(00:00):
Hi and welcome to Timeless Truths, where we discover
enduring wisdom through the lensof classic quotes here on the
Classic Advice Podcast. I'm Scarlett, your host.
Today's quote is this. I'm learning every day to allow
space between where I am and where I want to be to inspire me

(00:21):
and not terrify me, UN quote. And that is credited to Tracee
Ellis Ross, an actress and a producer.
This is really powerful. I like this quote when I look at
my own dreams and goals, especially this homesteading 1.

(00:44):
And if you're new to the show, I'm currently living in a camper
on a bear plot of land, and me and my husband are going to
build our homestead from scratch.
And it was a big, big step for us to finally get to where we
are now, to sell the house that we were in.

(01:05):
But even though we're here, there's still a long, long way
to go. And it's going to take a lot of
work and a lot of fight and a lot of trials and tribulations
in order to get to where we wantto be.

(01:25):
Mostly I think the winters are going to be the hardest part
just because it gets so cold here and that can be a very
scary thing. Just yesterday actually, I was
getting a little overwhelmed with it all and a little worried

(01:51):
about all the work that needs tobe done and, and the winter and
the cold. And, but when I think about it,
really, and I, and I get myself out of that headspace and I, and
I learn to take a step back and be a little bit more objective,
which is not an easy thing to do, but it's, there's, there's,

(02:18):
there's two ways you can look atit.
There's, you know, when I had myCo host Dave on the show a
couple weeks ago, Dave was on and if you haven't listened to
that episode, please go listen to it because it it it's what he
says about passion is really powerful.
So thank you, Dave. I know you're listening.

(02:40):
Thank you for coming on. It's it's a scary thing.
You know, we can have two reactions.
We can be scared, scared. We can be scared of that, of
that space between where we are and where we want to be, or we
can let that inspire us to keep going and keep pressing on to

(03:09):
where we want to be. I was speaking in that episode
when when I was recording with Dave that when I go into a
bookstore because I love readingand I see that I don't have a
book published yet, It it bothers me.
It annoys me and it's a it, it, it can be a scary thing to think

(03:37):
about that. That's so much work to to get
that done. It's going to take so much time
and effort. I can let that scare me, or I
can let the other authors that made it to the shells inspire
me. We're standing on a road and it

(04:01):
comes to a fork and we get to choose whether to go left or
right and we get to choose whether to be scared and let
that fear grip us and freeze us,or we can turn right and let us

(04:23):
let it inspire us and we keep walking and eventually we'll get
there. I'm going to leave you with
that. And before I let you go, I'll
read it one more time. I'm learning.
Emphasis on learning because it's an everyday battle.

(04:45):
I'm learning everyday to allow the space between where I am and
where I want to be to inspire meand not terrify me.
And that is widely credited to an actress and producer, Tracy
Ellis Ross. Wise words.

(05:08):
Till next time you guys be inspired by.
