For the 103rd episode of the CIO podcast hosted by Healthcare IT Today, we are joined by David Tucker, Former CIO, to discuss a CIO’s perspective on AI! We begin this episode by discussing what the biggest changes are from when Tucker was a CIO to today. As a former CIO, Tucker has been through the Best of Breed vs All-in-One cycle. So, as we prepare to go through it with AI, we discuss how a CIO should be approaching this challenge. Then Tucker shares how to stay patient with both your users and your board as they demand AI. Next, we discuss some key points to leading an organization during this huge burst of AI innovation.
While AI is a very hot topic in healthcare right now, there are plenty of other very important topics to study and discuss. So we list out what non-AI topics we believe that CIOs should be spending time on. We then take a look at Tucker’s varied job history, as both a CIO and as someone for the vendors, to analyze what the key is to making the most of vendor relationships. We also examine the current state of vendor relationships to see if there’s anything that most CIOs don’t appreciate about vendors. Lastly, we conclude this episode with Tucker passing along the best piece of advice he’s heard in his career.
Here’s a look at the questions and topics we discuss in this episode:
