Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hey, what's going on?
Welcome back to the Come On youKnow podcast, where we turn
Thursdays into Fridays andFridays into the weekend.
No, we don't, anyway, thatwould be magic.
So this episode I want to talkabout my two years and running
(00:24):
show.
Two years anniversary, that'sright.
24 months plus of me justsitting down talking garbage and
you all keep listening.
Yeah, two-year anniversary.
Just want to shout this out andI mean this is not like therapy
(00:58):
, but if it was like, my copaywould probably be covered by now
, but page will probably becovered by now.
But anywho, we're getting alittle bit more professional.
We have a studio covering usand me and hopefully, if I
figure it out, work with acouple of people.
(01:20):
People, I'm gonna try to havean ai avatar, not the most privy
on the tech, but I do what Ican, but I want to talk about
(01:51):
that.
So, anyway, how did I start?
I started off of a bet.
I was at work.
I said, hey, you know, off of abet I was at work.
I said, hey, you know, I shouldstart a podcast.
Folks at work said, hey, youcan't do it.
I said don't tell me I can't,because I will and I'll make you
(02:14):
the butt of my joke Jokes and Idid it.
So, anyway, I started it, Ilearned how to do it and guess
what?
I learned how to do it at work.
So jokes on you work.
I spent your time, your hours,on learning how to do this and
(02:37):
well, I guess the joke's not onthem because I'm still working
there, but anyway, I do want todiscuss my journey.
For anyone that's out there thatwants to do this, consistency,
like I've learned, consistencyis the key.
It's very hard to be consistentat this age.
I'm an adult, have a career, have responsibilities, I want to
(03:02):
go home, I'm tired, and beingconsistent in a hobby is rough.
All you adults out there thatknow what I'm talking about like
, hey, I'm with you, you're withme.
This started out as a bet, which I didn't win anything,
(03:24):
even though I won.
But being consistent withsomething like this is like I
respect it, although peoplethere are people that just pump
out garbage and I hear it and Ilisten, but at least it's
consistent garbage.
So it's like, hey, if they takethe garbage out on Monday, blah
(03:47):
, it goes out on Monday, but atleast it's consistent.
So but you know, I kept goingand I will continue to keep
going and I will continue tomake things sharper, make it
better, and I will.
I will.
So like I, and I will, I will.
So, like I said, I started witha bet.
(04:09):
Folks at work said, hey, I dareyou, you won't do it.
I said, don't ever dare mebecause I'm going to do it.
And I did and so, yeah, likeI'm not, I'm old, so I'm not
into the followers thing and Ihave a million followers all bet
.
Now I don't, I have close tothe opposite end of a million,
(04:32):
but I don't know what that meansand I'm getting there.
But you know, it's, it's forfun, um, but yeah, but I do want
to talk about what changed inthe past two years.
So a coworker of mine listenedin when I first started and he
said, hey, man, you found yourvoice.
I'm like, well, I mean, I neverlost it, I am who I am.
(04:55):
But that is a thing.
Once you get into this type ofenvironment entertainment and
you listen to yourself, you mayhate yourself, you may hate how
you sound, you may hate what yousay, all that stuff, but I am
very comfortable with myself inthe real world.
But that doesn't necessarilytranslate into like the
(05:17):
entertainment world and this andpeople listening to what you
say.
But I am.
But when you first start itdoesn't turn out that way.
Like when I first started, Iwas like, oh yeah, I don't.
Like I cut a lot, I stopped alot and I hurt myself.
I'm like, no, that's choppy,this and that.
(05:39):
But now you put a and in reallife, like before, like I was
always like, hey, you put a micin front of me, I'm okay.
But put a mic in front of me,empty screen, it's like, eh, I
wasn't okay in the beginning, but now I am.
(06:02):
It's been a long time and Icould do this on the fly and
it's just reps and so I respectpeople in the entertainment
industry because it's justreally reps.
It really is.
So get your reps in.
This is my advice If you'retrying to do this.
(06:22):
I learned that reps will do youwell.
So other reflections that I'vehad I've learned that talking to
a mic will kind of expose you.
Like if you're bad, you're bad.
If you're not, if you're fake,it'll like the mic will find out
(06:43):
.
If you're not, it'll help youout.
But I've learned people willkind of watch I don't know
stupid videos, cat videos beforethey share your podcast because
you're just another human being.
But you just got to keep going, and I'm always a fan of
(07:04):
progression and progressing andI will.
But you just got to keep going.
I'm not there yet with thepod-keezy, but you know I will
keep going and consistencyalways beats following and
applause and all that stuff.
Like you know, some coworkershave told me, some other
(07:26):
listeners have told me like, yeah, I listened to your advice,
I liked it, I adhered to it andit has produced X and it has
produced Y, but it's like, okay, well, I also learn and live and
all that.
So, anyway, I do want to shoutout my fake fans.
(07:51):
You all have acted like youwere fans.
You haven't reposted, whateverthat means, but I still
appreciate you all anyway.
So, but you know, big shout outto me for being my biggest
(08:13):
supporter.
That's just classic me.
I am and I will continue to be.
But anyway, so, like I want totalk about, like my vision,
forward my bigger goals, and Imay want to do like a video
version.
I'm going to have guests, I mayhave spinoffs and I know you
all are like yo man, you got themini me podcast going on, but I
(08:40):
have big vision ideas and Iwill execute them.
That's the thing.
I can't not execute all theideas that I have.
So, looking forward to yearthree, I'll be louder, sharper,
you know, maybe with a bettermic stand.
Or bet my mic stand is not bad,I really do.
(09:02):
I want to have guests because Ithink I can do well.
Well, I'm not going to say, I'mgoing to think like I will do
well with guests and it'll beentertaining, it'll be fun.
(09:23):
But here's the two years to themic, to the madness.
You know the movement.
Everything that I've done hasbeen fun and it's, it's
comfortable.
Now and I would, anyone thatwants to do it, I would push you
towards doing it.
Just find your voice, just find, find your footing, find like
(09:45):
your grounding, all that stuff, and you could do it.
You could do it.
And it won't be.
It's not like, oh, I don't knowwhat to say, like you'll find
out what to say.
Get a couple of episodes underyour belt, you'll rock out.
But anyway, yes, it's a shortepisode, but just wanted to pat
(10:07):
myself on the back.
It's been two years, two big,big ones, and I will continue to
do this.
And for all of you that havebeen listening.
I may, I'm I don't know if Isaid this, but I'm going to try
to do the ai avatar and have himtalk, but that it's a little
(10:33):
bit beyond my technicalexpertise, but I don't care, I'm
gonna keep trying, um, anddoing what I need to do.
So, anyway, another shout outto KMDA Studios.

(10:59):
