Kevin has spent decades chronicling the stories of families and friends through genealogy, writing, and photography—capturing the essence of human experience across generations. His body of work includes personal letters, professional articles, dissertations, anthologies, and presentations delivered at conferences and seminars nationwide.
Beyond his literary pursuits, Kevin is known for bringing people together—organizing family and class reunions, performing in theater, and participating in meaningful causes. As an active member of SMART Ride, he cycles annually from Miami to Key West to raise funds and awareness for HIV education and treatment. His leadership extends to the classroom and beyond, having served as a teacher, principal, professor, and curriculum coordinator in California, Illinois, and Florida from 1973 to 2020. In his final educational role, he focused on training and advocacy in areas such as LGBTQ support, sexual health, and family life education.
Kevin lives in Ft. Lauderdale with his husband, Leon. Together, they share a beautiful family of five sons and seven granddaughters. His story is one of deep compassion, community, and purpose—a reminder that true impact comes from nurturing connection.

The Brothers Ortiz
The Brothers Ortiz is the story of two brothers–both successful, but in very different ways. Gabe Ortiz becomes a third-highest ranking officer in all of Texas while his younger brother Larry climbs the ranks in Puro Tango Blast, a notorious Texas Prison gang.
