Sinopsis oficial.
Pepe Sánchez Campo está en el mejor momento de su vida. Su corrupto negocio inmobiliario está despegando y se encuentra a punto de casarse con el amor de su vida, la aristócrata Constanza. Sin embargo, su suerte está por cambiar. Su obra es tomada por una guerrilla campesina que exige justicia y el día de su despedida de soltero, los mismos guerrilleros lo secuestran para someterlo a un juicio popular.
Basada simbólicamente en la desgracia que sufrieron en México los antiguos emperadores Maximiliano y Carlota de Habsburgo, la película dramatiza la ejecución imaginaria de siglos de colonialismo, encarnada en un criminal empresario enamorado, cuyo destino se ve alterado por la irrupción de la violencia política y las pasiones humanas.
La película es protagonizada por Andrew Leland Rogers, Lucía Gómez-Robledo, Dario Yazbek Bernal, Aldo Escalante Ochoa, Manuel García-Rulfo, Mónica Del Carmen, Fernando Álvarez Rebeil.
