Lauren (00:01):
it's your girl, lauren.
Claire voyaging is built onopenness, trust, community and a
mindset of growth andvulnerability.
There have been multiple timeswhen our guests challenge our
belief systems and bring tolight aspects of ourselves that
we were either denying or indenial of.
(00:22):
But because our guests have allbeen respectful and worked with
us through these conversations,we've always walked away
feeling uplifted and inspired, even after some tears from me.
Well, we recently had our firstuncomfortable interview that
left us feeling like shit.
Like shit.
(00:52):
Wayfeather Media presents ClaireVoyaging.
I won't name names because Idon't think this person has
malicious intent, but inretrospect and after a lot of
discussion between Frank and me,we decided that there was too
(01:13):
much energetic misalignment anda mismatch of messaging, which
led us to scrap the episode.
Before I continue, there are afew things I want to express.
This show is a reflection ofwho Frank and I are as
individuals and a unified,purposeful partnership.
(01:33):
Like any team, we have ourstrengths and we have our
weaknesses.
In the wrong environment, weare both susceptible to being
bulldozed by a certain type ofperson.
Frank and I are bothopen-minded, considerate people
who take our time to contemplateinformation presented to us.
This is very much reflected inour show.
(01:56):
If you hear us, you know thatwhen presented with challenging
bits of information, we ask morequestions to bridge that
knowledge gap.
We nod in contemplation and welisten.
It's not in our nature to playa hard ball or to be
confrontational.
In this sacred space that we'vebuilt, our willingness to
(02:19):
listen and learn is our greateststrength.
However, we found ourselvesconfronted by an aggressive,
domineering type who usedspirituality and psychism as a
Trojan horse, and what sucksmore than anything is that, just
(02:40):
like a Trojan horse, we invitedthem in.
So, at the end of the day, weare responsible for who we
allowed into our space, and weweren't prepared for the
unhealed wounds that wereprojected onto us by the person
we interviewed.
We were seeking someone whocombined business and
spirituality.
(03:00):
We wanted to discuss limitingmindsets around money, possibly
chat about manifestation and getadvice for people who are
looking to grow an idea or abusiness but might operate with
a scarcity or poverty mindset.
This is a bit of a fringe topicfor us and for this show, but
something we thought might behelpful.
We found a person who presentedvery confidently and was also a
(03:24):
very deeply intuitive person.
At first, this person wasinsightful, pleasant and
confident, but the confidencequickly became self-aggrandizing
.
An unbalanced ego was at play.
It took about 30 minutes for itto go from an interview to an
attempted intervention where ourinterviewee used my biggest
(03:48):
weakness to challenge me.
I asked a question what advicedo you give to someone like me
who wants to expand, potentiallycreate a workshop, but who
often struggles with self-doubt?
The response was what happensto my marriage if I start fully
stepping into my power?
Would I feel supported by myhusband?
(04:10):
My immediate answer was hellyes, I would be supported by
Frank.
I know that, along with someconfusion, because I was not
asking about my marriage at all.
Asking about my marriage at all, okay, but what is the little
(04:33):
girl in me most afraid of?
Anytime someone brings up myinner child, my abandonment
wound is automatically triggeredand I cry.
The discomfort started there andcontinued while they tried to
convince Frank that he isletting his wife down by not
being a traditional masculinecrossfit weightlifting
(04:53):
millionaire provider.
It was a confusing combinationof trying to boost me up in a
way that somehow still feltundermining, while also tearing
Frank down.
They weaponized their intuitivegifts, claiming that Frank
wasn't capable of consciouslyagreeing with their insights,
(05:16):
but assuring him that his higherself completely agreed.
And all of this was sandwichedbetween actual, decent advice
and psychic readings that, whilecompletely unsolicited, were
kind of accurate.
So here we had the passive andopen Leons at the mercy of an
(05:39):
aggressive, unhealed,capitalist-minded psychic
tapping into my and Frank'sdeepest fears, pitting us
against each other and usingthat to push a very specific
worldview and, ultimately, thisperson's services.
After the dust settled, werealized that this interaction
(06:01):
was domineering, manipulativeand left absolutely no room for
the nuance that is thecornerstone of this podcast.
This person tried to tell usthat my success would
potentially destroy our marriagebecause of Frank's insecurities
, that it would be messy andchaotic, but that we'd have to
(06:22):
face our shadows if we're goingto choose to stay together.
But that we'd have to face ourshadows if we're going to choose
to stay together.
Frank pushed back regarding theidea of masculine energy.
He's been trying to redefinewhat that even means to him
while intentionally allowingmore feminine rage into his life
.
For more on that, listen to hisLilith slash election episode.
(06:42):
It's episode 52.
It's great.
He always makes an effort tocreate more space for female
voices.
So when Frank said that thesuggestion of needing more
masculine energy didn't resonatewith him in the slightest.
This person said Frank wasbullshitting because, as a
psychic, they knew better.
This person told Frank that Idon't fully believe he supports
(07:06):
my growth and power.
So he had to sit with thatdiscomfort for days, questioning
his shadows and wondering howmuch I agreed with any of that.
I don't agree with any of that.
But because an overly confidentand underdeveloped psychic said
it, he still had to worry aboutit.
But after all thismisrepresentation of his
(07:29):
character, what it did wascreate an emphasis for him on
what he doesn't like or believeand what he truly represents.
But you know what's really wild?
All the trouble and self-doubtthis person caused.
And we're not even mad at them, because we both learned a
(07:50):
valuable lesson.
It was an opportunity fordeeper conversation between
Frank and me, and it gave usmore clarity about what this
podcast is and what it isn't.
Furthermore, I need to finallylive into my confidence and know
for certain what I am about andwhat motivates me, and not to
(08:12):
be at the mercy of the nexthighly opinionated and super
confident person to cross mypath, regardless of their
intuitive ability.
Voyagers, after thisconversation, voyagers, after
this conversation, frank pulledthe nine of pentacles.
Wealth follows your focus, which must be trained.
Be mindful of where you placeyour attention.
(08:34):
Be protective and selectiveabout what you are allowing
yourself to receive.
Slow down and create anenvironment that emanates
prosperity, and abundance willfollow.
We believe that we areattracting abundance, but from
(08:57):
now on, we're only allowingmessages that build us up, not
tear us down.
We love our listeners.
We value our authentic growthas well as yours.
Thank you so much for allowingus to share our journey, our
mistakes, our achievements andour vulnerability.
