Downtown Redding is entering a new era — and we’re breaking it down with some of the people who helped make it happen. In this episode, we’re joined by Interim City Manager Steve Bade and Blake Fisher, Main Street Coordinator with Viva Downtown, to explore the launch of the City’s brand-new Downtown Entertainment Zone.
The Entertainment Zone allows adults 21 and older to enjoy open alcoholic beverages purchased from participating businesses while walking within the designated downtown district, daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
We discuss how the idea came to life, what the City hopes to accomplish, how local businesses are preparing, and what visitors can expect when they come downtown to sip, stroll, and explore. From economic impact to community culture, this conversation offers a behind-the-scenes look at a program designed to activate and energize Redding’s core.
Whether you’re a downtown regular or haven’t visited in a while, this episode will give you a clear picture of how the Entertainment Zone works — and why it’s expected to be a game-changer for local businesses and community life.
