SPEAKER_01 (00:00):
Mimi.
Mimi, why do I imagine you likecoming in after an intro like
Arsenio Hall?

SPEAKER_02 (00:10):
Why I can't hear you.
You blew my eardrum.

SPEAKER_01 (00:14):
Why do I picture you running in after the intro like
Arsenio Hall?

SPEAKER_02 (00:19):
Like Oh, I'm gonna be like, I don't know, I'm
probably gonna dance a littlebit like Ellen Generis or
something.
Like I'm more of like an Ellen.
I mean, I'm gonna raise the roofwith my energy.
Also, why is there a square onmy face on Riverside?
Is that weird?

SPEAKER_01 (00:36):
Move your mouse.
Thank you.
Mimi.
Yeah.
Wait, hold on.
We haven't even said hi yet.
How are you doing?

SPEAKER_00 (00:47):
I'm starting the show.
It's Coffee Social, the podcastall about social media and
business.
And now, here are your hosts,Jonathan Howard and Mimi
Langley.

SPEAKER_02 (01:03):
Hi everyone.
Hi, Jonathan Howard.

SPEAKER_01 (01:06):
Hello, Mimi Langley.

SPEAKER_02 (01:08):
Well, two things.
One, that was a little creepy, and two, I was like, did he
forget my name?

SPEAKER_01 (01:11):
Hello, Mimi Langley.
Oh, hello, Mimi Langley.

SPEAKER_02 (01:14):
Actually, I like that.
Can you talk like that for therest of the episode?

SPEAKER_01 (01:17):
I will talk like this for the rest of the
episode.
Yes.
No, I won't.

SPEAKER_02 (01:20):
You're really good at that.
Why do why don't you tellpeople?
Like you could do you could dovoices.

SPEAKER_01 (01:23):
Because it's weird.

SPEAKER_02 (01:24):
My goodness, you guys.
Okay, well, that's coffee.
Cheers to that Jonathan Howard.
Cheers.
Hilarious boy.

SPEAKER_01 (01:30):
Are you admitting I'm the funny one?
Perfect.

SPEAKER_02 (01:32):
I mean, why can't we both be funny?
I don't understand why this hasto be a competition.

SPEAKER_01 (01:36):
Because I'm funny.
Oh, I'm funny too.
I'm But you're but you're not.

SPEAKER_02 (01:45):
Okay.

SPEAKER_01 (01:46):
We gotta be moving on our short episode.

SPEAKER_02 (01:48):
Let's go.
Do you want to go ahead andquickly introduce yourself in 10
seconds or less?

SPEAKER_01 (01:51):
Yes.
My name is Jonathan Howard.
I'm the owner of Success onSocial, and I help successful
female coaches reach their idealclients using their signature
style.
Over to you, Mimi.

SPEAKER_02 (01:58):
Hi everyone.
I'm Mimi Langley.
I teach women in business how tohost rooms, how to moderate on
social audio.
That includes LinkedIn Audio,Chatter, Clubhouse, X Spaces.
And really, you can, you know, host to grow your business from
the ground up.
That was really good.
Boom.
That was good.
Okay, let's just dive into itbecause these short episodes are
gonna hurt me.
I know.
They're harder than the longepisodes.

(02:19):
Just imagine editing it.
All right, go.
We have a list.
So we're gonna talk aboutcontent, how to find content
ideas.
And you know, everything can becontent if we really think about
it.
Although some people willdisagree with that.
What do you think about thatline, Jonathan?
Everything is content.

SPEAKER_01 (02:33):
I think you can make content out of everything if
you're intelligent about it.
Yes.
But you have to be smart aboutit.

SPEAKER_02 (02:39):
So what does that mean though?
You mean like align it with mymy brand?

SPEAKER_01 (02:43):
Align it with your brand.
Always bring it back to whatyou're doing in your business.
So there's anything.
So you can talk about, let'ssay, your cats or something your
cats did and put to put it inyour content, but you have to
bring it back to what youactually want out of it.
What is your goal with thatcontent?
What are you talking about inyour business so that it makes
sense?
I love that.

SPEAKER_02 (03:03):
Right to the point.
Yes.
You guys write that on a post-itnote.
Okay, let's go ahead and go downthe line, Jonathan.
I mean, we have a list.
I do.
We got it.
You do.

SPEAKER_01 (03:11):
I mean, I have another list here, but yeah.

SPEAKER_02 (03:13):
It's funny.
I always do these notes and I goin, I'm like, what did Jonathan
edit?
Okay, well, let's talk about thefirst one because I really like
that you added this.
You like start with your ownlong form content.
So can you break that down forus?

SPEAKER_01 (03:27):
Yeah.
I mean, if you're writing blogs,if you're creating YouTube
videos, if you're doing anythingthat's long form, like I don't
know, uh an audio room, like anyof that, you can break down into
smaller pieces of content anduse it across your platforms.
So use your long form pieces ofcontent to create your short
form pieces of content, as wellas establish you as a thought

(03:50):
leader.
So that's the like we're on aquick episode.
That's the quickest version.

SPEAKER_02 (03:54):
Like it's not just a one and done with that long
form, you know, break it up.
Okay, and then we also have onthe list have your notebook,
grab your notebook that has allof the questions you've ever
gotten throughout your uh yourcareer as a business person.

SPEAKER_01 (04:07):
And if you're asking me, I'm telling you to grab your
notebook because I say this allthe time.
You need to have a notebook thathas all the things that
anybody's ever asked you aboutyour business.
And the one thing that shouldnot be in there is anything that
nobody's ever asked you aboutyour business, but you want to
talk about anyway.
Don't put that in there.

SPEAKER_02 (04:23):
How many notebooks at this point do you have?
I'm sure you've filled up a few.
He's looking.
It looks like I have about 40,maybe 45 over there.

SPEAKER_01 (04:34):
Oh well, you have been doing this a long time.

SPEAKER_02 (04:36):
Wow.

SPEAKER_01 (04:36):
I have been doing this a long time, yeah.

SPEAKER_02 (04:38):
Okay.
Very good.
Okay.
The next one is look at, youknow, blogs and podcast episodes
and YouTube videos and just kindof pull inspiration.
You know, maybe even when you'relistening in and somebody says a
good point, you're like, oh, Ican talk about that.

SPEAKER_01 (04:52):
I can expand on that topic.
Yeah, and and you can do that insocial audio rooms.
You can do that.
I keep bringing it back tosocial audio for you today.

SPEAKER_02 (04:59):
Thank you.

SPEAKER_01 (05:00):
You can do that, you know, anywhere you see content.
I was driving by the gas stationthe other day and literally came
up with a content idea because Isaw a sign that was like, oh, I
could do that.
That's a signature style.
And you just you never know.

SPEAKER_02 (05:13):
Well, actually, that ties in with I have on the list
like your life, your day-to-daylife, daily conversation that
you have with people.
You know, you can pull that inyour emotions.
Maybe you feel like a failure, maybe you feel defeated.
That might be a great vulnerablepost to create.

SPEAKER_01 (05:27):
Yeah, absolutely.
And vulnerable posts are great, but Mimi, you're not a failure.
Thank you.
You're doing great.
Well, what is it?
Don't worry about it.

SPEAKER_02 (05:35):
It's not win or lose.
It's win or learn.

SPEAKER_01 (05:37):
Win or learn.
Absolutely.
You don't fail, you learn, youprogress.
That was like motivation.
That does not motivate.
Not at all.
Anyway, I'm not the motivationalspeaker today.
I am the funny one, remember?

SPEAKER_02 (05:50):
Oh my goodness.
Do you want to throw one outfrom the list?

SPEAKER_01 (05:55):
Yes, I will throw one out for the list.
Um, Answer the Public.
Answer the Public is a fantastictool that you can use on online
and you can search about anytopic, and it will give you who,
what, when, where, why, and howthat you can create content off
of.
So Answer the Public is areally, really amazing tool.
If you're looking to, you know, come up with your blog posts for

(06:17):
the next six years.
You could probably do that veryeasily with Answer the Public.
You could also use GoogleTrends, you can use Reddit, any
of those things will also giveyou ideas.
YouTube, so plenty of places toget ideas.

SPEAKER_02 (06:29):
But I answer the public, like I feel like no one
ever talks about that.
So that's a really good one tolook up.
We'll put the links to below.

SPEAKER_01 (06:35):
Yeah, Answer the Public is a good one.
It's a real good one.
If you haven't checked it out, check it out.

SPEAKER_02 (06:40):
Okay.
I love that.
Anything in the news, because wealways talk about news hacking.
Well, you always talk about it.

SPEAKER_01 (06:45):
Yeah, I'm a big fan of news hacking because it gets
you not only highlights what youknow, but also it gets you the c
attention from the news becauseit's already trending.
So that's a good win.

SPEAKER_02 (06:57):
Yeah, and I mean I could it doesn't have to be
like, you know, boring news.
It could be like celebrity news.

SPEAKER_01 (07:02):
It could be.
Depending on your niche.
It could absolutely be.
I mean, I've done Beyonce, I'vedone Taylor Swift, I've done
goodness, I did one that I didRihanna.
That one got me.
That was my best post.
Like two, yeah.
Super Bowl for two years ago.
That was a huge one.
So yeah.

SPEAKER_02 (07:19):
Very good.
Okay, and the last thing I haveon this list, I'm just making
sure that I didn't missanything.
Oh no, there's two more things.
Check in with your audience.
You know, make sure like askthem what they need right now.
Yeah.

SPEAKER_01 (07:30):
Yeah, absolutely.
You can ask, you can put pollsin your in your stories.
You can ask what they need.
You can sit down with them andhave a conversation.
Like ask one of your audiencemembers if they'll get on a
15-minute zoom with you.
I think we've learned this atpodcast movement to put a
15-minute zoom in your calendaronce a month to speak with a
listener.

SPEAKER_02 (07:50):
So brilliant.
That's such a great idea.

SPEAKER_01 (07:52):
That's a brilliant idea.

SPEAKER_02 (07:53):
And that way it's a private setting and they're more
willing to open up.
And yeah, I like that a lot.
Also, you can use your socialaudio to talk with people
because that's the culture ofsocial audio.
People like to talk.
Last thing on the list isrepurpose previous content.
Jonathan, how many times haveyou repurposed content?
Like your reels.
Yeah.

SPEAKER_01 (08:12):
Millions of times, it feels like.
It feels like millions of times.

But here's the thing (08:15):
you should have content pillars that you
speak to.
If you're doing the same thingfor multiple years, you have
content pillars that you speakto, you should be repeating your
message because that's how youget known for something.
Yes, you're gonna evolve, you'regonna grow, but you still need
to be repeating your message.
So having those content pillars, repurposing that content, it's
not one and done.

(08:36):
Like we said with the long form,it's not one and done.
You can take a long form blogpost and turn it into you know,
three carousels and thenadditional posts after that, and
then five reels, and you canjust keep going.

SPEAKER_02 (08:49):
Doesn't that make you feel better?
Like you've already done it, soit's you know what I mean?
It's like the hard work isreally over.
Okay, I'm gonna also say thisout loud because you said that
no, you said this in a clubhouseroom not too long ago, and I
really liked it, and it makessense with what we're talking
about.
You said your content shouldalways feel like you.

SPEAKER_01 (09:08):
Yes.
I love that.
Your content should be like you.
No matter what, your contentshould feel like you.
Somebody should look at it andgo, that's something Mimi put
out.
And if it feels generic, thenyou're missing your mark.

SPEAKER_02 (09:18):
I love it.
Well, Jonathan Howard, I thinkwe're there.

SPEAKER_01 (09:21):
I think we've hit our short episode time.
I think we did.
Do we have a question?

SPEAKER_02 (09:26):
Yes, we do.
But you have to you have to endit properly.

SPEAKER_01 (09:30):
I have to end it properly by saying, make sure
you give Mimi five stars.
She's sad.
She cries every night.
We haven't gotten a newfive-star review in a very long
time.
Not really very long.
It was like last week.
But she cried every day sincethen because we didn't get
reviews.
And, you know, she wants herreviews five stars every single
time you go review Mimi if youlike our content.

(09:51):
Only please don't let don't giveus five stars if you don't
believe we deserve it.
Over to you, Mimi.
I don't know how to respond tothat.

SPEAKER_02 (09:58):
Um, okay, well, we're gonna end it with the most
important question of them all.
And as you know, in season two,we're changing it up a little
bit.
So this is the question for youguys.
It's your turn to answer.
Are you team apple cider or teampumpkin spice latte?

SPEAKER_01 (10:12):
Why do I get pumpkin spice latte?

SPEAKER_02 (10:14):
Cheers.
I don't know, it just it worked.
Cheers.
Thanks everyone for watching.

SPEAKER_01 (10:18):
Bye, Jonathan Howard.
No, my camera was doing weirdthings.
Bye, Mimi Langley.

SPEAKER_02 (10:25):
What a hoop.
