Speaker 1 (00:00):
The things people have gone through in the price that
they have paid in order for us to have the
privileges that we enjoy today. When you look at the West,
when you look at the people of America, those that
have gone before us, people paid the price. People had
to deny themselves so that their children will have a
better life. We are in this generation now, when we
(00:24):
are so focused on ourselves, we've forgotten about the next
generation we are going.
Speaker 2 (00:48):
It's time for Sunday Supper and time to feast on
God's words. Sunday Supper is a ministry of christ Church
for the End Times. Christ Church for the End Times
is a non denominational teaching church ministry. Our mission is
to help prepare God's people for life and ministry during
the times in which we live. Join us on Wednesdays
at six thirty pm for a dynamic, practical, engaging, and
(01:11):
life changing Bible study and on Sunday mornings at ten
thirty am for a weekly church service. But for now,
let's feast at the Lord's table. Here's today's message already
in progress, he said, way, he said.
Speaker 1 (01:34):
Well, for what it showed is a little bitty a
bird breaking itself out of the shell. And so the
point that I'm trying to make when it comes at
a little video is that all of the chicks, the
vast majority of them, do break out of that shell.
(01:54):
All of them don't. Some of them either, for whatever
the reason, don't have have the sufficiency the strength of
something that they need in order to break through that shell.
Some of them. You can see that the little beak,
you got the little hole there, and if you could
have just kept going, he would have got out, but
he never made it. Now we've with the intervention of
(02:18):
human beings and what have you, we'll go again and
we'll help that little rascal out. And that's okay, and
it does work to a certain extent. But even if
you're going to help by sometimes what they would do
is just get a tweeze or something and just kind
of chip off a little bit of the shell so
that the little bity can can you know, break the
(02:39):
rest of the way through. But if you take too
much of that shell out, then you do more harm
than good, because there's something that takes place within that
bird through breaking out of that shell, and if that
bird is healthy, then that bird will get out of
that shell. And what I what I call that, and
(03:02):
the reason why I wanted to show you that is
that that bird, that little chick, have to have the
heart to get out. If that chick doesn't have the
heart to break through that shell, it will give up
and it will never escape the bounds of that shell.
But if it just had that heart, that heart, that
(03:24):
will just cause it to push through, then there's a
whole world of opportunity that lies ahead of it. It
is the same thing that holds true when it comes
to our lives, especially in Western society, and when you
look at Christianity. Literally, what we owe much to the
(03:45):
West when it comes to Christianity because Christianity started off
really and it technically steals an Eastern religion, but in reality,
Christianity isn't religion at all, but it started in the East.
But that's a little side. But what we have done
because of our affluence, we've forgotten the fight. We've forgotten
(04:10):
that you got to break through some things. We've lost heart.
And the problem with the West, the part of the
problem with modern Christians is that we don't have the heart.
And it's because of our affluence. See, the thing is
not that affluence is bad and when I'm saying affluence,
I'm talking about you have the natural means to accommodate
(04:34):
your needs, at least when it compared to the rest
of the world. You find that the majority of the
world doesn't have what the West as a whole have.
And then when you look at the West Western societies,
America is the cream of the crop. And very few
nations have had the luxuries that America has had. And
(04:58):
let me tell you a little secret in America hasn't
always had that luxury. America hadn't always had the wealth
and the privileges that it has. And that change for
America significantly after World War Two. And I know a
lot of us don't like history, and we go to
sleep in history classes and all that kind of stuff.
(05:21):
But there's old saying that says, and I may get wrong,
but those that forget their history is doomed to repeat it.
And so our history is important, the history of this nation,
this country that we call America, the history of Christianity,
(05:42):
the things that people have gone through and the price
that they have paid in order for us to have
the privileges that we enjoyed today. And so but that's
a little aside But the main reason for me sharing
that is when you look at the West, when you
(06:03):
look at the people of America, those that have gone
before us. People paid the price, people had to deny
themselves so that their children, their children will have a
better life. And we've gotten to it. We're in this
generation now when we are so focused on ourselves, we've
forgotten about the next generation. We're in America here, we're
(06:26):
spending and taxing primary government. And let me tell you something,
if the citizens didn't allow it, the governments wouldn't be
doing it. Because one of the things that government will
definitely do is they have the sense of self preservation.
They're going to do whatever is necessary to preserve itself.
And as long as they can give you hundreds and
(06:48):
now thousands of dollars for you to just enjoy yourself,
not paying the price for that enjoyment. But you just
it's like you're just charging an endless credit card that
they will send you every month, and then you just
enjoy it. You just enjoy it, but you don't know
what you're losing in that process. You don't have to
(07:09):
think about what you gotta you gotta save in order
to buy your house or to buy your car, you
just press the credit card, get into debt, and you
and you forgot about God's word. And God's word says
that that boris is subject our slave to the lender.
We talk about slavery, especially African Americans or whatever, talking
(07:32):
about the slavery that you put in and then you're
putting yourself in a bondage in the slavery, and you
don't want nobody to tell you about it. And now
this is going pervasively throughout our society. We are a
nation of debtors. And sooner or later that bill is
gonna come through and you're gonna have to deal with
You're gonna have to pay the piper. And I hate
(07:54):
to kind of start off so pointed. We've experienced so
much just pandy andy preaching, and we don't want nobody
to even raise their voice above a whisper. You mean,
you're nasty, You gotta be quiet, you gotta be bos
We don't even want to know one to raise their
voice over above a whisper, or we offended, and we
(08:17):
want you to be quiet, you mean, or we avoid them.
And that's one of the things about being an adult.
When you don't like something you can just go because
you have that ability, you have that privilege. You're not
like the child when you got to sit there and
take it. This is why Jesus said, except you come
as the little children, you shall in no wise enter
(08:38):
into the Kingdom of Heaven. See, some of us we're
just too groan to enter into the Kingdom of Heaven.
And although that is a part of the reason for
the series on prep time and preparing to enter the
Kingdom of Heaven, because Heaven is a kingdom and there
are standards that must be met in order to enter
into the Kingdom of Heaven. And many people think that
(09:03):
they have met that standard. But I'm standing here to
tell you that you're mistaken. You're sadly mistaken. And a
part of my motivations is to help you to correct
that error, not of my own doing, but through the
inspiration of the Lord. And the thing that I'm inspired
(09:27):
to say and believe concerning us is that God's saying
you're not ready. And the thing about that is that
God loves all of us. Again, we quote the scripture,
but it just kind of go in one ear out
of the other. We just do it as almost kind
of like just something we quote. But God so loved
the world that he gave his only begotten sonsoever that
(09:52):
includes all of us. Whosoever believes in him Jesus Christ,
should not perish but have everlasting life. See. God's desire
is that is that for none to be lost, but
for all to be saved. But in order for that
to happen, we've got to come into repentance. And we
were talking about repentance. We're not talking about our mantras
(10:15):
that we quote in order to get what we call saved.
We're talking about making it having a change of direction.
And the only way you're going to have that change
of direction is to have a change of heart. See,
because we don't allow our hearts to change. We can
sit up in the church, we can listen to some
(10:36):
of the some of the most pointed sermons, and then
we'll get right up and do the same thing that
we've been doing. If we never heard a word that's
hard heartedness. And the question we got to ask ourselves
is your heart hard? And the saints I stand to
tell you the majority of us have hard, hard hearts.
(11:00):
Our heart is so hard you can't get a chisel,
you can get a Holy Ghost chisel to chisel through
some of that crustingness in our hearts, and that's where
we are. But we got to understand that your eternal
life depend on the tenderness of your heart. How tender
is your heart to the things of God? And see,
(11:23):
the thing we got to understand is that you got
to be your own judge. And that's going back to
what we wanted. A scripture that we quote in Fet
Corinthians chapter eleven is that if you judge yourself, you
won't be judged. And that's what we got to begin
to do. I kind of grint occasionally when I hear
people say, well, Pastor, is this wrong? Is that wrong?
(11:45):
And I'm always thinking, why are you asking me that?
There got to be something within your heart that says
you don't need to do that. Whether it's wrong or
right for everyone else, it may not be right for you.
Some people can take a little sip of wine or
a little beer, you know, come on, you know now
(12:08):
I don't, but you know a lot of your Christians do. No,
I'm not telling you go to hell because you drink
some wine or whatever. That's not what I'm saying. But
my point is to thine own self be true. There's
some things we avoid not The Bible says this, says,
all things are lawful for me, but all things are
not expedient. The Bible also says, lay aside the sin,
(12:31):
but also the weight that does so easily beset you.
I'll be said us. See, I don't drink, not because
it's a sin to drink. I don't drink because I
don't want the weight. I don't want to be attached
to that weight. I don't want to I don't want
my liberty is to be used as an incasion for
the flesh, not just my face, but someone else's. And
(12:53):
so by you drinking or smoking or whatever, it may
not be a sin to you. No, I had no
intentions to saying that. That's not in my sermon notes.
But see, because you are Christian. Then all of a sudden,
and Bible said, we were talking about the weaker brethren.
(13:13):
Sometimes there's a weaker brotherren that looks, that will look
at what you're doing. Then they do it, and all
of a sudden, it may not have been become a
hindrance to you, but it becomes a bondage to them.
So therefore I tried not to even through me, allow
the enemy to use me to sew certain seeds. And
(13:36):
this is what we gotta do. See, if you answered
the question that Cain answered in their affirmative, then you
will know exactly what to do and what not to do.
When God came to him and asked him about his
brother Abel, where's Abel, thy brother? And then because he
(13:57):
knew what he did, he retorted, and my brother's keeper,
do I have to keep up with him? He's a
grown man. And they probably were. We don't know exactly
how old they are, but some indications is that they
may have been in that late thirties or forties or so.
And so my point is, if we think about our brother,
(14:19):
if we remember Luke ten twenty seven, if you love
the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, soul,
than strength, if you love your neighbor as you love yourself,
then all many of the things that we do, the
many of the wrong turns that we take in our lives,
will go by the wayside. Got off a little bit
on one of my little tantrums. But that little chick
(14:42):
had to break out that shell. See, this is the thing.
In order for that chick to break out of that shell.
They got to go through the natural growth process, and
most of us look at that, but there's also a spiritual,
a solocal process that they have to go through. Also.
(15:03):
It's the same when it comes to our lives. In
order for you to be strong in the Lord and
in the power of its might, there's a process that
you're going to have to go through. See, we look
at the outside, but there's something going on the inside
that we're not dealing with. And if you look at
(15:25):
your life on the outside, because of the condition of
your heart, you see manifested in your outer life, what's
going on in your inner life? And that's a part
of what we the message that we want to try
to get across to all of us. We need to
begin to focus on the enner mey See, I always
(15:49):
escave the sermon one time, there's better me inside of me.
There's a better you inside of you, and you got
to become the better you. And in order to become
the better you, you're going to have to focus on
the inner you. You got to focus on the heart.
That's Angela quoted the scripture in Proverbs sixteen and one
early this morning, and I want to read it for
(16:11):
you because this is important and there's a message in that,
and it says the preparations of the heart in man
and the answer of his tongue is from the Lord.
There's something that God is preparing us for, and you
don't know what that is. God is from Everlasting, the Everlasting,
(16:34):
He's omni present. There's something that lies ahead for us
that God has to prepare us for. It's important for
us to embrace the spirit of the Lord, the things
that He's trying to do in our lives, so that
when that moment come, we will be prepared for it.
(16:57):
That little chick had to be prepared for that moment.
But when he would make that last breakthrough to that shell.
Let me give you another little secret. If you looked
at that little video that shell, and almost invariably with
every chick is going to start off with a little prick,
a little prick, and he would come on. See, in physics,
(17:18):
sometimes you can hit things at a right point and
it began to continue to fracture. It's kind of like
you might have seen the little illustration when you had
this opera singer and you have this singer that sing
this soprano and you put a crystal glass there and
there's a certain frequency. If you can hit that certain frequency,
that glass would just pop. That's the way it is
(17:40):
with that chick. And let me tell you something else.
That's the way it is with your life, with our lives.
So I'm giving you some secrets in order for you
to get some breakthroughs in your life. I'm not talking
about this fantasy stuff that we have a tendency to
do in the church. Just call on Jesus. Just call
on Jeesus. And I always say, if all that stuff
was while we're still going through some of the things
(18:02):
that we're going through, and why have people died not
getting the breakthrough that he should have gotten? Be failure?
It can't be in God. And we think that God
is going to come off of his throne in order
in order to extract us out of all our nests,
most of which at least some, if not most, of
which we've calls upon out brought upon ourselves. And we
(18:25):
want God to erase all of his standards whatsoever a man,
so that she'll they also reap. And so we want
to forget about all of the sowing that we've sown,
and we want to reap only that which is good,
and we want God to make sure that he does
that for us, Like is beholden to you only to
(18:46):
the extent that he's your father. And every father wants
the best for their children. But every father also knows
that you just can't pull your child out of every
scrap a very little strap. Sometimes you got to let
them work things out themselves, otherwise think there was there
will be lessons in their lives that will be invaluable
(19:07):
for them to learn. They will never learn Mom's a
little a little different. Moms have sacrificed themselves in order
for that child not to feel one little bit of pain.
This is why you need both parents. You need that balance,
You need that tenderness and that care for mom. But
you also need that somewhat I won't say abrasiveness, even
(19:33):
though sometimes it does seem somewhat abrasive when it comes
to that which which dads bring to the table. And
now we done got smart, and I think a lot
of this comes from single family households. We don't want
men to be men anymore. We want them to look
(19:53):
like men and act like men. When we want them
to act like men, but then we want them to
feel like mom. We want them to do what Mama
would do, but just in a male body. Maybe if
we had more clear lines drawn, we wouldn't be facing
this transgender issue that we are facing now is not
(20:13):
gonna stop there. Whatsoever you sow that you shall also read,
we've aborted our children. And in the church we think,
well it will. And who am I to say? What
did God call you to do? Cry loud, spare not
lift up your voice like a trumpet, beat the light
of the world, beat the sart of the earth. And
(20:33):
you want to stay hid. If we don't do something
to change this, this world is gonna get really really weird,
racking crazy. These little kids now now they're already growing up.
And I shared, I shared this years decades ago. Just
go back and pull some of the sermons I said.
(20:55):
And what I said, I said, you're raising your tormentors,
You're raising your persecutors. I said. Even before then, I said,
if you can't deal with your children when they're too
if you can't control them, you're raising a little devil.
And that same little devil is gonna come back and
haunt you. And when they finish horning you, they're gonna
(21:18):
go into the world and reap havoc on this world.
If you love your children, you're going to discipline your
children into righteousness and to be righteous. You're not gonna
do that, just letting your child just one free and
do whatever they want while you enjoy your life and
while you're having you Oh, I just want to sleep.
(21:38):
I just want to rest. I just go to go
to Mama, go to Daddy, go to Auntie. Call can
you keep Johnny for a couple of hours. I need
to go, I need to I need to break. Let
me tell your secret. Be married forty four years as
(22:02):
of yesterday. Happy anniversaryy heart. She put up with me
for forty four big ones. She tried to jump ship
a couple of times, not past Angela. When Byron get
(22:27):
out of here, he's the youngest. I'm leaving too, I said, okay,
the avatar. I try to remember certain things. Byron and
growing up be a handsome young man. Pot him a boy,
got his lovely wife and his lovely little one. Talk
(22:50):
to Anie, you're ready to leave now, fakee quiet say
a lot of things in heat of the moment, and
we see a lot of things in generally here of
the moment. God knows our heart, and I knew her heart,
and I said all that to same. You don't take
(23:11):
a break from raising your children. And believe it or not,
ever I know said when you gets sixteen, they're getting out. No,
I'm going to tell you. I think my oldest is
forty three. And guess what now. And that's my daughter's lover,
good girl. I call her my warrior angel because she
(23:35):
don't take no prisoners. No, no, no, no, no no.
She would have been in the army, the reserves, the police,
because that's what's see. That is where her call is.
And as a father, you have to be able to
(23:55):
identify the call, and you got to balance certain things.
I know this, she's my first born. I didn't know
some of the things that I know now. Then just
by the grace of God, things turn out okay, just
by the grace of God. So I said all that
to say, when you're raising children, you need to learn
(24:19):
to identify the calling their destiny. And you can identify
that because those are going to be the kind of
things that come naturally. And then what you gotta do
is that and there's a balance. You gotta balance temperance
and what you're really doing. You're establishing discipline. You got
(24:39):
to teach a child at a young age how to
discipline themselves so that they can manage their gifting. And
you can't just depend on one of the parents to
do it all. It takes both. And I'm gonna tell
you something, saying raising three children, I've seen this work
out every area as a couple, every area you're out
(25:01):
of sink. And when you're donna agree on, you're gonna
see it manifesting your children, because first your children are
going to exploit it. The next thing is there's certain things. See,
things are established to agreement, and if you're not in
agreement on that thing, I'm not just talking about compromising
well and not dealing with things in order for you
not to have an argument and what have you. But
(25:22):
you got to you gotta have an affinity. You gotta
have a commitment to what's right, to righteousness as opposed
to your way. But all those things are issues of
the heart. And when you see all these things coming
up in your life, as opposed to just turning aside
(25:44):
and allowing those things to lie follow, you need to
deal with that thing. You need to deal with your heart.
You need to deal with those all those little things
that's not serving you well, and that's not serving other
people well. And if you have a spirit of God,
the spirit of God will show you you need to
(26:05):
deal with that. Then we'd stay and something making excuses. Well,
I'm still growing, the Lord understands, Jesus loves me, and
all this other kind of stuff. I'm going to tell
you there's a time and a season for all things.
There's a timing to get in that thing right. And
if you don't get that thing right, that thing will
(26:25):
get root. And the more root that thing put into
your life, the more difficult it's going to be dealt with.
We're dealing with some landscaping around our home, and I
say that as broad as I can. I've noticed something,
but not you know, not being the one that get
(26:47):
in the yard every other day and cutting the grass
and all the other kind stuff. So you allow things
to kind of grow up. One of the things I
notice is that you can have little tiny little things
that you can just pull out with just with a
little couple of fingers, just pull it right on out,
throw it in and be done with it. You can
get a law more and just go right across and
cut it right down. But you let that rascal grow
(27:09):
a season or two. That same little thing that you
thought was just nice, cute, you could pull up in
any time. All of a sudden, now it's going up.
And this thing is is like it's a little tiny
tree there. I said that to say, the Bible says
it's a little eleven eleven, it's the whole lump. You
(27:30):
gotta deal with those things when they're small, before they
get rooted. And if you allow those things to get rooted,
those things will reap havoc in your life, and they
will bring hindrance in your life that you can't imagine.
And then what will happen is that all the time
you spent avoiding that thing, you're gonna have to spend
now correcting that thing. But you're gonna have to do
(27:52):
it an unconcentrated way. If you deal with it as
they present themselves. It's gonna take up some time, but
you're saving you self time in the long run, and
you're gonna save yourself a whole lot of money. I'll
say this is gonna go on, but finish up my
little saying kids came over. I think it might have
been for Christmas or something, and my oldest America, Erica,
(28:16):
said that, Dad, I don't remember the backyard being that
close to the house. I said, all my landscapers got married,
You got married, got married, Byron got married. All my
(28:41):
grass caught us. Some the left men another of the
volunteering to come back around. So then have to go
pay someone to go out there and get it all
back into some kind of shape. That's the way it
is when it comes to our lives and the thing
that we got to understand all those things conditions of
the heart.
