the earthly church'sexample and the promises that
encourage us and practicalmarching orders for us today, as
Christian men, families and acongregation committed to
discipleship and dominion fromJerusalem to the ends of the
earth.

(53:15):
Consider the march how the marchbegan in the first century.
Small band of disciples, oncetimid in hiding, became bold
witnesses after encountering therisen Christ and being filled
with the Holy Spirit atPentecost.
In a matter of decades, thegospel spread from Jerusalem to
Judea, Samaria and far beyond.

(53:37):
Just as Jesus said in Acts 1.8,by the power of Christ's
presence, the early Christiansturned the world upside down.
They confronted Jews andGentiles alike with the news
that Jesus is Messiah and Lord.
They didn't shrink fromdeclaring there is another king
Jesus Acts 17.7,.

(53:58):
A statement that causedpolitical upheaval in
Thessalonica.
King Jesus Acts 17.7,.
A statement that causedpolitical upheaval in
Thessalonica.
Yet it was true, caesar was notsupreme.
Jesus was and is king of kings.
Despite intense persecution, thechurch kept advancing.
Why?
Because the risen Christmarched with them, confirming
the message.
Mark 16.20 says they went outand preached everywhere while

(54:19):
the Lord worked with them.
Message Mark 16 20 says theywent out and preached everywhere
while the Lord worked with them.
One by one, idols fell AtEphesus.
So many turned from idols toChrist that the sale of silver
Artemis shrines plummeted, sparking an uproar in the
idol-making industry Acts 19.
What is that?
Christ's dominion advancing, enemy territory being liberated.
The book of Acts is essentiallythe chronicles of the kingdom of

(54:41):
God expanding like a mustardseed growing into a tree.
Fast forward through history.
The gospel continued to marchacross continents.
Rome, which tried to squashChristianity, eventually
acknowledged it, imperfectly butsignificantly.
Pagan temples gave way tochurches, education, law, art
all were transformed to varyingdegrees under the influence of

(55:03):
Christ's teaching as time wenton.
Even today, though, parts ofthe world are in rebellion, we
see evidence of Christ's impactglobally.
There are faithful believers inevery country on earth.
Millions upon millions havebowed the knee to Jesus.
Empires have risen and fallen, but the Church of Christ's
kingdom.
It's a long campaign, notcompleted in one generation or

(55:29):
even one millennium, but it isinexorable.
Isaiah 9-7 declares and peacethere will be no end.
The kingdom of Christ is everincreasing in scope until it
fills the earth.
1 Corinthians 15.25 says Jesusmust reign until he has put all
enemies under his feet.
He is doing that now, subduinghuman hearts through conversion

(55:54):
and one day ultimately defeatingeven death completely at sorry,
and one day ultimatelydefeating even death completely
at the resurrection of all.
We live in the midst of theprocess, this process with
absolute confidence in the finaloutcome.
Paul, in Romans 8, gave ustriumphant words that ring out

(56:15):
like a battle cry for thismarching church.
If God is for us, who isagainst us?
Who will bring a charge againstGod's elect?
Who will separate us from thelove of Christ and all these
things we overwhelmingly conquerthrough him who loved us.
For I am convinced that neitherdeath nor life, nor angels, nor
rulers, nor things present, northings to come, nor powers, nor
any other created thing will beable to separate us from the

(56:37):
love of God which is in ChristJesus, our Lord.
We are more than conquerorsthrough Christ.
That doesn't mean life is freeof hardship.
We are being put to death allday long was in that passage too
, acknowledging suffering.
But it means no hardship candefeat us or stop the mission.

(56:58):
Not prison, not martyrdom, nothostile ideologies.
Nothing can halt the kingdom'sadvance, because Christ's love
and power keeps us in the fight.
As history has shown, persecution often only fuels the
gospel spread.
As Tertullian quipped, theblood of martyrs is the seed of
the church.
So, brothers and sisters, themarch has been ongoing and will

(57:21):
continue until the end of theage.
The question is are we marchingin it or watching from the
sidelines?
We were not meant to be passiveobservers of Christ's victory
parade.
We are soldiers and ambassadorsin his service.
Our mission field Christian men, families, congregations and
more Sorry on the move.
It starts with each of usembracing the role of the Great

(57:45):
Commission.
Not everyone is called to gooverseas, but every one of us
has a mission field In our home, our workplace, our neighborhood
, our social circles.
The march begins right whereyou are.
You are the tip of the spear, where you stand.
Christian men, you are calledto lead this march.
Be disciples and disciplers.

(58:08):
Your children should be yourprimary disciples.
Do not leave it to the churchprogram alone to teach them
Christ.
Gather your family for regularBible reading and prayer.
Model godliness and repentance.
Show your sons and daughterswhat a man under Christ's
authority looks like.

(58:28):
Oops, just skipped, sorry.
So your sons and daughters, what a man in Christ's authority
looks like Humble, bold, loving, principled, also engaged other
men.
Shop and encourage each otherto live for the kingdom, perhaps

(58:50):
mentor a younger man in thefaith or witness to a co-worker
who's lost.
The world is in dire need ofgodly men who stand unashamed
under Christ's banner.
Lead in integrity at your job, showing that your ultimate boss
is Jesus.
Take initiative in acts ofservice and evangelism.
Remember discipline wins wars.
So discipline yourself inprayer, in scripture, in virtue

(59:15):
that you may be fit.
Be a fit warrior for Christ.
Christian women, you also carrya banner of Christ's dominion in
unique and powerful ways, whether you are nurturing
children.
Talk about discipleship.
Motherhood is the front line ofgospel work or influencing
friends or serving throughhospitality or teaching.

(59:37):
You are expanding the kingdom'sreach.
The Bible honors women likePriscilla, who helped instruct
Apollos more accurately in thefaith, and like Phoebe, who
served the church.
Your steadfast faith, yourprayers, your willingness to
speak truth and love these areweapons God uses to conquer
hearts.
Our congregation's women'sministry, hospitality, outreach,

(59:59):
sisters your labor in these isessential to the mission.
Do all as daughters of the King, confident in his purpose for
you.
Raise the next generation ofsons and daughters for Christ.
Support your husbands or fellowbelievers in their calling.
Be ever ready to share thereason for your hope, the hope
in you, to your neighbors andcolleagues.

(01:00:20):
You march alongside the men inthe distinct assignment God
gives, not as bystanders but asfellow warriors, as shield
maidens.
She opens her mouth in wisdom.
She looks well to the boys ofher household.
That's dominion at home andcommunity that's Proverbs 31.
Families collectively view yourfamily as a unit on mission.

(01:00:42):
Ask how can your family serveChrist's kingdom together?
Perhaps it's a simple openingyour home for fellowship or a
Bible study, demonstrating to alonely world the warmth of a
Christ-centered family.
Perhaps it's participatingtogether in community service
helping a neighbor.
Perhaps it's participatingtogether in community service
helping a neighbor.
When families prioritize weeklyworship, lord's Day observance,

(01:01:05):
catechizing children and lovingone another according to
Scripture, they become afortress of light, pushing back
the darkness in theirneighborhoods.
Multi-generational faithfulnessgrandparents passing their
faith to parents, to children isa long-term strategy to
disciple nations.
Abraham was chosen that hemight command his children and
household after him to keep theway of the Lord Genesis 18, 19.

(01:01:28):
And through that, all nationswill be blessed.
Your family, however imperfect, when submitted to Christ, is
part of God's plan to bless theworld, plan to bless the world.
Christian Warrior Church orChristian Warrior Mission her
name itself indicates that weare not a social club but a

(01:01:49):
training ground for spiritualwarriors.
We exist to equip and send outeach other into the battle daily
.
We must therefore foster aculture of discipleship and
dominion thinking.
That means robust teaching, deep exposition, scripture, like
we strive to do so that we knowour orders, fervent prayer.
Because this fight is spiritual.

(01:02:09):
It must be won by God's powerand genuine accountability and
encouragement.
Soldiers don't fight alone.
We cover each other's backs.
It means we keep the GreatCommission central, supporting
missionaries, church plantingand evangelizing our local area,
praying for revival andreformation.
It also means we engage culturefrom a biblical worldview not

(01:02:30):
retreat, not surrender, butengagement.
For example, if there isinjustice, of moral evils in our
community, be it abortion, sextrafficking, corruption etc.
The church should address themprophetically, calling society
to repent and submit to Christ'sways, while also extending
Christ's grace to the broken.
The gospel has both a savingeffect and a transforming effect

(01:02:54):
on society, like WilliamWilberforce, whose devout
Christian faith drove him tofight the slave trade in the
British Empire, or like AbrahamKuyper Just skipped again, I'm
almost done when we quoted whowas also a theologian and prime

(01:03:16):
minister, worked to shapesociety into Christ's lordship.
We too should have a vision ofgodly influence in whatever
realm God gives us favor.
Now one might ask isn't theworld very hostile right now?
Don't we see secularism, falsereligion, immorality on the rise
?
Yes, in many places we do, butwe must interpret the times with

(01:03:36):
biblical hope.
There have been dark agesbefore and great awakenings
followed.
The gospel torch may move fromone region to another in
different areas.
Europe had its day ofwidespread faith and then grew
cold, while Africa and Asia nowsee the most vibrant church
growth.
If our own nation is straying,we must work and pray all the

(01:03:56):
more diligently for God to sendrevival here.
Remember our commander has allauthority.
He can topple ideologies andregimes in a moment.
He conquered the mighty RomanEmpire not by the sword, by
witness and suffering Christiansand the pre Sorry Mighty Roman
Empire not by the sword, but bywitnesses of suffering

(01:04:19):
Christians and preaching of thetruth.
He can do it again in our dayin unexpected ways.
Our posture, therefore, shouldbe bold and optimistic, not
withdrawn and defeatist.
We take seriously the warfareagainst sin and falsehood, but
we do so singing because we knowthe end of the story.
As the old hymn says this is myfather's world.

(01:04:42):
Oh, let me never forget thatthough the wrong seem off so
strong, god is ruler.
Yet Christ is on the throne.
So we roll up our sleeves andget to work often that our labor
in the Lord is not in vain.
Now I want to give someconcrete marching orders,
practical steps that we can andshould be taking as individuals

(01:05:05):
and as a church to advanceChrist's kingdom.
In this context, think of theseas actionable objectives from
our king, suited for our unithere at Christian Warrior
Mission.
One deepening your training inGod's word.
Enroll in a Bible study, leadsomeone to Christ or closer to

(01:05:30):
Christ.
Identify at least one person inyour life who is either unsaved
or a young believer andintentionally invest in them
spiritually, initiate aspiritual conversation, invite
them to church or start aone-on-one Bible reading with
them.
Making disciples starts withindividuals God has put you in
your, or individuals God has putin your path.

(01:05:51):
Do not be shy.
You have authority of Christbehind you.
When you speak his gospel, remember he is with you.
Always Practice family worshipand catechism.
If you have kids, begin aroutine of family worship.
If you haven't, this can besimple.
Read a short scripture passageafter dinner.
Sing a hymn or chorus together.
Pray, sing Christian musictogether.

(01:06:12):
Also consider using a catechismto teach your children core
doctrines.
It's an excellent way to teachthem to observe all he commanded
.
Fathers, take ownership of this.
Single adults and coupleswithout kids you can still have
a household devotion time orgather with friends to pray and
sing.
Make our homes littlesanctuaries of praise and an act

(01:06:32):
of dominion, claiming ourhouseholds for Christ.
Engage your community.
Find a way to serve a witnessin the community.
Don't hide the light under abasket in your property and not
go anywhere.
Uphold unrighteousness insociety.
Exercise your civicresponsibility under christ

(01:06:53):
lordship.
This means voting for leadersand laws that align with
biblical justice and morality.
It might mean respectfullyvoicing your Christian
perspective on public issues, writing to your representative
or speaking at a school boardmeeting If something contrary to
God's design is being pushed.
We do this not because we trustin politics to save, but

(01:07:14):
because we are Christ'sambassadors everywhere,
including the public square.
Our goal is is society wheregood is upheld and evil is
restrained, which blesses allpeople.
Seek the peace of the city.
Jeremiah 29, 7 was God'scommand to exiles, and we seek
our society's good by seekingits.

(01:07:45):
Wrap it up here pray kingdomoriented prayers.
Increase your prayers for bigkingdom causes.
Set aside time daily or weeklyto pray for everything from
missionaries to people in yourlife, unreached people, groups
to our nation.
That turns back to God, topeople in your everyday life.

(01:08:09):
These are not burdensome whendone in the joy of the Lord.
They are part of our worship, our reasonable service to the
King who gave all for us.
Remember Matthew 28, 20.
I am with you always.
You are not going alone in anyof these tasks.
The reigning Christ indwellsyou by his spirit.

(01:08:30):
The very power that raisedJesus from the dead is at work
in us.
We go in authority of Christ,in the presence of Christ.
That's an unbeatablecombination.
So as we march we do, singingpraises, encouraging one another
, picking up the fallen, everpressing forward.
We know that our labor might belong.

(01:08:50):
The enemy will throw counterattacks, temptations,
discouragements, persecutions, but none of those can stop king
jesus.
The ending is assured.
The kingdoms of this world havebecome the kingdoms of our Lord
.
Sorry, the kingdoms of thisworld have become the kingdom of
our Lord and of his Christ, andhe shall reign forever and ever

(01:09:12):
.
Revelation 11 and 15.
We, the church, triumph and atthe end we'll sing hallelujah
For the Lord, our God.
The Almighty reigns.
Let us rejoice and be glad andgive glory to him.
Revelation 19, 6 through 7.
That victory song is coming.
Even though I'm in conclusion ofthis sermon, let us take heart
from one more promise ofScripture regarding our role in

(01:09:34):
Jesus' victory.
Romans 16.20 says Notice underyour feet, notice under your
feet.
Jesus decisively crushed theserpent's head at the cross and
he will ultimately throw Satanin the lake of fire.
Yet Paul says God will also.
Let us, the church, put ourfeet on the serpent's neck, so

(01:09:55):
to speak, as we participate inthe mop-up operation of this war
.
What an honor to share thevictory of our Lord.
So lift up your heads.
So lift up your heads, christian warriors.

(01:10:28):
Our captain goes before us.
He has risen, he is reigningand he will be with us to the
end.
Let's march out of this buildingtoday with renewed zeal to
disciple the nations, startingwith our own households and
neighbors, for the glory of ourundefeated king.
Adopt so here's a disciplinedrill.
Adopt a battle buddy.
Soldiers often have a partnerto watch their back Buds.

(01:10:50):
We had a swim buddy.
Likewise, pair up with a fellowbeliever or a small band of two
to three for the purpose ofmutual encouragement and
accountability in your mission.
Meet regular to pray together, share evangelistic efforts,
confess struggles and celebratevictories.
Spur one another on.
Don't try to march alone.
Lock arm with your brother orsister and advance together.

(01:11:12):
Finally, we pray to come to theLord's table and then go our
separate ways.
Let me encourage you with theending vision of Revelation of
the Lamb's ultimate triumph.
It shows where all this isheaded A countless multitude
from every nation worshipingChrist, the new Jerusalem coming
down to a renewed earth, goddwelling with man, every tear

(01:11:34):
wiped away, that this is that issure destiny that Christ's
resurrection is secured.
We are not chasing a fantasy.
We are fulfilling a plan thatcannot fail, because Jesus is
alive on the throne.
To sum it up, he is risen.
Victory is secured.
We stand forgiven and freebecause of it.

(01:11:56):
He is risen, dominion declared,he is king of all.
Right now he is risen.
The march begins.
We have commission.
We have a commission to fulfillin his power.
Let's live in triumph of theresurrection, not just one day a
year, but every day.
The world will take notice ofchristians who are fearless,

(01:12:16):
loving and unshakably joyfulbecause they serve a risen Lord.
That's how the kingdom advancesOne transformed life at a time
influencing one another Amen.
Before we transition to theLord's Supper, let's seal this
one word in our hearts with aprayer of commitment.
Let's pray King Jesus, we honoryou, the risen one.

(01:12:36):
Take our lives and let them beconsecrated to your cause.
Give us the courage anddiscipline to put into the
practice of these marchingorders.
Use this church mightily to winsouls and build your kingdom
here in our community and beyond.
We rejoice that you haveconquered.
Strengthen us now as we soonpartake of your supper to go out
and conquer in your name, conquering not with swords but

(01:12:59):
with truth and love andunyielding faith.
Yours is the kingdom, the powerand the glory forever and ever.
Amen.
As we come to the Lord's table,we do as victors, only because
the victim who was slain is nowalive in the victor.
This supper is a covenantalmeal for believers in Jesus
Christ, those who trust in hisfinished work on the cross, his

(01:13:20):
resurrection.
Jesus Christ, those who trustin his finished work on the
cross, his resurrection.
If that is you, if you haveexamined yourself and are
seeking to follow Christ Lord, you are welcome to partake.
If you are not yet a believer,we ask you to refrain at this
time and consider the free offerof the gospel.
The Lord's Supper both looksback and forward.
We look back to the cross.
Do this in remembrance of me.
Jesus said the bread and thecup signify his body broken and

(01:13:43):
bloodshed for the goodness ofour sins.
It is finished, paid in full, but that's what we remember.
But we also look forward.
Scripture says for as often asyou eat this bread and drink
this cup, you proclaim theLord's death until he comes.
He is risen and he is comingagain To consummate this kingdom
.
This meal is like an appetizerof a victory banquet we will

(01:14:06):
share with Christ in the comingin the age to come the marriage
supper of the Lamb.
So as we take this supper, doso with reverence and joy.
Christ is spiritually presentwith us to nourish our faith.
Spiritually present with us tonourish our faith, confess any
known sin and discern his body, honor the unity we have in him
with one another.
Let this meal strengthen youfor the march ahead.

(01:14:28):
Think of it as battle rationsfor soldiers of Christ,
reminding us why we fightbecause he died for us, and
assuring us of our destiny.
The feast of glory.
Hear now the words of theinstitution of the scripture,
for I received from the Lordthat which I delivered to you,
that the Lord Jesus, in thenight in which he was betrayed,

(01:14:48):
took bread and when he had giventhanks, he broke it and said
this is my body, which is foryou.
Do this in remembrance of me.
In the same way, he took thecup, also after supper, saying
this is the cup of the newcovenant in my blood.
Do this as often as you drinkin remembrance of me.
Let us pray over the elements.
Father, we set apart this breadin this cup from common use for
the sacred purpose of communion.

(01:15:09):
We thank you for the body ofchrist has given for the body of
christ given for us and theblood of christ shed for the
remission of our sins.
As we eat and drink in faith, feed, feed our souls on your
grace by your Spirit, unite usmore deeply to our living Lord
and to one another.
Nourish us that we may run therace and fight the good fight

(01:15:30):
until the feast with you infullness, in Jesus' name.
All right, take the bread, takeand eat.
This is Christ's body given foryou.
Go ahead and eat.
This is Christ's body given foryou.

(01:15:50):
Go ahead and eat.
Take the wine, take and drink.
This cup is the new covenant inChrist's blood Shed for many,
for the forgiveness of sins.
Go ahead and drink.
Thank you, lord Jesus, forgiving yourself to us in this
supper.
Let its truth remain with usyour death for our life.

(01:16:11):
Amen.
As we conclude our Resurrection.
Sunday worship.
Let's go forth with God'sblessing ringing in our hearts.
Please stand.
Worship, let's go forth withGod's blessing ringing in our
hearts.
Please stand Now.
The God of peace who brought upfrom the dead the great
shepherd of the sheep.
Through the blood of theeternal covenant, our Lord Jesus
, equip you in every good thingto do His will, by doing in us

(01:16:34):
what is pleasing in his sightthrough Jesus Christ, to whom be
the glory forever and ever.
Amen.
Sight through Jesus Christ, towhom be the glory forever and
ever.
Amen, he is risen.
He is risen indeed.
Go in victory and peace ofChrist to love and serve the
Lord, amen.
