“A Coffee with…” Sonja Besford, author and poet

During the discussion we reflected on Sonja’s life in the UK and how her attitude towards both the UK and Serbia has been challenged. We also discussed what identity and belonging means, why are people finding it hard to be emotionally open these days, and how past personal and family experiences shape us.

We further discussed prejudices and perceptions people have of i/emigrants, whether personal perceptions could change, and why Borislav Pekić left such an impact on Sonja and the Serbian community in the UK.
