Speaker 1 (00:00):
What Noah did, and what Abraham did, and what Joshua
and Jeremiah and all those individuals did. But you know
what they was doing. What they were doing was what
God told them to do. The question for us is
are you doing what God has told you to do?
Are you doing what God has gifted you to do?
(00:23):
Every one of us have a perfect and unique gift
that God has given to each of us.
Speaker 2 (00:47):
Are going It's time for Sunday Supper and time to

(01:10):
and life changing Bible study and on Sunday mornings at
ten thirty am for a weekly church service. But for now,
let's feast at the Lord's table. Here's today's message already
in progress.
Speaker 1 (01:23):
Day time way Saints, we're living in some as the
Scripture calls at some perilous times. One of the things
that we have a tendency to do as people of
God is that when we read the Bible, we kind
(01:44):
of put ourselves on the sidelines. We read it like
it's just a book just to be read, or like
going to the movies as an observer, and then we
go back to doing whatever it is that we're doing,
and then we just wait until Jesus come. But I
come to see in scripture that is a lot more
(02:07):
to it than that. There is something that God has
called each of us to do, and there's a gifting
that God has given each of us to do that
which He has called us to do. Now, our message
today is a question. I don't feel like those questions, Yeah,
(02:27):
kind of remind me. Reminded of a of one of
the little guys in the church a little while ago.
He's grown now, but at that time we had lunch
or dinner. Wanted the two and he said, well, Pastor Bennett,
how do you get girls to talk to you? His
say was Mathe, that's Matthew, that's easy. The only thing
(02:50):
you have to do is just ask a question and
they'll do the rest. How did you do that to
your hair? And then they'll just give you a whole litany,
What kind of perfume do you have? So for all
those guys that don't have a whole lot of conversations,
don't worry about the conversations, just ask the question. It'll
(03:10):
take care of itself. So our message today is a question,
and that question is what are you doing? That's the question.
What are you doing? What are you doing with your life?
What are you doing? We talked about the giftings. What
are you doing with the gifts that God has given you?
What are you doing with whatever life's accomplishments that you have.
(03:32):
The question for all of us today is what are
you doing? This is a personal thing because it doesn't
matter what I do. It doesn't matter what my brother,
i'm a sister, or anyone else might do. When we
all come before out and stand before our Master, the
question is going to be asked us hypothetically speaking, what
(03:57):
are you doing? It may not be asking those words,
but there's going to be a book of life opened,
and that book of life gospel, according to Pastor Ben,
that will calculate and catalog all of the things that
you've done in your life. Often tell people that you know.
Sometimes we were talking about we read the Bible and
(04:18):
how we read the Bible during the times, the things
that we were reading now in scripture was being lived out.
Those individuals weren't thinking about someday someone will accumulate a
book or what have you, and people will be reading
about them thousands of years later. Do you honestly think
they was thinking in those terms. No, there was living
(04:42):
out their lives. But someone took note of what they did,
and what they did was so significant that it stuck
in someone's mind to the point that they wrote it
down on parchment and paper, and someone invented a press.
(05:02):
And now all of us are living and reading about
what Noah did and what Abraham did, and what Joshua
and Jeremiah and all those individuals did. But you know
what they was doing. What they were doing, it was
what God told them to do. The question for us
(05:25):
is are you doing what God has told you to do?
Are you doing what God has gifted you to do?
Every one of us have a perfect and unique gift
that God has given to each of us, every one
of us. God told Jeremiah before I formed thee in
(05:48):
the wound, I knew you, and he called him and
anointed him to be a prophet. What did Jeremiah do?
He was kind of wobbling needed at first things, questioning
about whether or not he was able and capable to
do what God was telling him to do. So I'm
(06:08):
just I'm so young, just a child. Who am I
to do this or that? God said, don't look at it,
don't look at that. When God calls us to do something,
many times it does seem bigger than what we are
and who we are. We were seem to be incapable
of executing the will of God. It's like it's like
(06:31):
Moses when God called him. Moses out there tending sheep,
him taking care of the sheep, and all of a
sudden God intruded upon his day. Have you had one
of those kind of day of intrusions. That'd be a
good message, wouldn't it. Day of intrusion when God just
stepped into and intrude upon your life. But he was
(06:52):
engaged in sheep, sheeping, tending sheep, and all of a
sudden God got his attention through something that he that
he wasn't accustomed to seeing. You see, seeing the bush
burn is not that out of the ordinary. Just go
(07:14):
out to California during the summer. You see a lot
of bushes burning. But the difference in this bush burning
is that dust bush wasn't consumed by the flames. That's
what got Moses' attention. He saw something burning up and
not being consumed. Isn't that awesome? And so he turned
(07:35):
to look at that, and all of a sudden God
intruded on his deck and began to call this name. See,
Moses had a gift within him from the day that
he was born, and the time came when God called
him for him to engage in that which he was
destined to do. Every one of us is destined to
(07:58):
do something God. It's already placed within you everything necessary
in order to get you started and get you going
and what have you. And the time will come, And
for some of us, now is the time when it's
time for us to execute that which God has destined,
ordain and call us to do. So that begs the question,
(08:24):
what are you doing? What are you doing with your life?
What are you doing with the gift that God has
called you to do? What are you doing with your anointing?
What are you doing? A lot of folks talk about
what they're going to do. Oh, when I get older.
I'm gonna do this when you're young. When I get sixteen,
I'm gonna drive. When I get eighteen, I'm gonna get
(08:46):
out of mama's house. Oh boy. We talk about what
we're gonna do when I get the money. I'm gonna
do this. When I get enough time, I'm gonna do this.
Some things about priorities, but we always talk about what
we're gonna do. If I gave you two thousand dollars
(09:07):
right now, what would you do with it. Some people
will say, well, I'm gonna invest it. Some people I'm
gonna I'm gonna pay my paths and my offerings. Some people,
I'm gonna give it all to the church. Some people
will say, well, i'm gonna I'm gonna just I don't
know what i'm gonna do. I'm gonna think about it,
whatever the case may be. But there are those people
(09:29):
that said, you know, that's just not enough. I would like,
but that's just not enough. That's just not enough. Some
people will just make excuses for not doing anything. I
was listening to something and doing some study or whatever.
I'm always looking at something, and it was this guy.
This guy is the highest producing YouTuber. This guy, and
(09:52):
it was just at the time of this article. It
may even be more than that, or somebody might have
excelled him. I don't know this guy over. I went
to six million dollars a year at that time, twenty
six million dollars youtubing, And people say, well, if I
just had something to do, I don't know if I
can do anything. I ain't got nothing to do. Whatever
(10:14):
this got twenty six million dollars. You know what he
was doing playing with toys? Eight years old? Eight years old?
What what are you doing? What are you doing to
prosper what are you doing to execute the will of
God for your life? If an eight year old kid
(10:35):
can go on YouTube and play with toys and just
show how toys are played and how he played with
the toys and captivate people's attention to the point when
people just pay he to look at him, open up toys,
and you're saying, you ain't got nothing to do, ain't
nothing you can do. He complain about how much money
you have, I don't have, and what have you? It
(10:57):
may not be your destiny to go on YouTube and
play with toys. There are people making a whole lot
of money fixing up hair, and there's a lot of
hair dues.
Speaker 3 (11:04):
Yo.
Speaker 1 (11:04):
Some of us sisters, you like to do those hairs,
but some of us don't even have the tenacity to
stick to itedness enough in order to do it. But
I think at the root of all of that is
how would we put this? Sometimes it could be feared,
and sometimes I think it's just effergy. I'll tell you
(11:25):
what that word is a little bit later. For many
of us, that's what it is, just plain old lethargy.
But we're going to ask you this question throughout this
brief moment that I have to be with you. What
are you doing? Ask your neighbor, what are you doing?
(11:46):
And what are you doing with your life? What are
you doing with your anointing? What are you doing with
the accomplishments of your life? What are you doing with
your giftings? What are you doing? The Lord has invested
something of great value in each of us individually and
(12:08):
collectively together. See we're many members, but we're one body.
You See, there shouldn't be this competition that we have
a tendency to experience in the church. Everybody's trying to
do their own thing. That really should not be once
name among us in the church. So what are you doing?
(12:29):
Why are you doing that? You're competing against yourself. We
are many members, we're one body. We're members. In particular,
if my left hand started competing with my right hand,
they're gonna be something that we're not gonna accomplish. Probably
gonna be a whole lot of stuff that we're not
gonna accomplish. If my left foot decide to wanna go
(12:50):
one way and my right foot wanna go another way,
somebody gonna fall. But that's what we're doing in the church.
We don't see one another as brothers and sisters in
the Lord. We don't see ourselves as member of the
body of Christ. And so that begs the question, what
are you doing? Are you doing what you're supposed to do?
(13:14):
Right now, at this moment? Are you doing what you
supposed to do? The Bible said there's a time and
there's a season for all things. Everything has a unique
and perfect time and season to be executed. And when
you missed that time and when you missed that season,
(13:37):
you miss all of the potential that that thing could
have produced. You've missed it. And that's why you don't
need to walk in lethargy. So God has placed some
greatness within us that need to come about. And let
me just say this, and we're going to get into
the heart of our message I was sharing with you
about how we can read the Bible. Would read the
(13:59):
line as the various individuals in the Bible, and those
individuals just executing and doing what they do, and they
were just living life God and God called them to
do something. They responded to God and they did what
God called them to do. They did it so well,
so excellently, that it not only accomplished the will planning
(14:21):
purpose of God, others took note, and individuals not only
wrote it, sometimes they wrote it themselves. Think about it,
thinks sixty six books, forty different authors, over two thousand
in reality, somewhere in the neighborhood of five to almost
six thousand years of recorded history that we read when
(14:45):
we talk about reading the Bible, and it was preserved
for our instruction so that in our day we would
have something to go by, so that we can use
as a reference to do the things that we're called
to do in our time. There has to be a reason, Saints,
why in all of those years, probably for the first
(15:08):
two or three, there wasn't anything written. Then you had
to Torah and all of a sudden, and now we
have sixty six books of them that we call the Bible.
When Paul and Silas and Peter and all those was
was they didn't have Matthew, Mark Luke, and well they
had them with them, but they was living out the
(15:31):
same thing. Know that was living out. Why is it
that God accumulated all of us and put it in
one place for us to reference. The scripture really doesn't
or fully articulate. Why but if you just allowed me
a little levity considered to be the gospel. According to
Pastor Bennett, there was one thing that Jesus I won't say,
(15:56):
warn but convey to his disciples. When the disciple was
asking about the time that all those things were going
to be unfold, when they were going to be wars
and rumors of wars and all of those things that
we read about in the Word, the first thing Jesus
told them when they asked them when were all of
(16:19):
those things going to be? The first thing he didn't say, well,
it's going to be the year two thy and twenty
three oli. Jesus didn't say that Jesus started off by saying,
take heed, be careful that no man deceive you, no man,
because if you fall to that deception, you're not just
(16:40):
going to be fooled. You're not going to just be misled.
You can spend an eternity lost forever. That's what's at stake.
So it and he said, my word is truth. Jesus said,
I come in the volume of the book. He even
said that some things that I want to share with you,
but I can't put the Holy Spirit when he come
(17:02):
to comfort or He's going to reveal to you all
truth and righteousness and so forth, and he will empower
you to lift out that truth. So I think one
of the main reasons why we have this book, at
least one of them, is so that you can read,
(17:23):
learn and understand truth, so that you will not be deceived.
There's a lot of deception that's taking place, and if
you're not going to be deceiving the time that we're in,
you're gonna need a reference. You ever been driving down
the road and all of a sudden, either a sign
(17:43):
was missing or especially all those rover they're gonna take
down in the side, and you used to driving on
all the autopilot, you like the space shulter. You get
in your vehicle, a vehicle just go. Kind of remind
me the horse and buggy days. You can get drunk
and the horse will just take you home. So that's
how some of us are.
Speaker 3 (18:02):
We get in our car. We saw a customed just going.
We just get in there and there all of a sudden,
you any of your music and whatever. You said, Oh
I miss my turn.
Speaker 1 (18:09):
You know, they take your sign off and you don't
know where to go. The references are gone, say they
what have They're done? But when those signs are there,
they give you some indications and indicators so you won't
get lost. You know how far to go, you know
(18:29):
how fast to go. You even know when you go
beyond where you're supposed to go, which means you know
how to get back. Out Of all the books on
the planet, there's but one that will give you those
kind of indications when it comes to life, and that's
the Bible. And it is so effective in doing that.
(18:55):
The enemy even coming up with with I'm gonna have
to use one of Trump's word fake Bible. Oh, fake Bibles.
They have Bible on it, some of them won't even
put holy on it. Whatever. It doesn't matter whether to
do or not, but they're a designed to put forth
man's idea as opposed to God's. There's some over ten
(19:19):
to twenty percent of what would be in the Authorized
King James Virgin. Some of these Bibles that some of
the folks are reading have ten to twenty percent of
what's in the scripture out of it. It's important for us
to have a heart of obedience when it comes to
the Lord. Jesus said in Luke, chapter six and verse
(19:40):
forty six, I'm gonna read this for you, because everything
that we share with you is going to hinge upon
this verse. Jesus said, and why call ye me lord?
Now I'm reading the King James version, and why call
ye me lord? Lord? And do not the thing which
(20:01):
I say? That is the question a lot of us say, Well,
Jesus is my lord, and what have you? Jesus is
questioning that. He said, Now, if I am your lord,
then why you're not doing what I'm telling you to do?
He tell you to do this, and you decide to
do something else? So am I really your lord? Or
are you your own lord or someone else or something else?
Is your lord? Lord, tell you do the word. I
(20:22):
gotta go to work, I got to sleep, I gotta
do all these other things. So why are you calling
me lord? And you want to even do what I'm
telling you to do. I can't be your lord? Is
it an impossibility for me to be? If I was
your lord, you would you would subordinate your will to mine.
It wouldn't matter what you think you want to do
if I was your lord. Because the Lord reigns supreme.
(20:44):
So Jesus is putting forth this question to all of us.
Why do we call him lord and we don't do
what he says? Our priority must be the Lord's priority.
And that's the reason why many of us don't do
what the Lord calls and tell us to do, because
we have different priorities. When your priority becomes the Lord's priority,
(21:06):
you're gonna do what the Lord tells you to do.
You won't have to worry about what well. I don't
know if I can, I don't know. No, if the
Lord's if what the Lord tells you do is your priority,
you will find a way to do what he tells
you to do. You know why, Because the Lord say this,
we come up with all kinds of excuses for not
doing what the Lord has called us to do. Well,
(21:26):
we're gonna have to make sure that the lord's the
Lord's priorities. You see, the priorities of the Lord is
connected to the Lord. You're not gonna going and say, well,
the Lord is first in my life, and then the
things that he tells you to do isn't gonna be
first in your life, because if you don't do what
the Lord tells you to do, that means there's a
(21:46):
conflict there. So you can't be committed to the Lord
and not committed to what he says to do. Right,
God is inseparable from his word. He says in the
beginning was what the word, and the word was with
who God, and the word was whom God. They're one
of the same. You can't disconnect God from his word.
(22:09):
You can't disconnect a lord from his authority. We have
an obligation to do God's bidding, not our own. If
what you want to do conflicts with what the Lord
says do, who's going to have the presidents there as
many of us? Is us? No, the Lord should take priority.
Once we lose sight of that fact, we put ourselves
(22:32):
in jeopardy. We also place the rewards that God has
in store for us in jeopardy purely through our disobedience.
And this is an interesting thing concerning these rewards. There
are certain things that all of us going to get.
It doesn't matter if you're a believer. There are going
(22:52):
to be certain things that every believer is going to experience.
One is you're going to be able to enter the
Kingdom of God, the Kingdom of Heaven. That's for every believer.
Now there's gonna be some folks that think they're going
to enter and they're not. They think they're going to
be believers or not. Jesus said, many will say in
that day, Lord, having our I cast out devils and
our prophesied, I healed the sick, and I gave to
(23:14):
the poor, and I gave to charities, and our work
of I worked forty hours a day and sixty hours
for charity. I did all this work for you Lord.
And Jesus said, I don't who do you say you are?
He said, I never knew you, never, not ever, I
never knew you. And when you continue to read that,
(23:36):
the reason why is because they did what they wanted
to do. They didn't do what God told them to do.
Some people feeding the hungry and have homeless shelters and
all that, all that see, all that good stuff. The
question isn't whether or not it's good. The Bible says
there's nothing unclean of itself, so it's not that it's
(23:56):
not good. The question is did God tell you to
do it? If God told you to turn left and
you decide to turn right, something is wrong and there's
a consequence to that. But we think we can live
life anyway that we want without consequence. Hence the question
what are you doing? Are you doing what God calls
(24:17):
you to do? Are you doing what you want to do?
That's the question and every question, Just like I told Matthew,
just ask the question. She'll do the rest. Answer that question.
What profume you have on? Man? This is Chanelle number
fifteen or whatever it is, it's five Chanel number five.
(24:44):
This is youth? Do I used to love youth? Do?
We were shown yeah, cheap, inexpensive, and smell good when
I first got me. Oh, man, my wife just I
don't know what now looking back, I don't know whether
she loved youth to do. I just love that I
gave it to her.
Speaker 3 (25:05):
It came a time I bought some youth two and
all of a sudden that bottle stained full. I'm starting
looking what's with the youth do? Maybe she was asking
that question, what are you doing buying youth to? Needless
to say, I stopped buying youth to. She never told
(25:28):
me not to buy youth too. I just read between
the lines. Najia like this stuff called knowing saints.
Speaker 1 (25:36):
We have to be committed to doing God's biddings, not
our own. Each of us must. We must start right
now making God our priority, and we should never shrink
back from that. It doesn't matter whether you understand or
somebody else don't understand, or what have you. God has
to be your priority. It can't be your family, it
(25:57):
can't be your friends, it can't be your job, It
can't be all the stuff that we do and that
we do in this world or in our lives personally.
We gotta make God our priority. If God says to
do it, then we do it. You gotta know, you
gotta know the voice of the Lord. The Bible says
my sheep, hear my voice. They know my voice, and
(26:17):
the stranger they will not follow. And some of us
are well, I don't know the voice of the Lord.
If you don't know the voice of the Lord, then
there's something that you're not doing. You're not spending enough
time with the Lord. You're not you. There is no
reason why you should not know the voice of the Lord. None. Really,
it could be a vanquisquilocus. What do you call vanquiloquist,
(26:40):
van triloquist, van prilliquist? If it's a van trilliquist, just kidding.
You gotta know the God's voice and you can stop
by by reading and knowing his word. Nothing that's spoken
hodibly is going to conflict what's written in the text
(27:03):
between Genesis and Revelation. And if I stand up here
or anybody else stand up here and tell you that
this is what the Lord said, and if it doesn't
comport agree with what's between Genesis and revelations, then it's
not the voice of the Lord. And the spirit of
truth will lead you and God you into all truth
(27:25):
and righteousness. So if you don't know the voice of
the Lord, then there's this issue there, and you need
to ask yourself what are you doing to solve that problem?
Are you doing anything? If you say you don't know
the voice of the Lord. Are you doing anything to
solve that problem? Are you just waiting for some magical thing,
a magical moment for that problem to be solved. No,
(27:48):
what are you doing? Not what somebody else is doing,
not what somebody else has done. The question is what
are you doing? That's present tense. What are you doing?
Don't just staying around look around waiting for somebody else
to do what you do. If you see a problem,
there's a reason why you see the problem. Now ask
yourself what are you doing to solve it? Sometimes it
(28:13):
may not be you putting your hands to it. It
could be you getting someone to put their hands to it.
You don't have to do everything, but there's something you
gotta do. There are five things that we should get
throughout the course of this message. Number One, priority God.
Make God your priority. What are you doing to make
(28:34):
the Lord your priority? One thing every believer in Christ
should be doing is putting God first, and everything that
they do and everything else must be secondary. God has
to be your priority. Number two, see yourself as God
sees you. Don't compare yourself to anyone else. Think about
(28:56):
this things. You the only you in existence, You the
only you on the plan.
